La Sucursal is an orchestra made up of 12 musicians performing their own re-pertory of “Salsa Brava”, with in-fluences from Latin Jazz, Black music, Ca-ribbean rhythms and West Indian music.

Emerged in 2004 in the neighborho-od of Raval, the bohemian and mul-ticultural side of Barcelona, several Colombian performers of different mu-sical styles found each other with the common passion to play “Salsa Brava”.

Influenced by artists from the 60s and 70’s from New York, La Sucursal S.A. was born, becoming the laboratory for Salsa and Latin music in Barcelona: a cosmopolitan project which involves ta-lented artists from several countries.

In 2008, La Sucursal SA launched its first production called Lo Nuestro - BCN Salsa Brava, including a cover version of La Bien Pagá, featuring Marina “La Ca-nillas” lead singer of Ojos de Brujo.

Since then the orchestra is con-solidated in the international Sal-sa scene, earning respect of musi-cians, critics, dancers and, of course,

the general public, being recog-nized by fans and specialists world-wide for its powerful and un-forgettable live shows.

La Sucursal SA has conducted over 250 performances in countries such as Spain, France, Belgium, Morocco, Portu-gal, Norway, Switzerland and Colombia and has collaborated and shared stage with major international artists such as Ruben Blades, Chucho Val-des, Juan Luis Guerra, Calle 13 Cheo Feliciano, Africando, Jimmy Bosch, La-33, Jamie Cul-lum, Ojos de Brujo, and many others.

IN 2011 the band realases its second pro-duction Sin Fronteras (With no borders), part of the project Descarga New York- Barcelona, featuring nuyoricans Frankie Vázquez and Hector Papote Jiménez.

The album, woldwide acclaimed, its presented in the first Salsa & Lat-in Jazz Barcelona Festival in front of more than 5.000 people,contributting to the big succes of this first edition with such artists like Ruben Blades, Chucho Valdes and Jimmy Bosch.

“Sin Fronteras”, La Sucursal S.A. sec-ond album, is the result of six years of study, experimentation and public outreach the orchestra has make the public dance, enjoy and listen a true musical formula in different parts of the world: explosive and unique.

The second album by La Sucursal S.A is out on spring 2011, full of “sen-timiento”, vintage salsa, danceable spirit and hot latin music: mambo, son, guajira and guaguancó. This is Gua-peria from Barcelona! “Sin Fronte-ras: rumba, guaracha y vacilón”.

DESCARGA NY-BCN

“Descarga Nueva York-Barce-lona” is a new and unique pro-duction based on musical and cultural exchange among art-ists between the Latin scene in New York and La Sucursal SA.

The first experience offers a rep-ertoire that pays homage to the city of New York and the great Ar-senio Rodriguez, featuring Frank-ie Vazquez the “Sonero del Bar-rio” and young international Salsa Sonero Hector “Papote” Jimenez.
