dress code - When working in the science lab, safety gear must be worn.Examples: 1. Goggles, 2. Apron/lab coat, 3. Hair tie, 4. Close-toed shoes

1. Read and follow all directions.2. Get permission before experimenting on your own.

Notify the teacher of any injuries.Know the location of the sink, telephone, and first aid kit.

General precautions

First Aid

Be aware of any open flames and heated chemicals or fluids.Never reach across a flame.

Fire safety

4. Eating and drinking are not allowed during a science lab.3. You must have adult supervision.

ChemicalsNever heat closed/sealed containers.Never mix chemicals unless directed to do so.Clean any spills and notify your teacher immediately.Dispose of materials properly and never re-use chemicals.

Glassware Never use broken or chipped glassware.Always use a heat screen to protect glassware from an open flame.Never eat or drink from laboratory glassware.Always clean glassware thoroughly when you are finished with a lab.
