Gaming Module

New 4500 Communications Library Created for TimeWorks

Gaming Application

Labor Level Combinations –The user interface for options

involving labor level combinations has been enhanced for increased usability and flexibility. Labor level combinations

can now easily and quickly be defined and maintained

through flexible default values, intuitive data layouts, and

on-going summary views of defined combinations. Areas in

the application that are affected include Daily Processing >

Multi-Level Rate Maintenance, Gaming > Tip Compliance

Rate Maintenance, Gaming > Toke Pool Assignments, Setup

Maintenance > Shift Assignments and Utilities and Security

> Labor Level Set Profile Maintenance

A new option “Shift Assignments” was added to “Setup

Maintenance”. The “Shift Assignments allows the use to

configure the application so that the shift code value retrieved for a time record during the totalization process can

now be by labor level combinations, and the resulting shift

code value is stored on any resulting monetary adjustment

records. This allows for a single time record that overlaps

multiple shifts, to produce multiple monetary adjustment

records, one for each shift that was overlapped.

The Toke Pool options have been combined into one menu

option for usability. New security options have been created

to control access to functionality within the Toke Pool

Maintenance/Processing option to allow for different job

responsibilities.

Committee member amounts can either be entered directly to

employees who are on the committee, or they can also be

entered to a non-employee committee amount which also

would reduce the total allocated to the employees when

processing tokes. The toke pool screen was changed to show

the gross and net amounts due to the committee portion.

New security flags were added to control whether a user has

the authority within the Time Editor to cancel toke pool

assignments and/or use the new Manual Posting option.

Adjustment amounts to a toke pool in the form of direct

monetary amounts, or amounts of time to be included in the

distribution calculation, can now be entered for a toke pool.

Additionally, the adjustments may be labeled with a user-

defined adjustment reason code to identify the nature of the

adjustment. The toke pool screen was changed to show the

gross and net amounts due to the toke pool adjustments.

When defining a toke pool in the Toke Pool

Maintenance/Processing option, you can now specify 1/10th

hour rounding for a toke pool. This allows the system to

round partial amounts of time to the nearest 1/10th hour amount when allocating an employee’s time for the toke pool

2 distribution calculations. Previously, rounding was

available to the nearest hour amount.

When defining a toke pool in the Toke Pool

Maintenance/Processing option, you can now specify “Even”

as the method for toke pool distribution. This allows the

system to override all other allocation settings when

calculating the toke pool distributions and give all

participating employees equal amounts of the pool.

A new percentage field has been added to the Toke Pool

Assignments option to allow you to configure a percentage to

be applied to an employee’s time that would be included in a

toke pool. Previously, the inclusion of time in a toke pool

was based solely upon the designated labor level combination, and assumed to be 100%. Now, in addition to

the labor level combination, you are able to designate what

percentage of the qualifying time would be included in the

toke pool distribution calculation.

When defining a toke pool in the Toke Pool

Maintenance/Processing option, you can now specify

whether once the monetary adjustment amount has been

calculated, remove the fractional amount to create whole

value. The fractional amounts will be accumulated and

optionally carried forward into the next period’s toke pool

depending on the setting of the Carry Forward field.

Example: $258.32 would adjust to $258.00, and the 0.32 could be simply noted on the processing report, or

automatically carried forward to the next toke pool.

New Hours Adjustment Field Added to Toke Pool Summary

Display. If a toke pool has any hours adjustments, the total of

those adjustments are now shown on the Toke Pool summary

display. Previously, you had to display the details for the

toke pool to see any hour adjustments.

New Rounding Methods Added for Toke Pool Processing

The rounding method for toke pool processing that supports

rounding to partial portions of the hour has been expanded to

support ¼ hour and ½ hour rounding. Previously, this

method only supported 1/10 hour rounding.

Rounding Parameters Added to Toke Pool Assignment Option

It is now possible to specify a rounding method and round

point for toke pool assignment definitions that will override

these same parameters defined for the toke pool in the “Toke

Pool Maintenance/Processing” option. This allows different

groups of employees to participate in the same toke pool, but

have their time rounded differently.

