FOREWORD

This document "KOC Standard Specification for Porta Cabins " (KOC-C-035) is intended to cover the general technical specifications of Portable Cabins (Porta Cabins), to be used in KOC for limited period to serve various purposes.

This Standard Specification has been approved by Standards Team in consultation with the Standards Technical Committee (STC), which is to be consistently utilized by KOC Teams as required throughout KOC for the corporate engineering and operation functions of Kuwait Oil Company (K.S.C).

This Standard Specification sets out to achieve the following objectives: -

a. To establish the general requirements of Porta Cabins as minimum, to be used in KOC for a limited period of time in order to serve the intended purposes safely and satisfling KOC HSE concerns in this regard.

b. To reuse Porta Cabins which are used purely in construction for limited period of time (I 1 year), if they are in good, serviceable and safe condition; and being approved by respective KOC Asset Owner 1 Directorate HSE Team or Safety Teams.

c. To use Porta Cabins for longer period of time (but < 5 years) as offices, store, equipment room, security room and other miscellaneous purposes outside the facilities.

d, To develop as a standard technical guide for the basic features of protection against HSE concerns on Porta Cabins. Any special feature shall be added on case by case basis on specific needs and purpose of use.

1.0 SCOPE

1.1 This Standard Specification describes the minimum basic requirements of Portable Cabins (Porta Cabins) with a view to provide intended services with increased safety, for use in KOC for various purposes.

1.2 However, the actual requirements of particular purpose and use shall be specified depending on limited numbers of users in the specific procurement / purchase order or project documents in compliance with this Standard Specification.

1.3 Portable Cabins of heavier construction (category class I service life > 1 year d 5 year) shall be used for offices, store, equipment room, guard houses, security check points within KOC areas and at remote isolated places for longer periods (5 5 years), while they are to be maintained in good, serviceable and safe conditions.

1.4 Portable Cabins of limited sizes and lighter construction may be set up for offices, store etc. during construction period for limited time (category class I1 service life 5 1 year) by the Contractor, but shall never be used for residence of workmen (except in temporary drilling sites). They may be reused if found to be in good, safe and serviceable condition, being approved by KOC Asset Owner / Directorate HSE Team or Safety Teams.

2.0 APPLICATION

2.1 The design, material, installation and safety features shall conform to the requirements of this Standard Specification and referenced standards 1 codes mentioned herein.

2.2 Any exceptions or deviations from this Standard Specification, along with their merits and justifications, shall be brought to the attention of KOC Controlling Team for their review, consideration and amendment by Standards Team (if required).

2.3 Compliance with this KOC Standard Specification does not of itself confer immunity from legal and statutory obligations.

3.0 TERMINOLOGY

3.1 Definitions

For the purpose of this Standard Specification, the following definition shall apply.

3.1.1 Porta-Cabins

a. Category Class I

Porta Cabins of light to medium weight, single storied, steel clad room or rooms of limited sizes are used generally for temporary offices and store, as well as keeping equipment safely indoor and protecting security guards from harsh weather etc. are considered as category class I having intended service life limited to a period not more than five (5) years; and which can be transportable (portable) to other places by means of a crane and trailer trucks.

b. Category Class I1

Porta Cabins of light weight, single storied, room or series of steel clad rooms of limited sizes (Type A or Type B for 4 to 5 persons per room) are considered as category class I1 having intended service life less than one (1) year, which can be transportable (portable) to other places by means of a crane and trailer trucks.

4.0 REFERENCE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS

4.1 Conflicts

In the event of conflicts between this Standard Specification and standards / codes referenced herein or other contractual requirements, the most stringent requirement shall apply. In case further clarifications are required, the subject shall be brought to the attention of KOC Controlling Team.

5.0 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

5.1 The environment of Kuwait is severe, and must be considered carefully for selection and before procurement of plant and equipment.

5.2 For environmental conditions in Kuwait, refer to "KOC Standard for Basic Design Data", (KOC-G-007), which provides the detailed design idonnation regarding the environmental, site and utility supply conditions prevailing throughout the KOC facilities.

6.0 HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

6.1 The Contractor / User shall assure the compliance of all HSE requirements to minimize the consequences and impacts of hazards on the surrounding environment and adjoining facilities.

6.2 All relevant HSE requirements of the KOC Fire & Safety Regulations, KOC Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), KOC HSE Procedures and Kuwait Environment Public Authority shall be adhered to within KOC areas.

7.0 GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

7.1 Location & Safe Distances

7.1.1 Portable Cabins of any purpose and type shall be set up at a safe and suitable distance as directed by the respective KOC Asset Owner / Directorate HSE Team or Safety Team.

7.1.2 Portable Cabins shall be located outside the area of KOC Plants (GC / BS / Other Facilities) but within KOC Fenced area, and shall be installed at locations in compliance with KOC-L- 028 "KOC RP for Plant Layout" (as per Spacing Chart-2 of Appendix-1) or minimum 100 m away from the boundary of process area according to API RP 753, whichever is greater.

