Lacoste extends partnership with tennis champion Novak Djokovic

Athleisure brand Lacoste has renewed its partnership with Serbian tennis champion Novak Djokovic until 2025. Djokovic is currently the world’s number one tennis player. He recently beat Italian player Matteo Berettini at the 2021 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, to claim his sixth Wimbledon and 20th Grand Slam title. Djokovic and Lacoste have been partners since 2017.

Each year, the tennis champion and Lacoste collaborate to design and release the Novak Djokovic collections, a range of bright and contemporary sportswear pieces that capture Djokovic’s distinctive personal style both on and off the court.

The Etendart Court in Clichy France invites the local community to play and fall in love with tennis

“Novak is not only an exceptional athlete, but also one of those great champions who have a wonderful spirit both on and off the court,” commented Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert.

“Our meeting in 2017 was a real coup de coeur. His audacity, tenacity and kindness impressed me and I am proud that we can continue our common adventure together and accompany him in his new challenges.”

“I have a real connection with Thierry Guibert,” added Djokovic. “We talk regularly, and I’ve felt his support at each key moment of my career. He even connects with my fan club on social media. It is quite incredible to see all these different people around the world get together to give me their support.”

Lacoste and Djokovic jointly opened the Etendart Court in Clichy, France in July, 2020. The court engages with the local community, offering a safe space for schools and the youth to fall in love with tennis. The court is painted with a bright colour palette and bears Djokovic’s image.

Following the success of the Etendart Court, Lacoste and Djokovic have announced plans to extend the initiative and open more tennis courts internationally over the coming months.