New Toke Pool Report Option It is now possible to produce

a report of the toke pool distribution information for selected

toke pools. Previously, this information was only available

from the report produced by the “Toke Pool Processing” –

“Process” option.

New Optional Time Extract Option There is now an option

for Kronos iSeries Central that is the equivalent of the

Timeworks Extract option 43. This option allows you to

build a file of employees’ time information named CKEXPTIM that can be exported for further reporting and

analysis.

New Security Profile to Control Access to Toke Pools A new

security profile has been added to allow you to control which

toke pools the user can access. This is done by creating the

new profile and assigning the profile in the user’s “User

Profile”.

A new “optional” designation has been added to the Skills

/Certifications processing to allow you to define job codes as

having a minimum number of optional Skills or

Certifications. Previously, Skills and Certifications were

either required for a job code or not. This new feature allows

you to designate multiple Skills and Certifications for a job

code, as minimally required.

New Function to Allow Tip Canceling for Tip Compliance Employees in Time Editor Option A new feature has been

added in “User Profile” option to allow the user to control

delete all tips (monetary adjustments) associated with a tip

compliance employee’s time record, without having to have

access to the “Monetary Adjustment” option.

New Gaming Clock Parameter for Automatic Disabling of

the Clock

A new parameter has been added to the “Time Clock

Maintenance” option to control the availability of the clock

during periods of inactivity. You may now specify the

number of minutes after which if there is no punch activity at

the clock, the system will set the clock’s Clock Enabled/Disabled status to “D” for “disabled.” Once the

clock’s Clock Enabled/Disabled status is set to “D” for

“disabled,” to accept punch activity once again, the status

must be set to “E” for “enabled” either using the Time Clock

Maintenance option, or by performing the :Clock Enable

transaction at the clock.

New Hours Totals for Wage Analysis Report The Wage

Analysis report now includes a total of the employees’ hours.

Previously, the report only included the total gross monetary

wages for each employee.

New Toke Pool Processing Parameters – In addition to being

able to exclude an employee from toke distribution

calculations, it is now possible to control what rates are used in the calculation. You may designate in the “People Editor”

that the employee’s home job rate, worked job rate, or the

greater of the home or worked job rate, be applied in the toke

distribution calculation.

New Toke Pool – Employee Report – There is now a report

of toke pool information which is sorted by employee, rather

than the toke pool. This report provides an “employee

perspective” of what toke pools they have been a part.

Job Code Certification Requirements Now Enforced in the

Time Editor – In previous versions of the application, only

Smartview transactions enforced certification requirements

for job codes, now when you attempt to charge time to a job

code that requires a certification and the employee’s

certification is expired, the Time Editor will prevent you

from completing the edit. A new parameter has been added

to the User Profiles option in Security to allow the user to override the message about a Gaming employee’s expired

certification and complete the edit to charge the time to Job

Code.

New Parameter for Shift to Control Rate Retrieval – It is now

possible to have the system use the date of a worked shift’s

out-punch, rather than the in-punch, to determine which rate

will be applied to the shift.

When defining a toke pool in the “Toke Pool

Maintenance/Processing” option, you can now specify

whether time for terminated employees will be included in

the distribution calculations. Previously, terminated

employees were automatically excluded from the

calculations.

Secondary Toke Pool Assignment - A second Toke Pool in

the Toke Pool Assignments function to allow time worked to be assigned to two Toke Pools rather than just one in

previous versions.

Appendix

Detailed description of listed features

This appendix provides more information on the features noted in this document that required a greater level of detail.

Each feature heading below links back to the corresponding feature within the table above:

1. Cumulative Source Code Installation

The source code installation has been modified to have cumulative source from service packs go into one

location, thus eliminating the search through source libraries for latest source program. All source code will

now go into the library KTSRCV51 and as each successive service pack is loaded, the source would replace the

prior version.

2. Archive/Test/Production Library Designations Users can now designate archive, test, and production libraries on one IBM iSeries Server when converting from previous

versions. Archive and Test libraries will not impact the Kronos iSeries licensing.