7.1.3 For overhead power transmission up to 11 kV lines, it shall be set up at a suitable distance not less than 20.0 m away from its poles / structures. Refer to "KOC RP for the Protection of KOC Services: Clearance Requirements for . . . .." (KOC-L-002).

7.1.4 Generally Portable Cabins for any purpose shall have clear spaces all around, but not less than 6.0 m from any other nearby office or site office; and 6.0 m from any overhead cable.

7.1.5 While finalizing the location of Portable Cabins, the following factors shall be considered:

a. No Portable Cabin shall be constructed /placed over any underground services.

b. The orientation and layout of the Portable Cabins and their ventilation should be considered in view of prevailing wind direction to avoid any harmful consequence of major toxic release.

c. It is recommended not to destroy desert vegetation; and to preserve it arid areas should be used preferably for locating Portable Cabins.

d. Wind socks should be provided at the locations of all Porta Cabins for personnel to know the wind direction.

e. No Portable Cabins shall be located inside the plants (GCs, BSs etc.).

7.1.6 Any other requirements that are essential for the safety of Porta Cabin occupant and those are not specifically provided by this Standard Specification shall be determined by KOC HSE Team / Asset Owner / Controlling Team.

7.2 Adverse Ground Condition

If ground condition of the selected location surrounding Porta Cabin is found to be unfavourable having rough undulating terrain, alternative suitable location should be chosen. Otherwise some remedial measures such as proper leveling or dressing the area may be considered prior to installation. For low lying areas elevated Porta Cabins shall be recommended to avoid flooding.

7.3 Fire Resistant Properties

Portable Cabins of any type shall be provided with materials having minimum one (1) hour fire rating as specified in "KOC Standard for Basic Civil Engineering Design Data" (KOC- C-001) and as tested and proven by BS 476 Part 20.

7.4 Fire Protection Measures

7.4.1 The following fire protection measures shall be installed for safety consideration as below:

a. Portable Cabins shall be provided with the adequate Nos. of fire and gas (F&G) detection equipment as specified in the relevant project specification; and they shall be in compliance with "KOC Standard for Fire and Gas Detection Equipment" (KOC-L-006)".

b. They shall be connected to a common F&G control panel in the area to activate the fire emergency alarm system whenever needed.

c. The fire alarm shall be installed at strategic locations outside the Portable Cabins and when sounded should be audible and visual to all offices.

7.4.2 Portable Cabins shall be fitted with fire extinguishers as per "KOC Standard for Fire Protection and Safety Equipment" (KOC-L-009). They shall be checked at KOC Fire Station and shall be installed, as decided on the area basis by the User / Supplier in accordance with KOC-L-009 and as given in Table I of this Standard Specification.

7.4.3 The location of nearest fire hydrant / fire hose reel / fire extinguisher shall be shown in the escape route diagram and their adequacy shall be approved by the KOC Fire Team.

7.4.4 Butane Gas 1 LPG Cylinders and Gas Cooker shall never be used in Porta Cabins. Electric hot plate is recommended for safe use in pantry in the specific heat insulated area.

7.5 Fire Stops

7.5.1 All fire stop 1 smoke seal material shall be provided by the Contractor in the designated areas with approved material of sufficient thickness, width, and density to achieve a fire rating at least equal to the floor, wall or portion constructed into which it is installed, as per KOC-C- 001.

7.5.2 All fire stop 1 smoke seal material shall be tested by a recognized, independent testing agency and shall conform to both (F-rating) and temperature (T-rating) requirements of ASTM E814.

7.5.3 All fire stops shall be installed in position as per Manufacturer's instructions.

7.6 Pest Control

Space under Porta Cabin floors and ground should be protected by wire mesh from all sides to prevent rodents from hiding, and accumulation of garbage and disposals under it or as specified by KOC HSE Team in order to make the place free from the menace of insects and rodents.

7.7 Marking of Porta Cabins

7.7.1 All Porta Cabins shall be marked with the date and year of manufacture, which shall be embossed clearly outside the centre of entrance door at visible height in "Bold and Capital Letters" with KOC approved paints for ease of identification.

7.7.2 The embossing shall contain the following information as below:

7.7.3 Porta Cabin(s) after their intended service life shall be discarded for good; and shall be demolished as per the KOC procedure.

8.0 BASIC TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

8.1 General

8.1.1 Due to temporary nature and ease of transportability (as required) Porta Cabins shall be single storied room or multiple rooms of limited size.

8.1.2 Porta Cabins shall be sized for the intended purpose; and according to the number of users (generally not more than four to five persons per room) and their requirements. Refer to the sketches of Type A or Type B Porta Cabins in Appendices of this Standard Specification for guidance only.

