It is said that just beyond this ocean of vines planted on this majestic terroir which seems to have been made for contemplation and prayer, a charterhouse used to stand. The original owners of the estate were the Croizet brothers in the first half of the 18 th century, and today the château is run by another pair of siblings, Jean-Philippe and Anne- Françoise Quié. With the typical ambition of today’s generation and a keen sense of detail both in the vineyard and in the winery, Jean-Philippe and Anne-Françoise expertly craft their La Chartreuse de Croizet-Bages as one worthy of its elder. This expert pair of winemakers have produced a simply majestic wine. Generous, fruity and charming, the 2010 vintage of "La Chartreuse de Croizet-Bages" perfectly embodies the gourmet style of the great Pauillac wines. Its deep colour, backed up by notes of violet and blackberry, suggests a moment of intense sensuality. Its prestigious terroir lends it refinement and balance. Harmonious, its length on the palate gives it a remarkable freshness, a symbol of pleasure and longevity.