3. Date Format Routines Modified to Improve System Performance

The Clock Date Format (CLKDATFMT) program has been modified to eliminate redundant calls and to alleviate processing overhead. The modification will help improve overall system load for systems that are near processing

capacity. The date conversion routines are all behind-the-scenes processes. The main modification will allow the date

routines to be included within each compiled object at compile time, eliminating the need for the program call during execution.

4. New Modular Licensing by Employee Count The Kronos iSeries Central application can now be licensed by module. Previously, the employee count for Kronos

iSeries Central had to be consistent across the suite. The suite licensing structure has been collapsed and now each module

can individually be licensed for different employee counts. The application now controls the licensing for the individual modules within the new People Editor licensing screen. Kronos now requires that each employee be licensed for the

individual modules, and the system will monitor when the employee count has exceeded the purchased licenses.

5. Inherited Model for Object Authority The requirements for system authority have changed for the Kronos iSeries Central application. Kronos iSeries Central

V5.2 utilizes an inherited model for object authority. All programs and database objects will be owned by the user

“kronosownr” and public use will be set to *exclude. Users will be assigned to a new user group called “kronosgrup” which will be given *use authority to program objects. The program objects will all be compiled with the option to adopt

authority from the object’s owner, allowing the programs to have full access to the database objects. Using this new

model, customer no longer is required to grant “All Object Authority” to the Kronos program and database objects.

6. People Editor Maintenance Screens

The design of the People Editor has been enhanced so that from the main screen of the People Editor the user can navigate to the appropriate detail screen. Some of the screen choices are based on which modules the employee has been licensed

for. Detail screens include the following:

General Information - general details such as address, hire date, birth date, etc.

Rules - pay rules.

Location/Access - labor level assignments and authority profiles.

Scheduler - schedule codes and details. If you own Kronos iSeries Scheduler module and the employee is

licensed to use the Scheduler module fields will be available to assign an availability profile and schedule rule

profile.

Device Assignment - terminals an employee is assigned to as well as restriction profiles.

Additional Information - interactive voice response settings.

Licensing - lists all the modules that an organization is licensed to use and allows the user to mark employee to

count toward the module licenses. What an employee is licensed to will determine what options are available on

the first screen of the People Editor.

Access - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Access module and the employee is licensed to use the

module. The Access option is where the user will assign the access schedule code; roll schedule detail, and

restriction profile.

Accruals - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Accrual module and if the employee is licensed to

use the module. The Accruals option takes the user directly to the Accruals maintenance screen for assigning accrual profiles.

Activities - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Activities module and if the employee is licensed to

use the module. The Activities option will allow the user to assign the employees activity status and defaults.

Attendance - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Attendance module and the employee is licensed

to use the module. The Attendance option is where an Attendance Profile is assigned.

Debit - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Debit module and the employee is licensed to use the

module. The Debit option is where the employee can be assigned to a debit limit, split profile, and the number of

splits the employee allowed.

Employee/Terminal Entry - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Employee and/or Terminal Entry

modules. The Employee/Terminal Entry option allows the user to set the employee password, self-service profile, and restrictions.

Skills & Certifications - available if the customer owns the Kronos iSeries Scheduler module and the employee

is licensed to use the module. The employee can then be assigned to a specific skill and or skills and certification information can then be attached if required.

7. Pay Rule Building Blocks

Several new maintenance programs (building blocks) have been added to define each specific set of pay rules that

currently make up both daily and pay period rules. This allows for a particular set of rules to be set up once and reused over several daily and pay period rule profiles. Another new maintenance function was created that will allow the

customer to piece together the various building block rules to create the daily and pay period rule sets.

By separating the various rules into building blocks, the same building blocks can be used for multiple daily and pay

period rule sets. A change that is made to a building block rule (such as a rounding rule change) would then automatically apply to any daily rule that uses that building block.

8. Holiday Rules Profile

A new Holiday Rules Profile maintenance function was added to allow a user to enter pre-defined holiday rule sets.

