Kindergarten Orientation
Kindergarten
All incoming Kindergarteners will be assessed within the first weeks of school. These assessments focus on academic skills (letters/sounds, number sense, etc).
The first two weeks of Kindergarten are planned/paced by the Kinder team of teachers. This allows for change if needed.
Preppie Kindergarten assessments took place in the summer for families interested in this potential educational option.
Testing: Age 5 from July 1 to December 2 or by parent request; Qualify age appropriate based on Gesell Readiness Test (kindergarten developmental screening)

Opportunity to participate in a wide variety of interactive learning experiences to assist in the development of positive social/emotional skills

Focuses on PRE-READING that emphasizes: oral language development, phonological and phonemic awareness, vocabulary skill building, beginning phonics development and beginning writing practice

Kindergarten Schedule
Please send a small nutritious snack labeled with your child’s name.
If your child purchases lunch we recommend you pay in advance on-line or drop a check in the office.

Please take your child to the quad.
Please have a transportation plan to share with the teacher at their table.
If you are not able to accompany your child, please call the office or send a note with your child.
Your child will not be released to anyone not listed/noted.

Parents are not allowed in the lunch pavilion or the playground.

students should not arrive prior to 7:20 Parents must drop at designated drop off
areas and should exit campus immediately.
All students arriving prior to 7:35 must report to the lunch pavilion. Kinders will be escorted to designated area.

Visiting Our School
All K students report to the quad for the first three days of school.
After that, they are to report to the kinder playground.
If you are waiting with your child in their designated morning zone, please exit the school campus at the warning bell.
1st week exceptions…
Pick Up Students must be picked up at
the quad or cul-da-sac. If you arrive on campus prior
to the dismissal bell, please check into the office.
Volunteers Are Welcome & Needed
Information regarding classroom volunteering will go home the first week of school.
A PTA volunteer form will also be sent home.
All volunteers working with students must have a current TB clearance.