8.1.3 Porta Cabins shall be of pre-painted light steel construction with steel frames (H-beams etc.) and roof trusses, to support roofs and floors. They shall be enclosed by either galvanized sheeting, or insulated light weight concrete panels of suitable thickness with reinforcing steel fabric and 1 or as specified in the Project specification and drawings.

8.1.4 They shall be either purchased being completely built by the manufacturer or being constructed at site by the Contractor, in compliance with the basic technical requirements as described in the following clauses of this Standard Specification.

8.2 Structural Steel Framework

8.2.1 The Contractor shall submit pre-engineered structural drawings including all relevant details, and schedules for fabrication with design calculations for KOC review and approval prior to fabrication. Refer to "KOC Standard for Structural Steelwork - Materials, Fabrication and Erection" (KOC-C-007) for further information.

8.2.2 The structural frame work shall be made of steel H beams for main frames and shall be designed as portal. Angles may be used for side girt and roof purlin.

As an alternative to portal construction, roof may also be designed as trusses hinged at top of columns. The frame work shall be designed as fixed at bottom plates and shall be properly anchored with number of bolts in the concrete foundation for fixity.

8.2.3 The frame work shall be provided with angle wind bracings at roof and sides for lateral stability for both types of construction.

8.2.4 The frame work shall consider also erection loads in design and calculation for the same shall be submitted for KOC review and approval. The Contractor shall provide erection drawings with the total erection and installed loads.

8.2.5 All steel sections shall be of carbon steel grade conforming to ASTM A36 or BS EN 10025 Grade S275JR or equivalent.

8.2.6 All joints shall be either fully welded as per AWS D1.l or bolted with high strength bolts as per ASTM A325 / A490 or BS 3692 Grade 8.8. All welding procedures and welding qualifications shall be as per AWS D 1.1. For further details refer to KOC-C-007.

8.2.7 Prior to any fabrication work, all steel sections shall be blast cleaned from dirt, rust, oil, grease and other impurities in compliance with "KOC Standard for Painting and Coating of Metal Surface - New Construction" (KOC-P-001) by suitable abrasive (grit or grit / shot combination) to achieve a surface cleanliness as defined in EN IS0 8501-1 Sa 2.5 / NACE 2 / SSPC -SP10 Near White Blast.

Use of Silica sand is prohibited in KOC as an abrasive due to serious health effects from inhalation of the toxic dust production.

8.2.8 The concrete foundations / footings shall be designed with all the loads by the Contractor and shall be submitted for KOC approval. Concrete shall be laid with grade / strength class not less than Grade D / C30 in accordance with "KOC Standard for Concrete Work - Materials and Construction" (KOC-C-006).

8.2.9 Permanent lifting lugs shall be provided to the structural frame work for handling.

8.3 Metal Claddings -Walls and Roofs

8.3.1 External walls and roof shall comprise of 75 mm thick polyurethane insulated sandwich panels with profiled pre-painted galvanized metal sheets of thickness, for the Porta Cabins of category class I & I1 as below:

a. not less than 0.7 rnrn on both sides for class I category (> 1 year life); and

b. not less than 0.5 mm on both sides for class I1 category (< 1 year life).

8.3.2 The hot-Dip galvanized steel sheets for walls and roof shall comply with BS EN 10143, Type G275 with minimum zinc coating weight 275 g/m2 total both sides.

8.3.3 As external weather coat, a nominal 50 micron thick urethane coating pigmented in standard off-white colour shall be applied on both sides of the metal panels.

8.3.4 An internal coat shall be applied with nominal 20 micron thick stoving polyester coating in standard off-white colour.

8.3.5 Normally the overall wall and roof cladding shall be designed to achieve a minimum thermal conductivity meeting 'U' value of 0.8 w / ~ ~ / ' c in compliance with 0 15-RH- 100 1.

8.3.6 Fasteners shall be stainless steel weatherd drive screws fitted with integral stainless steel washer and sealant washer as approved.

8.3.7 Flashings shall be fabricated from sheet metal compatible with cladding and coated as cladding sheets and shall be KOC approved. End closures shall be applied as required for a weather tight installation.

8.3.8 Skirting shall be provided on the interior faces of walls except in pantry and toilet as shown in the drawings, and shall be made of 3 mm thick, 100 mm high PVC material or approved equal. The colour shall be decided on site.

8.4 Internal Walls

8.4.1 Internal walls as partition between the rooms of Porta Cabins of both class I or class I1 category shall be constructed with sandwich metal sheets having similar specification as in clause 8.3.1 (a) or (b) of this Standard Specification, except it shall be of 50 mm thick.

8.4.2 As an alternative to clause 8.4.1 above, they may be made of double layered each 16 mm thick solid gypsum wall board, fixed in galvanized steel frames suitable for partition as per clause 13.2.2 of 01 5-RH-1001. Partition shall include hollow metal frames for doors and fixed glass windows. The partitions shall comply with BS 5234 and BS 7364. Joints shall be tapered, taped and filled.

