2012
Woman in need can’t afford woman’s hairdresser’s prices, so they attend Men’s hairdresser and choose man’s haircuts It’s emotionally hard.
• Observation of my mother who is a volunteer in a social day care centre Ābeļzieds
• A need to explore more about men

Calculations
COSTS
• Start up costs (business plan, finding investors, cooperation partners)
• Investment (bus, hopefully a donation)
• Running costs (buss maintenance, gas, water, hairdresser’s service costs, driver, administrative costs)
INCOME– Price for service 2 – 5 LVL
– 10 – 15 clients a day
Min income LVL 20 a day
Max income LVL 75 a day
Should be scarce to cover start up, investment and running costs.

Balancing income-expenditure
Lowering costs
• Cooperation with schools which train hairdressers on providing internship/practice opportunities;
• Cooperation with hair dressers saloons on voluntary work.
Zinta, Ilga, Jurģis, Riga November 9, 2012
Balancing income-expenditure• Cooperation with
providers of other social services (possibly reducing admin. costs)
or
• Selling other goods and/or services e.g. computer devices and maintenance

Questions for experts
• Which direction for further development of the idea you suggest – towards larger social assistance providers or – towards business model.
• If business - would not the project destroy small hairdresser’s businesses if they exist?
• What about fair competition if we provide also e.g. computer maintenance?