These rules will be similar to those currently found in the “mass entry” function in iSeries Central. The current “holiday

prorate” rules found in the pay code file setup will also be moved to the Holiday Rules Profile. The Employee Maintenance function was modified to allow each employee to be (optionally) assigned to a holiday profile. The profile

the employee is assigned to will determine the rules for paying the employee benefit time for the holiday. A new table of

holiday dates has been created to allow the user to define which dates are considered holidays for the current and future

years. A new background processor job (see section 3.5) will monitor the holiday dates and automatically generate the holiday pay for each employee assigned to a holiday profile.

9. Values have been added to Company maintenance

The following values have been added to Company maintenance for Terminal Entry. These values control whether the

functions are available for use in the new Self-Service Profiles. The items designated “new control for 5.1” are items that were previously available, but are now controllable in the Self-Service profiles – those options:

Enable Change Password Option – new control for 5.1

Enable Add Hours Option

Enable Cancel Meal Option

Enable Transfer Option

Enable Accruals Inquiry Option – new control for 5.1

Enable Employee Inquiry Option – new control for 5.1

Enable Monetary Adjustment Option – new for 5.1

10. Retain Labor Level Transfer Data on Meal/Break Punch

In Company maintenance a new flag that controls how the system handles labor level data on time records when punches

are processed from a device or the Terminal Entry module was added. This flag does NOT impact manual edits performed

in the Time Editor option. If an employee performs a transfer and then punches out for a meal or break, you have the option of what labor levels are applied to the time record that's created when they punch in from the meal or break. Enter

"Y" to have the previous "transferred" labor level values applied to the next time record after the meal/break; enter "N" to

have the employee's default labor level values applied to the next time record after the meal/break.

11. Pay Rules – Building Blocks

Two new exceptions have been added for control in The Pay Period Rule Exception Block – Unauthorized Labor Level

and Unauthorized Pay Code. These two exceptions will be produced if an employee is assigned to one of the new Labor Level Profiles or Pay Code Profiles (see New User & Profiles Menu Option in the Security & User Profiles section of this

document) and a user has manually overridden a profile setting for that employee.

12. Various Company Maintenance Settings Moved to New User Profiles Maintenance in Utilities and Security

Time Editor Settings previously in Company Maintenance are now available in the User Profiles, formerly known as

Security User Profile Maintenance. Moving the settings will allow them to be set by user rather than globally. The following are now included in User Profiles:

Access to Clock Out Date - allow access to the Clock-Out Date field in the Time Editor.

Display Schedule When Absent - controls if an employee’s schedule hours display in the Time Editor when they

do not have a time record for that day.

Default Rounded /Actual Time - controls the default of rounded or actual time when accessing the

Time Editor.

13. New Access Controls for Kronos iSeries (HTML) Manager Module add to Company Maintenance

A new section for the Kronos iSeries Manager module has been added to Company Maintenance. The Manager

section provides settings for the minimum/maximum lengths and expiration information for the managers’

personal pin. The Kronos iSeries Manager timeout value is also included where the user can enter the number of

minutes from 5 to 60 that the Kronos iSeries Manager Module session will remain active with no activity.

14. Apply Tip Compliance Rate to Pay Code Hours

A new flag has been added to pay code definitions in Pay Code maintenance for the new optional Kronos iSeries Gaming

module. The new “Apply Tip Compliance Rate to Pay Code Hours” flag when set to a “Y” retrieves and applies rates from the Tip Compliance Rate table for the hours designated for this pay code.

15. Certifications Maintenance Moved to Setup and Maintenance

The Certification Maintenance program has been added to the Setup and Maintenance menu and removed from the

Kronos iSeries Scheduler menu. Previously, certifications applied only to the Kronos iSeries Scheduler module, but now they are also used by the new Kronos iSeries Gaming module. Employee Certifications are specified in the People Editor

and are only available if the employee is licensed for the Kronos iSeries Scheduler or Kronos iSeries Gaming module.

16. Full Screen Editor

The Full Screen Editor has been renamed Time Editor. The Time Editor Selection screen has been modified to allow for

the selection of all seven-labor levels instead of just three. In addition, a combination of levels may be selected for filtering of employees rather than just a single level.

