Persecution, false teachers, worldliness, and spiritual apathy are a part of our society and also our Church today. It is very clear in Scripture that we will face these. Our charge is to stand steadfast in the midst of these challenges with the strength that comes from our Heavenly sustainer. We stand on the Truth contained in God’s Word as the source of direction, advice, and hope for our lives. What is even more difficult for many Christians is to stand opposed to the things of the world that run contrary to God’s Word. When Christians stand against culture we are accused of being intolerant, judgmental, and hypocritical. We are attacked for not being accepting of every philosophy or worldview. We must continually pray that God allows us the opportunity to hold onto the truth. That he gives us the strength to face the arrows of Satan and to stand firm with the protection he provides (see Ephesians 6:10-17). Our lives depend on it. Let’s Go!

KNIGHTWATCH

January 15, 2016

Let’s Go –

FROM THE PRINCIPAL . . .

Adam

Kirsch

Let’s Go With Confidence

How confident are you?

I have found that there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. This line is

blurred when you look at individuals who are often in a position of power or authority

– politicians, athletes, celebrities, pastors, teachers, and even principals. The world

continues to share the message that pride and self-assurance are one of the ways to get

ahead in this world, but as Christians we recognize that “pride comes before the fall”

(Proverbs 16:18).

So what are Christians to do? Are we called to waver when confronted with

challenges or to meekly go about our business? Absolutely not. We are, however,

called to place our confidence in something outside of ourselves. We are called to put

our confidence not in our own power, but in the power that has come as the Holy

Spirit has gifted us with authority.

We go out in the world, not scared or ashamed of who we serve but in full confidence

that He goes alongside us – protecting us, guiding us, and upholding those who trust in

Him. We go with the Word of God as an offensive weapon understanding that it, and

it alone, has the power to transform lives. We go with confidence understanding that

we “can do all things through Him who gives us strength” (Philippians 4:13). May we

receive the authority of God and go out with the assurance that, in Him and through

Him, we can serve with confidence. Let’s Go!

Let’s Go…

Let’s Go… Stand Up for What is Right

So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either

by our spoken word or by our letter. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

Paul writes these words to a young church that was facing persecution – specifically from

the Jews who rejected the message of Christ as Savior. He knew that the church members

would face pressure from persecutions, false teachers, worldliness, and apathy to waver

from the truth and to leave the faith. His encouragement was to stand firm in the teachings

and truth of God’s Word.

This is our same command as well. Christians are continually being bombarded by the

same pressures facing the Thessalonians. Persecution, false teachers, worldliness, and

spiritual apathy are a part of our society – and also our Church today. It is very clear in

Scripture that we will face these. Our charge is to stand steadfast in the midst of these

challenges with the strength that comes from our Heavenly sustainer. We stand on the

Truth contained in God’s Word as the source of direction, advice, and hope for our lives.

What is even more difficult for many Christians is to stand opposed to the things of the

world that run contrary to God’s Word. When Christians stand against culture we are

accused of being intolerant, judgmental, and hypocritical. We are attacked for not being

accepting of every philosophy or worldview. We must continually pray that God allows us

the opportunity to hold onto the truth. That he gives us the strength to face the arrows of

Satan and to stand firm with the protection he provides (see Ephesians 6:10-17). Our lives

depend on it. Let’s Go!

SNOW DAYS In the event severe weather conditions would occur, please check one of the local media

outlets for information on school closings. Our recommendation is that you check the WTMJ website

(www.todaystmj4.com) for the earliest and most up-to-date information. Other media outlets broadcasting school

closings include:

Television: WTMJ-4, FOX-6, WISN-12, CBS-58

Radio: 94.5 KTI Country, 620WTMJ

Internet: fox6now.com/weather, WISN.com, cbs58.com

Since our students come from many parts of the metropolitan area, weather conditions may vary from one area to

another. Please use discretion in sending your child to school even though school may be in session. A guideline to use in

making your decision would be the decision that your local public school district has made. (Example: If you live in

Cedarburg and the Cedarburg school district has closed due to the weather, consider keeping your child home from school

that day.)

In the event that a sudden snowstorm forces school to close before the regular closing time, make certain that your child

knows exactly where to go and what to do should no one be home during the school day.

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES . . .

Absences must be reported to the Attendance Office at (414) 461-6062 or [email protected] by a

parent/guardian prior to 9am on the day of the absence. A written excuse must also be submitted to the Attendance

Office on the day the student returns to school.
