I had taken this out for a while because I was waiting to get clarification on our approval process from partners. Now we can talk about it. :)

would love to hear more about this...

We are looking for things that address equity - preschool teachers serve high need students and nearly none are certified for example...almost no school counselors & ELL certified. We are looking at our trends. Also almost no one in alt schools, detention centers, etc.

To capitalize on the instructional expertise of

board-certified teachers, by the fall of 2016, an increase

of 10% of NBCTs who participate in KyNT3 funded

(in whole or in part) programs will hold formally identified and compensated (with time or with money)

leadership roles in their school, district, state, or

other education organization, with funding

outside of NT3.

In spring 2016, at last 25% of non-NBCTs who hold formally identified and

compensated (with time or with money) leadership

roles in their school, district, state, or other education

organization and are involved in NT3-funded programs, will submit at

least one component as a National Board candidate.

SPECIFIC GOALS of NT3

By the winter of 2017, at least 10% of Kentucky teachers will be board-certified and every school in Kentucky will have at least one board-certified teacher.

This represents an increase of 1,200 NBCTs, including at least one NBCT in the 500 “red” schools currently without an NBCT.
