Te Kokoda rail was the scene o someo the bloodiest battles o World WarII and still carries the scars o a ercecampaign. Te Kokoda rail is the sitewhere the advancing Japanese orces losttheir campaign to claim Port Moresbyrom the back door in their ultimategoal to capture Australia. For those wholost amily members rom a previousgeneration in WWII this walk can be
an intensely emotional and spiritualexperience and indeed or all trekkersthe sheer beauty o the terrain andspectacular scenery is unorgettable. owalk the trail is by ar the most populartrek in Papua New Guinea and takesbetween 6-8 days to walk as you ascendand descend a range o simply stunningbut unbelievably challenging terrainincluding endless river crossings and rainorests. Conditions are usually wet andslippery and rain can be expected mostdays. emperatures range rom 24 - 30cdegrees in the day and 15 - 24c degreesat night.
