Felice Trovatello immigrated to Australia in 1954 at the age of 18 with all his worldly possessions contained in one suitcase. With little knowledge of the English language or the Australian environment he set off with a dream for a better lifestyle.

Upon a visit to Central Victoria, Felice realised the climate was reminiscent of the Southern Italian region of Calabria where he originated. This inspired him to establish an Olive Grove and processing facility which now produces one of the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oils in the Southern Hemisphere.

Our Family Selection Extra Virgin Olive Oil, is processed from exclusively selected olives to deliver a superior quality product for the use in specialty dishes. This process is an effort we undertake as a family. We discuss which oils should be blended with which, and if necessary re-blend. The oil is sampled and re-sampled until it is considered to be the best in texture, quality and ultimately taste. Family Selection Extra Virgin Olive Oil has ensured us many awards and praise.

After several years of living in Australia Felice met and married Maria – whose family also has a passion for olives and olive oil. Maria also saw an opportunity for her foremothers recipes to become a part of the Kyneton Olive Oil Range. Hence the name Nonnas meaning grandmother. Our Nonnas Crushed Olives are processed in exactly the same way that our Grandmother used to. The traditional process we use today goes back for many generations and ensures the flavour and texture remains pure and consistent.

In the modern era where people have busy lifestyles we have introduced Infused Oils to add extra flavours to your meals without the inconvenience of sourcing items which maybe out of season. Hence you can spend more time enjoying your meals and less time preparing them. Once again we source the best and freshest ingredients to add to our Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Our Infused Oils are available in four flavours – Lemon, Herb, Garlic and the newest addition Basil. The use for these oils are endless, from the beginning of a Stirfry to drizzling over completed dishes..

Kyneton Olives also process, bottle and label for other growers who may be looking for that extra service. We also buy high quality olives from growers who wish to sell their harvest.