Display changes have been made to the Punch Summary Screen. Day of the week text has been reduced to two

characters to accommodate a new notes field. Notes will contain A=Automatic Meal Deduction, M=Meal or B=Break, $=Dollar Adjustments, C=Comments and F=Forced Overtime. Additionally, multiple labor levels may

be displayed based on a setting in the User Profile configuration – the user still has the ability to roll through

individual labor levels.

A new user profile flag has been added to specify whether a user is restricted from approving punches at the

employee level within the Time Editor.

A new user profile flag has been added to optionally display an additional total at the bottom of the Time Editor

screen. This total will be a sum of the pay code breakdown rather than a total of the elapsed times for each punch

A new user profile flag has been added to control access to the employee number specified in the user profile. I

(Include) specifies that the user may edit punches only for the employee number entered. E (Exclude) specifies

that the user may edit punches for all employees (meeting other security entries) except for the employee number entered.

A new user profile flag has been added to restrict a user from approving punches at the employee summary level.

The dollar adjustments entry screen within the Time Editor will now show entries between the start date/time and

the end date/time selected on the Editor selection screen rather than all entries for the pay period.

The Time Editor’s Exception Selection Screen has two new questions – Show only Employees with Exceptions

and Show only punches with exceptions. This will allow the user the ability to change which employees and which time records are shown when the Time Editor is in Exceptions Only mode.

A new option has been added to the Time Editor. F23 will display a new screen, which shows the totals for

different labor levels. The F11 key will allow the user to view the totals for each individual level or all levels

configured in the user’s combination field in security file maintenance.

There is a new adjustment total next to the breakdown total on the time editor screen. This will show the total of

the monetary adjustments during the current pay period or the selected date range.

17. Purge Enhancement

The Purge program has been revised to allow for individual selection of the various files to be purged. This will allow certain data to be purged such as punch history or audit trail records while keeping time history on the system. Dates can

be selected individually for each of the files. An audit trail is generated each time the purge is run.

18. Audit Trails on All System Files

Two new options are now available, Audit Activation and Audit Inquiry under the Utilities and Security menu option. The

Audit Activation option controls what system files should be audited throughout the software. The user can now activate or deactivate an audit trail on virtually any and all database files within the application. The audit activation will track all

additions, deletions, and/or changes being made to the activated file. The Audit Inquiry option provides a view of the

audit trail, including information on the user ID, date/time, type of audit, and program. A filter on the audit is available so that the user can filter the audit information based on date, user, event, and program.

19. Test to Production Utility

A utility to move objects from a test environment to a production environment is now available. Changes can be made in a

test environment to daily rules, pay period rules, and pay codes. This utility will replace records in your production library

with the changed records from your test environment.

20. Message Duration Setting and Employee Acknowledgement A new option has been added to the Terminal Messaging Maintenance program to specify whether the message should be

displayed for the entire duration of the selected date range, or if it should not be displayed again after the employee

acknowledges receipt of the message at the clock. The ability to acknowledge a message can be done at the 4500 terminal in Smart View mode.

21. Schedule Assistant

In the Workload Planner when assigning employees to positions the user can access the Schedule Assistant. The Schedule

Assistant provides a list of employees that are qualified and available to work the position. Within the Schedule Assistant

the user will have access to eight user-defined columns that display information about the employees. The data may be filtered and sorted to display only certain employees in a desired order. The following data is available within the

Schedule Assistant. All can be filtered and/or sorted:

Available – based on the employee’s availability profile.

Badge Number – the employee’s badge number.

Certified – will show if the employee has all of the required certifications

Employee Number – the employee’s id number.

Expected Hours - actual worked hours for the pay period added to scheduled hours anticipated.

Hire Date – the employee’s hire date.

Home Labor Levels 1-7 – the employee’s home labor level assignments.

Pay Rate – the employee’s pay rate.

Pay Type – the employee’s pay type.

Phone Number – the employee’s phone number.

Scheduled Hours – the number of hours the employee is scheduled for the week.

Seniority Date – the employee’s seniority date.

Shift – the employee’s home shift.

Skill Level – a numerical value containing the relative skill level based on the skill ranking.

Status Code – the employee’s pay status.

Worked Hours – the number of hours the employee has worked this week that count toward overtime.