8.4.3 Gypsum boards shall be provided with all accessories for installation in accordance with BS 8212 as shown in the approved drawings. It shall be supplied in 1220 mm widths and in such lengths that will result in minimum joints.

8.4.4 Metal trims shall be formed from zinc coated steel not lighter than 26 gauge.

8.5 Suspended Ceilings

8.5.1 Suspended ceiling shall comprise of 16 rnrn thick acoustic tiles in 600 mm x 600 mm sizes, supplied by the Contractor from a KOC approved Manufacturer with all fixing accessories. Tiles shall have two (2) hour fire certificate from a recognized test establishment in conformity to BS 476, Part 20.

8.5.2 Tiles shall be generally inert non combustible, non-reflecting acoustic mineral fibre tiles with a self-finish and shall be suspended from a exposed inverted T lay-in grid system as per KOC approved reflected ceiling plan.

8.5.3 All concealed grid components shall be zinc coated or galvanized pressed steel sections, secured to the underside of roof by pre-tensioned wire or angle sections hangers at 1200 mm maximum centres. Pre-formed channels, main runners, cross T-bars and other accessories shall be fixed as per the KOC approved procedures and Manufacturer instructions.

8.5.4 Prior to fixing of all ceiling tiles, other jobs related to cables, pipe work and plumbing installations above ceiling level shall be completed in compliance with relevant approved drawings. Fire and smoke barrier if specified by KOC HSE Team, shall be installed in accordance with approved Manufacturer's details.

8.5.5 All grid levels shall be made within tolerance of one (1) in 1000 and straight within a tolerance of one (1) in 1000. It shall be made sure that deflection should not exceed 11360 span of 1220 mm simple span.

8.6 Flooring with PVC Tiles

8.6.1 Flooring of Porta Cabins shall be installed generally at 600 mm above the finished compacted ground level or as required, over a grid of steel beams connected to the main structural framework, and shall be spaced to ensure that the deflection is limited to human comforts for walking as per building code.

8.6.2 Flooring shall be made with 20 mm thick plywood boards of approved quality, finished with 5 mm thick PVC tiles supplied by a KOC approved Manufacturer; and they shall be installed as shown on the approved construction drawings.

8.6.3 PVC tiles shall be procured generally in sizes of 300 mm x 300 mm x 5 mm thick and shall be heavy duty and anti-static with the required adhesives from KOC approved Manufacturer. Colour and texture shall be KOC approved and shall be fiee from any visible defects.

8.6.4 Skirting shall also comply with the similar material specification except that it shall be 3 mm thick.

8.7 Ceramic Floor Tiles

8.7.1 Toilet and pantry room shall be provided with non-slip vitrified ceramic floor tiles fi-om KOC approved supplier to sizes of 200 mm x 200 mm x 8 mm thick in compliance with the requirements of BS 643 1 Parts 1 & 2.

8.7.2 They shall be wetted for at least 6 hours before laying; and then be placed on 30 mm thick freshly laid setting bed over the plywood board with 1:4 cement sand mortar. Approved waterproofing admixture shall be added to the mortar as required as per the Manufacturer specification.

8.7.3 A thin layer of neat cement paste shall be spread over the mortar bed and the backs of tiles immediately before laying. A constant slope of 1% shall be maintained towards the nearest floor drain on all tile surfaces.

8.7.4 Joints between tiles shall be regular and follow a pattern with walls; and shall neither be less than 2.5 mm nor more than 3 mm in width. Joints shall be grouted with a mix of approved materials such as cement, sand and other water resistant ingredients as per the Manufacturer's recommendations.

8.7.5 Curing shall be done for at least 72 hours for newly laid ceramic tiles before carrying out other works.

8.8 Glazed Ceramic Wall Tiles

8.8.1 Toilet and pantry room walls shall be provided with bevel edged glazed ceramic tiles from the same supplier to sizes of 200 mm x 200 mrn x 6 mm thick in compliance with the requirements of BS 643 1 Parts 1 & 2.

8.8.2 They shall be placed on freshly laid setting bed of 13 mm thick with 1.4 cement sand mortar and firmly tapped into the mortar with straight close joints with a gap of 2.5 mm in regular pattern. Any mortar extruded between the joints shall be wiped off with damp cloth and tiles shall be checked for final level before grouting.

8.8.3 Grout shall be factory mixed non shrinking water-proof cementitious material as approved by KOC as per the Manufacturer instructions. The joints shall be pointed and filled completely by spreading the grout.

8.8.4 Ceramic tiled areas shall be thoroughly cleaned with soap and water, when pointing has hardened sufficiently. In no case shall soda or sulphate containing solutions be used for cleaning purposes.

8.9 Doors and Windows

8.9.1 All doors and windows shall be supplied by the Contractor in accordance with approved door & window schedules; and shall be installed as per approved construction drawings.

