8 A let ter was rea d from the Clerk of the Lon don County Council II ta t- ing t hat Council had recently undert aken in co-oper ati on with th e Lewis shyham Metr opolitan Borough Council th e widening to a width of 70 feet of a port ion of Bromley Read north of Beckenbam Lan e and a euggeet ion had since been made to t he Jmprovemenh Commi t tee of th e Council that before the land to th e south of Beckenham Lane is deve loped for building purposes arrangements should be made for cont inuing th e improvement and in this connect ion two proposal s had been submitted to the Committee (1) that th e widening of llromley Roa d should be cont inued to th e County boundary and (2) tha t th e wideni ng of Bromley Road should be continued for only a porti on of its length and t hat a new road on t he line suggeste d by the Londo n T raffic Branch of th e Board of T rad e should be formed aa hr amp8
