Lab Safety
Drill
• Look around the room and make a list of at least 3 pieces of safety equipment that could be used during class.
Objectives
• iWBAT• Review lab safety rules• Practice emergency drills• Watch a safety video to learn/review safety
rules for lab.

• Distribute the Howard County Safety Contract• Students need to sign the contract• Take the paper home and have a
parent/guardian sign• You have 2 class periods to return the signed
Safety Contract for full credit.
Safety quiz
• We will have a safety quiz next week.
• The quiz will be based on the Howard County Safety contract.

Fire Drill
• We need to figure out who is the tallest student in the room.
• When there is an evacuation drill, we need to go outside as quickly as possible, locate the designated person, and stay together.

Lock Down
• Make sure the door is shut and locked.• Turn off the lights.• Go to the back of the lab area and sit down.• We need to be quiet while the lock down is in
progress.• No one may enter, or leave, the room.
Modified Lock Down
• Make sure the door is shut and locked.• We may need to pull down the shades.• We continue with class.• You will move from class to class.