8.9.2 All doors shall be single leaf and 2100 mm high; widths shall be 1000 mm for external doors and minimum 900 mm for others. Windows shall be of double leaf, and shall be provided with 4 mm thick clear glass view port of 350 mm wide x 750 mm high except toilets. Doors and windows shall open towards outside. Main exit and entry door shall be provided with visible glass panels to avoid possible collision between the entrants.

8.9.3 The doors shall be installed with the following requirements as below:

a. The main entry and exit doors shall be made of 2.5 mm thick extruded aluminum framing of not less than 50 rnm wide unless otherwise specified, with recommended alloy and temper for fabrication. Anodized aluminum sheets of minimum 2 rnrn thick or as specified shall be used as per BS 3987 with suitable temper for door assembly with all necessary fixtures and hardware to develop proper strength and hnctional reliability.

b. Emergency push bar lock shall be shall be installed from inside in the external door of Porta cabins.

c. All outside openings shall be screened with 16 mesh material.

d. Doors should be close fitting with sealing strips to prevent rodents from entering.

e. One exit door shall be marked with exit sign and shall be provided with escape route from the workplace area, which shall be approved by the KOC Fire Team.

For Porta cabins of larger capacity (if used), alternate exit door with clearly marked exit signs shall be provided for emergency exit.

8.9.4 All windows shall be installed with the following requirements as below:

a. All windows shall be made of either Aluminium extruded sections not less than 1.8 mm thick and not less than 50 mm wide, or Aluminium sheets and plates of minimum 2.0 mm thick, to the sizes as specified in the KOC approved drawing. Suitable alloy and temper for forming and fabricating shall be provided as recommended by the Aluminium Manufacturer to match colour and finish. They shall be powder coated of KOC approved colour and shall be supplied complete with proper anchors for the installation.

b. Windows in toilet rooms shall not be less than 0.54 m2 (6 ft2) in area, opening directly to the outside area or otherwise be adequately ventilated.

c. All windows shall be fitted with fixed fine mesh wire screens to prevent entry of insects and rodents.

8.9.5 Door and window units shall be tested for performance as per ASTM E330 and the maximum deflection of any member shall not exceed 11175 of its span when tested under uniform loading and shall have no evidence of permanent deformation or damage when the load is removed.

8.9.6 Door shall be installed with a clearance of 2 mm at heads and jambs, and 6 mm above finish floor except for carpet, where it shall be 15 mm.

8.9.7 Aluminum doors and windows shall be erected with the following tolerances as below:

a. 3 mm maximum variation from plumb.

b. 3 mm maximum variation from level.

8.10 Toilet and Pantrv Fixtures

8.10.1 The toilet room shall be equipped with the following fixtures as described below:

a. Supply and install one (1) white glazed fire clay western type pedestal water closet as manufactured by Roca, Ideal or Twyfords, including white glazed flushing cistern, flexible hose with lever action spray valve, complete with all the necessary fittings and fresh water pipes and drain line to the full satisfaction of KOC as per relevant approved drawings and specifications.

b. Supply and install one (1) urinal of 500 mm vitreous china single unit, wall mounted type with screen including flush pipe, spreaders and high level automatic flushing system as manufactured by Roca or approved equal.

c. Supply and install one (1) vitreous china wash hand basin of nominal size 560 mm x 450 mm as manufactured by Roca, Ideal or Twyfords complete, including fittings for hot and cold water with all pipes and drain line to the full satisfaction of KOC as per relevant approved drawings and specifications.

d. Supply and install one (1) shower unit complete with all the necessary fittings and mixers, autospray, pipes and drain line to the full satisfaction of KOC as per relevant approved drawings and specifications as manufactured by Roca or approved equal.

e. Supply and install one (1) wall mirror of sizes 400 mm wide x 500 mm high x 6 rnm thick plate of SG quality with 6 mm thick glass shelf as per BS 952 and integral light in front of each wash basin. Wash basin shall be fitted with liquid soap and paper towel dispensers.

f. Toilet room shall be finished with locking type toilet roll holder and trash containers.

g. Each toilet room shall be lighted naturally or artificially by a safe type of lighting at all hours of day and night.

8.10.2 The pantry room shall be equipped with the following fixtures as described below:

a. Supply and install one (1) electric hot plate with two (2) rings including all the necessary electrical connections.

b. Supply and install one (1) two door refrigerator of minimum 0.34 m3 capacity with all the necessary electrical connections.

c. Supply and install one (I) vitreous china wash hand basin of nominal size 560 mm x 450 mm as manufactured by Roca, Ideal or Twyfords complete, including fittings for hot and cold water with all pipes and drain line to the full satisfaction of KOC as per specification.

d. Supply and install one (1) double drainer stainless steel sink of nominal size 5 10 mm x 380 mm with fittings complying with BS EN 133 10. Taps shall be chrome plated mixer type-

e. Supply and install one (1) water filter.

f. Provision of hot and cold water with necessary pipes and drain lines.

g. Supply and install one (I) electric water heater of 8 kW, 250 V single phase instantaneous pressure type, complete with all the necessary stop cocks, pipes and electrical connections as per relevant approved specification.

h. Supply and install wall units, base units and continuous projecting work top made from good quality commercial laminated faced compressed impregnated particle board. They shall be acid and insect resistant.

