UMW Election Day Bazaar Tuesday November 4, 2014 – 9:00 to 6:00pm

(Monday night shopping for church members only 5-7:00 pm)

Soup and Sandwich Luncheon – Served by the Hope Circle. Soup Sale – Soup will be available by the quart. Signup sheets will be passed for your orders. Bake Sale – We will need your donations of baked goods. Yummy things are always donated. See Phyllis Porter, Homemade Candy – This will be as good as ever. Zelda Cook, Jan Selby and Phyllis Porter will be making the candy. Household Treasures - We will be looking for donations of good household items. A date for donations will be announced in the near future. Kay Crook and Joyce Ward are the contact persons. Clothing – We can always use nice, clean, slightly-used clothing. Casual clothing sells the best and children’s items are always needed. Winter coats are needed as well. Joanie Ready, Kay Crook and Sue Kariher can be contacted for this. Books – Our book sale is always a hit. Good used books and magazines sell well. Sue Kariher will be working here. We need at least two more volunteers that know something about books to work with Sue. Bargain Day, Nov. 5 – We are planning on a second day again. Watch for details.

We will update you when items can be brought to the church and where we will store them. This is usually 2 weeks before the bazaar.

Thanks in advance for all of your donations and help.

Hand-Crafted Items

People have asked about making items to sell. We will have a separate section set up for selling homemade crafts.

If you would like to make something and donate it to the Bazaar, (needlework, woodworking, painting, or whatever your craft is)

please contact Joyce Ward. This will be a wonderful display of the talents at our church.

TOOL SUPERMARKET TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14

The Men’s Coffee Group is planning an outing to the Tool Supermarket at 401 7th Avenue, in Beaver Falls PA on Tuesday, October 14. Meet at the home of Larry Webber at 8:30 am to carpool. We will return around 2:00 PM. They have two large buildings with over 1½ acres of tools and machinery now under roof.

UMW FALL DISTRICT MEETING ~ SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18 from 9:30-12:30 at Warren First UMC

490 North Park Ave, Warren

(registration begins at 8:30)

Guest speaker is Rev. Suzanne Hill, with the theme, “Hard Times in Palestine – What we should know, how can we help”. A Saturday meeting is unusual but we are hoping more women will be able to attend. Since Saturdays can be hectic they’ve condensed the meeting. Registration deadline is Friday, October 10, and the fee is $5.00 each. If you would like to attend, please see Phyllis Porter.

TRUNK OR TREAT SATURDAY OCTOBER 25

We meet in the church parking lot, open up the trunks of our cars, and from 6:00-7 the kids go around to all the cars while you hand out treats. From 7:00-7:30 we will serve hotdogs, chips, hot cocoa, cold drinks, etc. either in the pavilion or the fellowship hall, depending on the weather. You are invited to bring something to share.

And don’t forget to decorate the trunk of your car!!
