Because they want to be-lieve that things will go back to normal, victims often feel trapped into just allowing the si-tuation to play out. Fear of change can be overwhelming, especially if the victim has been manipulated by his or her abuser. Victims may also struggle with accepting what’s happe-ning because they know their abuser closely, as a family member or friend. It’s important to recognize the signs of denial and how to break through those barriers that can keep a victim from true healing. We will host representatives of the Catholic Chris-tian Community from Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the Holy Land who will be displaying handcrafted olive wood religious figurines and articles. Due to
the political conflict and the reduction of tourism, the Catholic Community has come to depend more on
the sale of these articles abroad to survive. The woodcarvings are beautiful and reflect faith and love
for the Lord. Please consider purchasing a gift that will be remem-
bered and cherished for yourself or someone dear toď you. The handcrafted olive wood religious figu-rines and articles will be available for purchase after
all the weekend Masses.

Volunteers needed for Altar Society The Church is asking for volunteers who have a sincere desire to serve the church and the Lord in a special way. We need volunteers to give their time for a maximum of
two hours a day, once a week in a month to clean the church. It includes light dusting of the Altar, Sacristy and kitchen. Dusting and cleaning the pews, putting our Sun-day collection envelopes and any other “Special Collec-
tion envelopes” out.

season, we are holding our 4th annual Saints Christmas Village. We invite your ministry or business to join us this year, in
sponsoring and decorating a Christmas tree in our village. A tree will be provided for you at the village or if you like you
may bring your own. You may come and set up your tree with your own personal decorations that highlight your ministry or
business. Acceptance to sponsoring and decorate a tree must be turned in no later than November 1, 2019. There will be a spon-sor fee, of an unwrapped toy, which is donated to the St. Vin-cent DePaul H.O.P.E. shop (Helping Others Provide Enough). Trees must be decorated no later than November 30, 2019. We will provide a Sponsor sign, for your tree or you can provide a

Next year, 2020, is the 25th year of celebrating the Feast of Santo Nino de Cebu here in our Church. To prepare for this
momentous event, there will be a Lumpia & Chicken Adobo meal fundraiser on October 27, 2019, Sunday, from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the La Purisima Parish Hall. Tickets