Base units shall be fitted with shelves and drawer units and shall be provided below laminated continuous worktop. Shelves shall be located at a height of 600 mm on the wall units above the worktop. The whole installation shall be laminated, impervious and for complete wash down.

8.10.3 Toilet and pantry shall be equipped with suitable exhaust fan (having outlet self closing type during shutoff) from a good manufacturer.

8.10.4 All the items in clauses 8.10.1.& 8.10.2 above shall be of good, first hand quality from reputed KOC approved Manufacturers and shall be submitted to KOC for approval.

8.10.5 If necessary, the fresh water shall be supplied by means of 3000 gallons elevated tank having three (3) layer heat insulated polyethylene.

8.10.6 All waste water shall be disposed off underground to a percolating pit through a underground septic tank of 2000 US Gallon capacity. Septic tank shall have minimum body thickness between 7.0 mm to 8.5 mm, 50 mm high x 100 mm PU foam cored ribs, 500 mm spaced laminated with 3.0 mm thick GRP.

Periodic sewage collection and disposal to the designated treatment plant shall be organized by the Asset owner.

8.11 Access to Porta Cabin

8.1 1.1 Access to Porta Cabin shall be provided from outside to flooring through metallic staircase with handrails depending on height from the finished ground level.

8.1 1.2 However the steps shall have not less than 300 mrn wide tread and 1000 mrn clear length between stringers with riser not more than 200 mm high. They shall be made of perforated chequered plate of 8 mm thick; and shall be fully welded or bolted to the supporting member of MC 300 for fixity. Hand rails shall be as per KOC-C-007.

9.0 ELECTRICAL AND HVAC WORKS

9.1 The Contractor shall provide and install all electrically operated equipment, HVAC including instruments, fittings, components and accessories so that they will continue to operate safely and efficiently on a power supply of 4401415 Volts, 3 phase, 4 wires, 50 Hz , and 2501240 Volts single phase 50 Hz, as applicable with a tolerance of f6% for voltage and *2 % for frequency.

9.2 The Contractor shall confirm the compatibility of all electrical and instrumentation installations, outlets, lighting fixtures, fire and smoke detectors, fire alarms, cable and cable laying routes as per current KOC Electrical Standards listed in clause 4.2 of this Standard Specification.

9.3 The Contractor shall supply, install, test and commission power, control and earthing cables between electrical equipment and connections as required.

9.4 All the power cables shall be adequately sized and shall be of XLPEIS WA/PVC, whereas fire resistant cables with conduits shall be used for fire alarm system. Cables shall be separate for AC and DC from each other.

REV. 1 DOC. NO. KOC-C-035 1 9.5 All wiring shall be carried out through GI conduits over properly fixed supports. Earthing

shall be made with tinned copper earth bars 50 mm x 6 mm and rod type earth electrodes of 16 mm (518") x 300 mm (12") in earth pit complete with concrete cover for inspection as per KOC Standard KOC-E-024.

9.6 Earthing system shall be provided by using copper conductor of 450Vl750V grade green 1 yellow PVC insulated earthing cables, earthing rods, connectors etc. as given in KOC Standard 38 11020 "KOC General Specification for Electrical Engineering".

9.7 The underground cables shall be protected and labeled properly as per KOC practice.

9.8 All LAN and telephone cables with junction box arrangements shall be provided as per KOC Standard 38 11024.

9.9 In case of emergency, remote electrical isolations shall be possible to carry out effective fire fighting.

9.10 Each room shall be air-conditioned by means of split type room air-conditioner for both cooling and heating; and of sufficient capacity to maintain room conditions as per KOC Standard as minimum. The air conditioner shall have remote control unit along with it.

10.0 MISCELLANEOUS ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES

10.1 General

10.1.1 All miscellaneous electrical accessories shall be procured from KOC approved supplier 1 vendor and Manufacturers.

10.1.2 The Contractor shall submit a drawing of electrical distribution for review and approval.

10.2 Distribution Board

10.2.1 The distribution boards shall be sheet steel enclosed, waterproof, dust and vermin proof complete with all necessary insulated shielded bus bars with the rating of the incomer isolator.

10.2.2 The enclosure shall be of robust sheet steel construction, fully rust proofed and stove enameled, with lockable hinged doors. The board shall contain an on-load isolator with contactors for local and remote operation.

10.2.3 All MCB shall be equipped with a combination of thermal and magnetic tripping protection against overloads and instantaneous tripping under short circuit condition.