22. Schedule Rule Template

A schedule rule template allows for the creation of various schedule rules that can be applied to specific employees or groups of employees. When building the schedule rules, the user can designate the severity of the rule once the violation

has been met by indicating that system will “I” ignore the violation of the rule, “P” prevent the violation of the rule, or

“W” warn the user of the violation of the rule. Schedule rules include the following:

Minimum/maximum hours per day or week

Minimum/maximum days per week

Minimum/maximum shift length

Minimum time between shifts

Maximum consecutive days an employee can be scheduled

Availability violations

Employee scheduled for a labor level not authorized to work

Skills Violation

Certifications Violations

Employee is scheduled and has expired certification

Overlapping schedules

23. Schedule Rule Profile The schedule rule profile is assigned to employees in the People Editor and determines what schedule rules template

applies to an employee when they are being assigned to a schedule. The Schedule Rule Profile also allows a user to attach

an effective start and end date to handle seasonal rule changes.

24. Skills and Ranking

In Kronos iSeries Scheduler, a Skills Maintenance menu option is available to define the types of skills needed for each

position in your particular environment. The skills would then be available in the People Editor where each individual

employee can be assigned a specific skill set. Once a skill set is defined at the employee level, a ranking can be assigned

to show the level of skill the employee has with each assigned skill. When building a schedule with positions requiring a certain level of skill, only those employees who have the required skill set to fill the position will be available for the user

to choose from.

25. Certifications and Expiration Dates

A new certifications master has been added to define company wide certifications and to determine if an employee can be scheduled for a particular position. A new screen in the People Editor allows the user to specify which certifications a

particular employee has. If the employee has certification, the screen will allow the input of a certification “as of” date and

certification expiration date. The certification requirement and expiration date are checked and used during the employee assignment phase within the scheduler.

26. Availability Templates

Availability templates allow a user to define specific days and times of day a certain employee or group is available to

work. The template can be set to roll and the user can assign an effective date on which the template should start. The user can designate seven various times of the day, and flag each time segment as “A” for available or “U” for unavailable. The

Availability Template is assigned to an Availability Profile that is then set at the employee level in the People Editor.

27. Availability Profile

The Availability Profile is where an Availability Template is assigned and effective dates are defined. The Availability Profile controls if an employee is available when a user is trying to schedule them in the Scheduler by position or

employee using the Schedule Assistant. Employees are assigned to an Availability Profile in People Editor under

Scheduler.

28. Schedule Rule Violation Inquiry

Within the Scheduler, when assigning employees to positions, there is an option to view “Violations.” The violation inquiry lists the date, employee, the severity of the violation, and a description of the violation that occurred. Violations

are identified through the schedule work rules attached to each individual employee.

29. Employee Borrowing

When building a schedule and assigning employees to a position, there is an option in the Schedule Assistant called “Borrow.” This option provides a list of employees that the user can chose from when assigning employees to the

schedule. There is a “Borrowing Labor Level Profile” within security that controls which employees the user can access to

“borrow” for scheduling purposes. This is based on an employees’ labor level assignment in their employee master record.

30. Scheduler Reports

Reports for the Kronos iSeries Scheduler are available within Schedule Maintenance. Options to run the report include

sending to the printer or e-mail. There are three report choices:

Weekly Coverage Report - Provides a summary view of the positions and coverage needed in the schedule.

Weekly Schedules by Position Report - listed by position, coverage, and employees that are assigned.

Weekly Schedules by Employee - listed by employee and assignments.

31. New Labor Level Settings to Support Kronos iSeries Gaming Module New settings have been added to the Labor Level Maintenance program to support new features in the Kronos iSeries

Gaming module. The new settings only apply to the labor level specified on the Gaming Configuration screen. New

settings include the tip method, maximum meals allowed, normal shift length, and early out exception limit.

