WHY?1. Every student should have great teachers.
2. Every school should have great leaders.
NT3 seeks to • recruit, develop and retain effective teachers;
• reposition teaching as a profession;
• improve student learning and lives;
• and ensure equity for students.
SPECIFIC GOALS of NT3
By the winter of 2017, at least 10% of Kentucky teachers will be board-certified and every school in Kentucky will have at least one board-certified teacher.
This represents an increase of 1,200 NBCTs, including at least one NBCT in the 500 “red” schools currently without an NBCT.
Increase visibility of,
buy-in for, and implementation of teacher leadership.