10.2.4 All MCB shall be quick make, quick break type with trip free mechanism to prevent the closure of the breaker under fault condition. It shall have a minimum breaking capacity of at least 9 kA and shall comply fully with BS EN 10898.

10.2.5 Distribution board shall be equipped with two ELCBs for power circuits and lighting circuits separately.

10.3 Switches and Small Power Outlet

10.3.1 All switches shall be rated for the use on 2501240 Volts, 50 Hz power supply and shall comply with BS 3676-1 and BS EN 60669-1. The switches shall be MK make or otherwise approved by KOC.

10.3.2 The socket outlets shall be general purpose switched type, three (3) rectangular pins (2P+E) pattern with shutter type contacts and shall be MK power center clang type or approved equal. The sensitivity of RCD switch sockets shall be 30 mA or 300 mA and shall be MK make. The minimum number of sockets per room shall be specified by KOC.

10.3.3 The power supply for mini split alc unit shall be a combination of 32 amp MCB and 2 pole ELCB installed in a weather proof enclosure.

10.4 Lightinp Fixtures

10.4.1 All fluorescent fittings shall be made of sealed housing, which shall be in white stove steel sheet with high torsion resistance. All holes shall be closed with silicon gaskets. The painting shall be stable to UV radiations and yellowing process. All wiring shall be silicon cable through ceiling Ross.

10.4.2 Emergency lighting fixtures shall have maintained type of lamps with a self contained battery pack having 90 minutes back-up. It shall have a pilot light indication for showing status of the battery. The battery shall be sealed maintenance free Ni-Cd type.

10.4.3 The 4x18 watt fluorescent fittings recessed type shall have high bright aluminum louver complete with ballasts, capacitors and lamps.

10.4.4 The emergency or exit light fittings shall be lx8w fluorescent tube for emergency lighting of continuous three (3) hours duration. The self contained emergency battery packs shall have sealed maintenance free high temperature Ni-Cd battery.

10.4.5 The wall mounted bulkhead lighting fixture shall be IP 54, made of strong die cast aluminum body and moulded glass cover.

10.4.6 The fluorescent fittings shall be UV resistant with acrylic diffuser IP44, complete with stainless steel toggle clips, capacitors and lamps.

10.4.7 The metal halide fitting shall be with control gear and shall have IP 55 degree of protection as a minimum. The photo cell and contactor shall be installed in IP 55 enclosure.

10.5 Air Extractor Fan

The wall I window mounted air extractor fan shall be of aluminum alloy motor with thermal overload, solenoid operated back draught shutters for instant opening and closing operations, shutter, duct and grills. The air extractor fan shall be X-pleair make or equal.

10.6 Power Cable

Power cables shall be 600/1000 Volts grade multi-core XLPE insulated and PVC sheathed galvanized steel wire armoured cables. Cables shall be of high conductivity copper stranded, shaped and laid in an approved manner. The conductor insulation shall be of high temperature hard grade PVC. A single layer of galvanized steel wire shall be provided as armouring over the bedding.

10.7 Wires

10.7.1 All wires shall be lOOOV grade, single core stranded annealed copper conductor, PVC insulated and shall comply with BS 6004.

10.7.2 All wires for electrical installation shall be installed in GI conduits.

10.7.3 The minimum wire sizes for small power outlets, lighting and fire alarm shall be 4.0 mm2, 2.5 rnm2 and 1.5 mm2 respectively; and shall be according to the electrical distribution drawing for KOC review and approval. Colour shall be as per KOC practice.

10.8 GI Conduits and Accessories

Wherever specified, the GI conduits and fittings shall be heavy gauge, galvanized type and shall provide adequate mechanical protection to the cables contained therein. The inside and outside surfaces of conduits shall be smooth and free from buns. The interior ends of conduit fittings shall have no sharp edges and the interior surfaces over which the cables are drawn shall be smooth and well rounded.

10.9 Cable Trays and Cable Trunking

10.9.1 Cable tray shall be heavy duty perforated metal type manufactured from mild steel and shall have hot-dip galvanized finish as per BS EN IS0 1461. It shall be easy to install and readily attachable anywhere. Runs shall provide easy access for maintenance.

10.9.2 Cable tray system shall be complete with straight trays, flat bends, inside and outside risers, toes and reducers etc.

10.9.3 Cable retainers shall be provided for power cable installation and fixing the trays shall be securely supported.

10.9.4 Cable trunk shall be made from continuously hot-dip galvanized steel sheet and shall have covers neatly fixed on the body. Cable retainers shall be provided for cable installation and fixing.

10.10 Earthing

10.10.1 An earth bar of minimum size 70 mm2 shall be provided along the full length of each enclosure (battery charger and distribution board). All metallic non-current carrying parts shall be bonded together and connected to the earth bar. External MI0 earthing terminals shall be provided to facilitate connection of the enclosures to the earthing grid.

10.10.2Panel mounted equipment with exposed metal parts such as indicating lights, push buttons and relays shall be separately earthed.

