Key board
Your Keyboard is not a typewriter’s one
* Press the Keys firmly but gently,
* Banging on the keys will reduce the life of your Keyboard.
* Don’t spill any liquid on your key board.
* Use Key board and mouse simultaneously. To get the work done quickly use more Short cut Keys.
* See your keyboard is the main input device. Try yourself to become good keyboard literate.

MouseUsing mouse you can select tasks easily in the main menu/pull down menus provided.
Have good control about the mouse while handling. Bear in mind mouse is not the main input device compared to the Keyboard.
As the name itself says it is mouse for beginners to have the immediate control is not so easy. Not to become puzzled. Get confidence in yourself while using the same steadily.

CD/DVDDo not leave the CD/DVD in the drive before switch off the Computer.
Do not take out a CD/DVD diskette while the drive is active. You might spoil the drive mechanism.
Do not move the Drive Tray by manual, when power is on it may spoil the Drive auto play mechanism.
Do not think that( as a beginner) you can copy directly whatever you like on the CD/DVD disk. Bear in mind each storage media (like data, video, audio etc.) has different formats and different way of writing to disk.

CD/DVD storageAlways store the CD/DVD in its cover, and handle CD/DVD from its edges.
To stock the CD/DVD’s in vertical orientation is better.
Do not paste paper label on CD/DVD, do not scratch.
Do not expose the CD/DVD surface to sun or heat, water or excessive humidity.
Do not wipe the CD/DVD with cloth or any rough material. This may spoil the data.
Do not bend the CD/DVD, always handle with utmost care.

RECTIFYING YOUR COMPUTER PROBLEMS
1.The machine not getting powered on. 2.The machine is getting powered on but no display.
3.Error reading disk. HDD failure error during boot up.
4.Machine not booting from Hard disk .
5.Hard disk read/write error.
6.Keyboard is not working.
7.Mouse not working.

Machine is not getting powered on
Check whether your computer switch is in ON position.
Check whether your computer is connected to the power outlet and the power outlet is switched on.
The power connection should be very firm and there should not be any loose contact.
Check whether the out put voltage from stabilizer /UPS is OK.
Check for smell any power cable connected to CPU is burnt and power is cut off.

Display
Machine is getting powered on but no display-
Check the Monitor is switched on and the power indicator is glowing.
Check for Monitor power connection.
Adjust the contrast/brightness into the maximum.
Check whether the monitor is connected to CPU properly.

Error reading Cd/Dvd diskCheck whether you have inserted the disk, properly and the lever is closed properly.
Check with a different CD/DVD
Ensure that the CD/DVD drive LED is power on & its interface cable connected inside the CPU
If you are familiar with Bios settings, checkup for CD/DVD Drive settings & boot preference.
If CD/DVD Drive Tray is opening/closing itself frequently, do not hurry up to disturb just observe in which mode it is running, and put a CD or remove a CD then press tray button; try again.

System re-starts accidentally Check for virus on the system with your Virus Software loaded on the Computer.
A routine check up for virus is always good with Antivirus Software.
If Virus detected and not deleted or quarantined, check up for the software you recently installed, go to safe mode and remove it.
Set your System for Last known good configuration option by pressing Del key or F8 while booting. If it doesn’t work you have to reinstall your OS.
Do not forget to take backup your My documents folders & other VIP files/folders.

Keyboard not working
Check whether three LEDs blink at the same time when the system boots up(during power on self test).
If it is not blinking check the connection of the keyboard to the machine, there should not be any loose contact between the keyboard and the machine.
Also, Check the interface cable of Keyboard connected to the System unit.

Hard Disk ActivityHard disk drive failure while booting up.If you are familiar with Bios settings of the machine, try to check up whether the machine is auto detecting the hard disk.
If you have a Sata hard disk, do not try to detect through the IDE master, and check whether configured as RAID or Non Raid Sata. The system will display the detected Hard disk devices Sl. No. while booting.
Note: If you are not aware of the type of the Hard Disk, and Bios settings don’t do any thing call for your vendor of support Engineer.

Mouse not working
Check the connection of mouse to computer, ensure that mouse is connected without any loose contact.
Check whether proper mouse drivers are loaded or not (if necessary)
Check the proper configuration of the mouse under Windows control panel, ensure that you are connecting the mouse to the correct port, which was connected earlier( in case USB port)

Program/Accessories/System tools-Run regular disk clean up, disk defragmenter To resolve some soft errors and to mark bad files to deleteHave time to time good System Restore Check points to restore system to earlier date when you face trouble.Use Files and Setting wizards to back up your current files and settings. Always store and Back up your VIP files/folders in Drives other than C:/Schedule your Virus Scan weekly and also do complete system scan timely.

Basic careAvoid experimenting with System Files, moving,copying or deleting will cause system to hang or does not boot again.
Keep the PC away from direct Sun light or heat. Direct sun light can rise temperature quickly and make the internal cooling ineffective.
Keep the PC away from dust, dust can corrode the parts as well as scratch magnetic media like floppies.
Keep the PC by covering with dust cover when it is not in use and switch off.
