and we all want our homes to refl ect this
joy. To inspire you with festive holiday
decorating ideas, REW spoke to three art-
ists taking part in this year’s Got Craft?
holiday craft fair.

• Head for a walk in search of nature’s
bounty – branches, cedar, holly and pine
cones. Cover the base of a hurricane lan-
tern with your greenery, add a large white
candle and you have a beautiful center-
piece for your table. Tie a ribbon on the
hook for a hint of colour or use spray snow
on the greenery.
• Add a simple non-traditional wreath to
your door using willow branches, a steel
frame and cedar. Keep overlapping the
branches in a circular, clockwise motion.
Then embellish with pine cones, dried
fl owers or succulents.
• Fairy lights pack a big punch! You can
hang them, create a glowing garland for
your sideboard or mantel entrance or
entwine them in a vase or other container.
• Another popular trend is the chalkboard.
Buy a simple wood frame and some chalk-
board paint and write words on it such as
Joy or Peace or your holiday dinner menu.
• A moss-covered branch makes for a fabu-
lous rod on which to hang ornaments or
tea light holders.

• Make Pinterest your best friend … it is a
repository of inspiration.
• Fill mason jars with white fairy lights,
add a little greenery at the bottom and
voila – a simple yet stunning vignette. Or
dip them in metallic paint, sparkles and
add tea lights for another gorgeous look.
• If you are on a budget or your condo
doesn’t allow a real Christmas tree, pick
up some cedar branches. Place them
upright in a large vase or bucket and cre-
ate your own unique tree on which to hang
your homemade ornaments.
• Washi tape is a Japanese masking tape
that has thousand of uses and comes in a
plethora of colours and designs. You can
use it on your walls and it will not peel
paint off . Use it to create your own orna-
ments, wall trees or advent calendars.
• Fashion a string of lights using ping
pong balls and fairy lights. Cut a small X
in each ball and string them right over the
lights (they won’t get too hot), and it looks
fabulous. Add a little splash of colour with
some Washi tape.
• Dip pine cones in paint and string them
with fi shing line and you have nature’s
garland.

• Run a garland made out of foraged ever-
greens down your table, around windows
and your mantel – not only does it add a
fresh look but it smells heavenly too! Add
cedar, pine cones or a selection of candles
in various sizes for an elegant look.
• Create wreaths made out of willow
branches and grape vines. Hold all the
stems at one end to tie. Then, start with
the grape vines and weave in the willow
branches. Finish off by decorating with
holly, ornaments … whatever you like.
• Trim your tree with metal cookie cutters,
which come in a large selection of shapes
and designs. Wrap them in fabric, fabric
trim, twine, ribbon or Washi tape.

On August 14, 2014, we asked for the Fraser Elliot group to come to our home and not only give us a free evaluation of the value but more importantly to us was what they would do to increase exposure and traffic through it. Previously we had our home on the market with a different realtor for 5 months and in the last 2 months it had only been shown once per month and we felt this was not adequate. After hearing of the many forms of advertising and exposure to the market, how they would pay a stager to meet with us and tell us the best way to use existing furniture and space to make the home more appealing we were impressed and then discussed pictures and virtual tours.The pictures and virtual tour were amazing and obviously done by a professional. After seeing them on line both my wife and I jokingly agreed if we did not already own the home, we would buy it.We signed a listing agreement that same day.Since that time we have had 11 showings, and 2 offers to purchase. The first one on August 27 and the one that has resulted in the sale of our home on September 22, 2014.Immediately after each and every showing we received a follow up call from which ever member of the team showed the home with information on how the showing went, this was much appreciated and did not leave us in the dark wondering about feedback.Any phone calls we made to the team were either answered in person or returned within 5 minutes.The home they sold for us was a single family dwelling and we still own a condo that without a doubt will be listed by the Fraser Elliot Group should they want it at the time.The service was unbelievable, professional and we would recommend the Fraser Elliot Group to anyone wanting to buy or sell a home.

Over the past few months I have had the pleasure of dealing with the Fraser Elliott Group. My mother's condo had been on the market for 18 months with two separate realtors. We had taken the suggestions of the last realtor and had the place completely painted with a neutral pallet but alas, it sat empty for the next few months with only a couple of showings. I had hesitated in calling Fraser Elliott Group because in all honesty, they had so many listings and I didn't think they would pay much attention to mom's condo. I finally made the decision to call them and was pleasantly surprised. Their professionalism, track record and assurance that mom's condo was just as important as any listing they had as well as their explanation of their unique marketing strategies made me choose them with confidence. Inside of a week we accepted an offer on the condo, fairly close to list price (which was the same price as the previous realtor had listed it). Unfortunately before subjects were removed, the deal fell through however, Fraser Elliott Group had another offer quickly and the condo sold close to list price. The condo was basically sold in just over a month with this group in a market where condo sales were fairly flat. Shortly after that, we decided to sell our family home. There was a lot of sentiment involved in the decision as it is the home my father built. in 1968 with pride and love. We bought the home from my mom 15 years ago after my dad passed away and happily raised our children there. When Fraser and Garrett came to see us I expressed that I did not want to sell to someone who was going to tear it down and it was important that the people who buy the house loves it as much as we have. They didn't make me feel silly, in fact I believe they empathized with how I must be feeling. The interest was overwhelming once listed. The drive by's and showings were numerous and the house sold within 6 days to the perfect young couple who look at the home as theirs for the next 40 years. Presently my daughter is using Fraser Elliott Groups buyers agent Jennifer to help her find an apartment. She has been wonderful and patient with our daughter who is a first time buyer. I've been involved all the way on the side lines and Jennifer could have easily deferred to me a number of times, but is dealing directly with our daughter teaching and walking her through this monumental step in her life. Fraser Elliott's team has been so professional, patient and understanding. They've explained who they are, how they market and walked us through every stage giving us sound advice every step of the way. They provided a consult with a stager for hints to make the house look better for pictures and showings; there was plenty of notice given for showings; the photographer was professional and quick with an awesome results; the person that came in to take accurate measurements of house and property was efficient and fast. Its no wonder the Fraser Elliott Group is #3 in the world. The team is so professional and so on the ball. They take all of your comments and concerns to heart , offer sound, fair advice and definitely do the best for their client. I highly recommend their services. In my opinion and having dealt with a number of realtors recently, they are the best out there.
