PROGRAMMATIC REQUIREMENTS / PROPOSED IDEA

Second Floor: Contains the study, reading

area. Comfortable and quiet. Has

windows for warmth and light. Focus

is on quiet and comfort.Roof can be completely open

for a skylight, as there is no risk of light damage to books

here.

First Floor: Contains the reasearch area and hard copy storage.

Slightly quieter floor. Directed here by ground

floor. Photocopiers, scanners, shelves.

Focus is on protection of books, storage etc.

Ground Floor: Contains Entrance,

Staff area, Computers, Check in and

Returns. Is the noisest section of

the building. Focus is on helping and

directing people, getting them in the

right direction.
