Que veut-on dire parmusique celtique ?
What do we mean by “Celtic Music”
The guiding principle of this Festival is thatthe music must have its source in the
traditions of one of the eight Celtic“nations” of Europe, namely Ireland,
Scotland, Brittany, Wales, Isle of Man,Cornwall, Galicia and Asturias.
It goes from the very traditional(Gaelic singing, mouth music,piping, fiddling, Québécois trad,etc.), to the more contemporary,such as Celtic jazz, fusion and folk.
The instruments?Especially fiddle, bagpipes, flute,
tin whistle, harp, accordion,bodhrán, bones, feet, and voice;
but also piano, guitar, Irish bouzouki,mandolin, and more.
Pour être incluse dans ce Festival, il faut que lamusique ait son origine dans les traditions
d’une des 8 « nations » celtiques d’Europe, soitl’Irlande, l’Écosse, la Bretagne, le pays de Galles, l’Île de Man, les Cornouailles, la Galice et les Asturies.
Une musique qui va du trèstraditionnel (chant gaélique, turlute,cornemuses, violoneux, le tradquébécois) au plus contemporain(exemples jazz celtique, fusions, et folk).
Les instruments ?Surtout : violon, cornemuses, flûte,harpe, accordéon, bodhrán, osselets,podorythmie, et la voix humaine; mais aussi le bouzouki irlandais, le piano, la guitare, la mandoline, et bien d'autres.