10.10.3 Provision shall be made for connecting the earth continuity conductors and cable armouring of all outgoing circuits.

10.10.4Doors and hinged parts shall be bonded to the enclosure by means of a flexible copper connection, having a minimum cross sectional area of 6 m2. It shall be arranged in such a way that can not be trapped during opening or closing of the door.

10.10.5Connections from the main earth bar to component shall consist of copper strips or green/yellow PVC sheathed stranded copper conductors. Termination lugs shall be of compression type.

11.0 INSPECTION, SAMPLING AND TESTING

11.1 General

11.1.1 KOC shall have the right to inspect all tools and equipment; materials and workmanship involved in the construction of Porta Cabins to ensure compliance with this Standard.

1 1.1.2 The Contractor shall submit for KOC approval a Quality Plan and a Inspection & Test Plan that will provide the detailed activities of the work in a chronological way. The Inspection and Test Plan shall have columns indicating the activity, the contractual and specification requirements, the method of verification, the acceptance criteria, the document (test certificate or report) that will be generated as well as columns for indicating KOC markings for 'Witness' 0, 'Hold' (H), 'Review' (R), 'Monitor' (M) etc.

1 1.1.3 The Contractor shall perform at all stages of Works all the inspections and appropriate tests that are necessary to assure that the materials and workmanship meet fully the requirements of this Standard.

1 1.1.4 However, KOC reserves the right of independent inspection of the material and workmanship at all times to assure conformance to the approved construction drawings, specifications and KOC Standards as well as other National / International standards and codes referenced in clause 4.2 of this Standard.

11.2 Materials and Equipment Inspection

11.2.1 All materials shall be inspected to ensure conformance with relevant clauses of this Standard Specification.

1 1.2.2 All accessories to be used in the related civil construction work and laying of the materials shall be inspected to ensure compliance with the KOC Fire and Safety Regulations.

11.3 Visual Inspection

Visual inspection of works shall be made jointly by KOC and the Contractor regularly to oversee the quality of workmanship under clear lighting condition.

11.4 Sampling:

11.4.1 For purposes of test, representative samples shall be supplied to KOC by the Contractor in numbers, that are required for testing as specified.

11.4.2 In case of doubt, these samples shall be selected by KOC and properly marked for the additional testing.

1 1.4.3 In case of other materials used in this Works and if KOC has the doubts for quality of materials, KOC may ask the Contractor any time to furnish the samples for testing to confirm the material properties instead of literatures only.

11.5 Testing

All the required tests shall be conducted on the materials by the Contractor through an independent and reputed test laboratory, approved by KOC.

12.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE

The Contractor shall operate a quality system preferably based on IS0 9000 series of Standards to satisfy the requirements of this Standard. The Contractor shall demonstrate compliance by providing a copy of the accredited or the Contractor 1 Manufacturer quality manual. Verification of a Contractor quality system is normally part of the pre-qualification procedure, and is therefore not detailed in the core text of this Standard.

13.0 DOCUMENTATION

13.1 General

13.1.1 All correspondence, instructions, drawings, data sheets, design calculations or any other information shall be in the English language. In the case of dual languages, one language shall be English.

13.1.2 All dimensions, units of measurement, physical constants etc. shall be in SI units, unless otherwise specified.

13.1.3 All documents (texts, specifications, data sheets, methods, drawings etc.) shall be provided with electronic files in the approved software (MS Word, Excel, Auto Cad etc.). Design calculations shall be submitted in the approved and widely used software, agreed by KOC.

13.2 Work Records and Reports

13.2.1 The Contractor shall operate a detailed recording and reporting system on all aspects of works including inspections and testing. All relevant information shall be set out on a Site Record for Works within 48 hours of carrying out a specific work.

13.2.2 All test results of concrete work samples shall be submitted to KOC for review and approval within 24 hours of completion of tests.

13.2.3 Other test results and certificates of materials required for satisfactory execution of the Works shall be submitted to KOC for review and approval within the stipulated period as specified in the Contract documents.

13.3 Deliverables

The Contractor shall submit the necessary documents as a minimum to KOC for review and approval 1 acceptance as given below, but is not limited to the following only:

a. Design calculations of structural frame work of frames, roofs, floors etc.

b. Construction drawings showing plan, elevations and details outlining sizes, dimensions, materials and connections details for all footings, columns, pedestals, load bearing members and any other as applicable.

c. Erection plans including list of equipment and tools to be used.

d. Certified mill test reports for each shipment of structural steel, cement, reinforcing steel and embedded items.

e.. Laboratory results of satisfactory concrete test specimens for routine concrete work.

f. Electrical distribution drawing

g. Power distribution schedule

h. Lux level calculation.

. . i. LAN and telephone network drawing

j. Inspection and test plan (ITP) and QAIQC procedures. (For approval & mark-up)

k. As-built drawings.
