LIBRARY OPERATION Working Hours of Library

Monday to Saturday : 09:00 am to 04:00 pm

Circulation Hours 09:15 am – 10:00 am and 03:00 pm – 03:45 pm.

Closed Sundays and 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES No Food or Drinks in the Library Please turn off ringer on your cell phone and set it on vibrate

mode. Conduct cell phone conversations outside the library

entrance. Any reader observing a defect, or damage to any book or

manuscript shall point out the same to the Library Staff immediately.

Borrowers must satisfy themselves about the physical condition of the book before borrowing. Otherwise they will be responsible for any damage at the time of returning.

Books borrowed on a particular day will not be accepted for return on the same day.

Books taken for reference from the stack area need to be kept on the table and not to be merged on the shelves.

BORROWING SERVICE No. of books- 2 Lending duration- 7 days Fine

(First week) – 1.00 & (second week onwards) 2.00

The documents like Reference book, bound volumes of journals, loose issues of current journals are issued only to the Faculty as reference book

Library Borrower’s Card is not transferable. The books which are already issued can be

claimed/reserved at the issue counter. Loss of book must be reported immediately. In case of

lost of book, the borrower has to give the new copy of that lost book as replacement.

INTERNET BROWSING SERVICE

Class assigned projects have priority. Do not change the workstation setup or

software. Report hardware problems and viruses

quickly. Use OPAC Don’t use social networking sites

INFORMATION LITERACY AND SEARCH

Search for books in the following order Subject-wise Title-wise Author-wise

Boolean Search AND: Connecting your keywords with AND tells the search tool that

all the words must be present.  OR: Connecting your keywords with OR tells the search tool that

any of the words can be present.  NOT: Using NOT in front of a key word tells the search tool to

exclude any page containg that word. Some engines require you to use AND NOT
