an amazing group of dedicated
parents and I am so thankful for
all of their work.
It has been an absolute pleas-
ure working with your children
each day. Their energy, silliness,
and kind-hearted nature make
me excited for the great things
to come.
Karla, Lydia and I wish you a
Happy Thanksgiving. Be safe in
your travels and be sure to
spend time with family and
friends. Go Warriors!
Mr. Fowler
Welcome to November and
the second quarter of the year. I
am so proud of our Knox stu-
dents and all they have accom-
plished to date. We are seeing
tremendous growth in every
child as they have settled in with
routines and procedures.
As I continue to get to know
your children, I wanted to share some of their silly stories with
you. I have tied more shoes
than I ever thought possible in
these first two months of
school! Our Kindergarten stu-
dents have been practicing hard
and many have mastered this
skill.
1st graders think “See Food”
is funny at lunch! After a little
education about not talking with
mouths full, I had to chuckle
about this.
2nd graders tell the goofiest
jokes! “Did you hear the joke
about the roof? Never mind. It’s
over your head!”
3rd graders have educated me
on “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
Apparently this is a popular
video game right now.
4th graders have so much
energy! I can’t keep up with
them on the playground as they
whiz around playing tag or kick-
ball.
We have a busy schedule in November. We welcome grand-
parents to school on Tuesday,
November 10th to get a little
taste of what we do. We will
hold a Veteran’s Day program
that afternoon. Our students
will be heading to WBHS to see
a sneak-peek of Bye Bye Birdie.
The Harlem Wizards will be
here on the 16th (and yes, Mr.
Fowler has been recruited to
take them on). We will have a
Thanksgiving Feast on the 20th
to get students ready for the
upcoming holiday. Our PTO
continues to plan and imple-
ment amazing events for all our
students each month. They are
Message from the Principal
Stay After and Elementary Night a Huge Success
3rd and 4th graders had the
opportunity to “Stay After” on
Friday, October 9th thanks to
our PTO. Students had a great
time participating in a Dance
Off, a floor scooter race, getting
Warrior tattoos, playing dodge-
ball, and minute to win it. Cook-
ies, juice, snocones, and pizza
rounded out the night as stu-dents prepared to make their
way to the football stadium.
Lining the entrance to the
field, all elementary students
cheered, clapped, and fist
bumped as our West Branch
Warriors made their entrance
for the game against Louisville.
A big thank you to Mr. Manley
and all of the teachers and par-
ents who helped make this pos-
sible.

ribbon is a reminder to our students to be drug and bully free every day.
The week started off with “Wear Red to School” followed by “Give
drugs the boot” (students wore their favorite pair of boots to school),
“It’s no sweat to stand up to bullies” (students wore sweat pants and
shirts), “Be a hero, bot a bully” (students wore their favorite superhero
clothes), and “We are West Branch” (students wore green and white to
represent how strong we are when we stay drug free and stand up
against bullying. Thank you, Ms. Rolston, for organizing the week and
thanks to all of our students who participated.
Mrs. Helms’ class celebrated Superhero day by designing their
own capes from shower curtains.

The Knox PTO is excited to announce the upcoming events for November. The Fall Fundraiser will be available for pick up sometime during the week of November 09th. Grandparents Day will be November 10th, grades 3 and 4 will be from 10-11am and grades k-2 will be from 1-2pm with the veterans program at 2:15. Grandparents will go to the classrooms and refreshments will be served. We will have later events for the parents so this is for grandparents or a special friend only. A form has been sent home that needs to be returned so we can get a head count. On November 13th we will do Movie night with babysitting. Parents can drop their kids off at 5:00 and they must be picked up by 9:30. Look for a flyer to come home soon with more details. Our new Harvest Feast will be November 20th. This will allow parents to sit with their child at lunchtime (Parents will not be eating). Our annual shirt sale will be going home with the kids Friday 10/30 and will end on 11/13. All orders will be available for pick up (or sent home with child) on 12/11, just in time for Christmas. This year we have done a website so everyone can go on and not only see all the designs but also place their order and even pay online with a credit card. Paper orders paid by check or cash is still available also. The website is https://knoxpto.promocheckout.com.

Directions to “Follow the yellow brick

sweet treats along the way. This year’s
Harvest Walkthru was a huge success
as students trick-or-treated, took part
in a fall hayride, visited the “Spooky
Science” lab, jumped in the bounce
houses, and enjoyed lots of other
treats. To help get the festivities started,
Knox students helped room parents
decorate classroom doors to the
