Introduction:
We had an interview with Ms. Julie Monteiro last March 11 this year of
2015. She is 25 years of age now and not married. And lived in Barangay
Bagumbayan, Santa Cruz, Laguna. She is the branch manager of ROMAI in Santa
Cruz, Laguna.
We’ve known that ROMAI have already eight co-dealers in Laguna. And
the dealer of the branch she manage is own by Lagrosa’s family. And the branch
was established last year of 2014.
Also we’ve known that ROMAI is the company that sells electric bikes,
electric scooters and electric vehicles. But the most popular product of them is the
electric bikes.
Electric bike is a bicycle that can be powered both by human power and
electrical power. The human power is exerted through the pedals like a normal
bicycle and the electrical power is provided by an electric motor. The motor gets
its electricity from a rechargeable battery.
And they have a brand goal; “ROMAI goes the extra mile.” “ROMAI will
not stop on the way to be better.”

IV. Nature of the Business
ROMAI is involved in making electric bikes, electric scooter and electric
vehicles and it is one of the greatest producers in China.
ROMAI also produces the main parts of vehicles by itself, impeccable
testing means and provided wholesome sales net. It not only covering huge market
in China but also enjoying international market with branch companies. And now
they have ROMAI electric vehicles branch companies and plants in our country,
Philippines.
And ROMAI has a standing business idea of “Serve with honesty and
sincerity, prioritize quality and customers, and return to the society.”
But the branch of ROMAI in Santa Cruz, Laguna sell only electric bikes and
scooter.
Electric bicycles or e-bikes are commonly known as electric bicycle or
booster bicycle is a bike that has an integrated electric motor used for propulsion.
According to the power that an electric motor can deliver and the control system,
e-bikes with pedal-assist only, with power-on-demand and pedal-assist or with
power-on-demand only. Depending on the laws, in many countries including
Philippines, e-bikes are classified as bicycles than mopeds or motorcycles so that
they are not subjected to stringent laws regarding their certification and operation.
E-bikes are also treated as a special vehicle type in many areas of legal jurisdiction.
This is some information about their electric bikes, the cost of full charge
takes six to eight hours and only cost seven pesos, and driving distance on full
charge is about sixty to eighty kilometers and the maximum speed is thirty five to
fourthyfive kilometer per hour.
When you buy to them an electric bike or scooter you will have free raincoat
and a free lifetime service. It doesn’t required LTO registration, license, change
oil, spark plug and gasoline and especially it has no pollution.
If you want to be a dealer of ROMAI you must have at least ten units in cash
and you can get the units with dealer price. You should sale at least five units per
month. Having the ambitions of being successful.
V. SWOT Analysis
STRENGHTS
One of the most leading brands in the electric vehicles industry. Amongst
advanced users, the brand has an excellent brand recall and strong brand equity.
Superior technology also allows their brand to better meet the needs of their
customers. Has excellent marketing through competitions.
Also the financial leverage allows e-bikes to use their balance sheet to
expand their business and increase their profits.
WEAKNESSES
Weak management increases business risks and reduces profits for the
company, because they are responsible for the health of the business.
Also weak customer service can affect the company’s reputation and causes
customers to flee to competitors, who are more respondent.
OPPORTUNITIES
Electric bikes are good in our environment. The company can increase
physical distribution to better reach the end customer.
Also they think that greater innovation must help them to produce unique
products and services that meet customer’s needs.
The company can get into the competition organization space to increase
brand awareness.
Emerging markets are fast growing regions of the world that enable e-bikes
to quickly expand.
THREATS
The company faces threat if the electric bikes fad fades out in the future.
Because consumers can change their tastes very quickly and it’s depend on the
company on knowing which goods and services consumers wants.
Intense competitions are also a threat because it can lower the company’s
profits and competitors must entice customers away with superior products.
And the availability of substitute products hurts company’s ability to raise
prices because customers can easily switch to another product or services.
VI. Problem Solution
They committed their company to make their products more energy-efficient
and more eco-friendly. ROMAI people outdid themselves persistently by new
models with more stylish appearance and more stable quality.