32. HTML based iSeries Manager Client

The new Kronos iSeries Manager application allows Kronos iSeries Central customers to slash server overhead and

provide a supervisory “portal” to effectively manage their workforce. The new HTML-based Kronos iSeries Manager

allows users to perform daily manager functions such as editing time records, running reports, and managing labor

resources. And include Genies and Hyperfind support, scheduling maintenance, and other expanded supervisory functionality. Because the Kronos iSeries Manager is HTML-based, system server requirements are a fraction of what

current iSeries JWALK (GUI) client resources utilize. The HTML-based iSeries Manager is simply another method to

deploy the Kronos iSeries application when accessing the application in a managerial role. It is important to note that all environments- HTML, JWALK GUI and 5250 Green Screen -can coexist on the same server

33. New HTML Web Based User Interface Option

Kronos iSeries Central introduces a new suite wide HTML web-based user interface for all Kronos iSeries Central role based users. In previous versions the only HTML-based options available were for manager and employee type users.

The new HTML web-based user interface provides a new and improved look to the Kronos iSeries Central application

across the entire suite. Features of the new user interface include drop down menus, hover over features and streamlined

navigation throughout the application. The HTML user interface leverages the existing technology framework of the IBM iSeries operating system utilizing the Apache server so no additional hardware components or servers required.

Benefits of the new HTML web-based user interface include the new look, feel, navigation, no applets needed, nothing needs to reside on the client except the browser and no need for any 3

rd party software.

It is important to note that JWALK GUI is no longer supported or sold in Kronos iSeries Central version 6 and that the Kronos application can be deployed in one of two ways 5250 Green Screen or in the new HTML-based method.

34. 4500 Communication Monitoring

A new “Group Device Monitor” option has been added to the communications selection screen to replace the “Ethernet

Group Maintenance” program. The communications monitoring program allows users to monitor 4000 series communications using a communication dashboard which provides detail such as job start and stop, host port, group

status, last message information, monitoring date and time, and record download information. The 4000 series monitoring

program provides organizations with the tools they need to better manage communications allowing you to be pro-active

versus reactive when there is a problem with the 4000 series terminals which can result in lost punches and downtime.

NOTE: The monitoring option is only available for 4500 terminals.

35. Improved Time Clock Communication Configuration Setup

The “Time Clock Communications” maintenance programs have been relocated and modified to simplify device

configuration. In previous versions of the application the configuration fields needed for each of the different type devices were combined therefore making it hard for a user to know which configuration fields were applicable to each device

type. Now with the improved communications setup the user will be prompted to enter the device type and based on the

clock selected the configuration screens will only display those configuration fields that apply to that clock type.

36. Time off Request

Within the release of Kronos iSeries Central version 6.0 release service pack 2 the functionality was added to the Kronos

iSeries Employee offering that allows employees to request time off via web access or via the 4500 terminal. Employees

make the request and using email notification (optional) the manager would receive an email notifying them that a new leave request had been submitted and was available for them to approve or reject the request using the “Managing Time

Off Requests” feature. Once the manager has approved the request the system will automatically create the timecard

and/or schedule entries automatically to record the time off.

37. Navigators and Widgets

Web Access (Kronos iSeries Manager) now includes a new optional Navigator dashboard approach to manage events that require

action in real time. The Navigator allows manager and supervisor users to see all relevant information pertaining to the managing of

their employees in one convenient dashboard, which also provides links that take them directly to the areas of the application where

actions can be taken.

Widgets are windows of information that can be assigned to a Navigator. The types of Widgets that can currently be configured are:

Employment Anniversaries, Employee Birthdays, Exceptions, Time Off Requests, Approaching Overtime, Scheduled Not Clocked in

conditions, Certification Expiration conditions and Approval/Attestation status.

Navigators and Widgets are only available in the web access and not the standard green screen interface.

New Widget Types added in SP 6 of Kronos iSeries Central 6.2 include:

On Premises

Consecutive Days

No Hours Worked

Pay Codes Incurred

38. Mobile Applications

As part of the Next Generation of Kronos iSeries Workforce Management, Kronos iSeries Mobile enables employees to use their mobile devices to access Kronos iSeries Central. Kronos iSeries Mobile allows managers and employees to complete basic functions

while on the go.

To access the functions of Kronos iSeries Mobile Manager and Kronos iSeries Mobile Employee, the end user must have Kronos
