November 2013 Community-managed knowledgebase Global-Level Descriptive data about e-resources

for library management Designed to be open to all, but targeted to

integrate with Kuali OLE and JISC’s Knowledgebase Plus

Global Open Knowledgebase (GOKb)

Open Knowledgebase using a standards-based architecture

User Interface and APIs to maintain and use the GOKb data

Data covered by a CC0 license Expose as linked data


Data model synchronized with JISC’s Knowledgebase Plus efforts

Logical organization of data is an extensible Bill of Materials model

GOKb will use a rules engine to cleanse and normalize ERM data from heterogeneous sources

The rules engine will accept rules from the community of functional experts without coding!

Code development will begin within the next month and will include a data explorer to browse the knowledgebase

GOKb will be deployed as a cloud service
