A year and a half ago this all began as a simple idea meant to self inspire and
titillate the public. Now, having complet-ed our second calendar, we have been in-
spired again to expand that simple idea of a calendar into something bold and
new.
This magazine will strive to define what it means to have a bounty of eSTEAMed excellence; Gorgeous models in (and out of) elaborate neo-Victorian fashion, arti-cles on the culture, and behind the scene stories about the people who help make
our amazing community what it is; Even some by our very own both beautiful
and intelligent models!
This, as all of our endeavors, is a labor of love which involves an intense amount
of effort but we do it in hopes that every page brings to life the culture, people, and beauty of what Steampunk means
to all of us. This culture brings so much to the lives it touches and we want to do that justice while still interpreting each
piece in our own way.
Cheers,Dr. Belegana
It is my sincerest pleasure to have been part of Ladies of Steampunk from the be-ginning, and to see it evolve into to some-thing I could never have fathomed; espe-cially when starting with next to nothing.
Within these pages (and future issues) you will find an amalgam of Steampunk, boudoir, pin-up, goth, and even a touch of kink. Each photo shoot brings with it a new sense of exhilaration, as well its share of challenges from deciding the right costme and props to hair, make up, and lighting. Each model brings with her a unique personality that breathes life into every shot; I can’t thank them enough for their talent and enthusiasm! A special thanks, also, to our contributors, without whom this magazine would not be possi-ble. And, of course, you, our lovely fans!
So, without further ado, I proudly present the first of what we hope will be a long running publication. With your contin-ued support, it shall be!
Fondest wishes,
Dr. Carswell
