Principal’s Report Goodbye to Harold
Harold and the Life Education Van left
our school earlier this week, after a
very informative and fun-filled visit.
The classes enjoyed spending time
with Harold, Ashley and Michelle and
learned lots about how to keep
ourselves healthy. We were
congratulated on the beautiful
manners and welcoming smiles we gave the special visitors over the time they
spent at Lake Munmorah PS.
Magical Makerspace
The Makerspace was used this week by 6G. They were busily building our
most iconic of bridges, the Sydney Harbour Bridge. After spending time
researching, planning and sharing their ideas, the students of 6G got to put
their creative genius into
action!

Great Work!
Two special people came to the office this week to share their reading skills. Thank you to Dieter and Brooklyn, who shared their story about Little Chimp. Great reading by the both of you!
I visited 2K this week and shared one of my favourite
stories with them. The students heard the story Tikki-Tikki-Tembo and even had a go at saying the main
character’s whole name (which is very, very long!).
Students from 1/2A are developing into very skilled
mathematicians. It was lovely visiting the classroom and seeing fractions, grouping and whole number activities being undertaken with such enthusiasm.
Uniforms
As the colder weather has hit, there has been an increase in colourful jumpers in the school. Please make sure your child wears the school uniform each day. Representative jumpers are not part of our school uniform. Students who purchase these jumpers may wear them to school on the day following the carnival, to recognise their achievement, however, are required to wear school uniform at all other times.
All items of our school uniform are available at the Uniform Shop, located behind the hall.
Year 5 Debating
At the end of last week, Lake Munmorah PS hosted a debate for Year 5 students. The debating team from Gwandalan PS visited our school to debate the LMPS Year 5 team. All students found the experience valuable for skill development and developed their understandings of the roles within a debating team.
PBL News
All students have been working very hard to show Respect, Responsibility and their Personal Best. They have been collecting the Lakeys and depositing these in the collection box in the hall. We have now reached our goal level, meaning the whole school will receive a reward. This will take place on the Friday 21st June. On this day, students will receive their “buy-in” reward, receive a free sausage sandwich and, for a gold coin donation, be able to wear their pyjamas to school. More information will be provided in the coming days.

P & C News
By now you should have all received your Cookie Dough order forms. There are some
great flavours on there and it is absolutely the perfect time to be turning that dough
into cookies. This is not our major fundraising event. We will still be doing the fun
run that the kids enjoy so much. Our aim is to raise funds for the school to purchase
some new jerseys as we have had many go missing.
Second hand uniform shop will be open next Tuesday morning. If you are looking
for some extra jumpers with this cooler weather now here, come in and have a look.
The uniform committee will be meeting in the next week, if you are interested please
contact us via our Facebook page please. It is Lake Munmorah Public School P&C.
Breakfast club is going off well. We are still looking for volunteers in the morning. If
you can assist, please contact us through our facebook page or come and see us in
the morning.
Our next P&C meeting is Tuesday 18th June. Please join us. We will be having a special
guest from OOSH. If you have any questions or would like to find out more
information in regards to OOSH, this will give you the perfect opportunity to have
those answered. Meeting is at 6.30pm in the staff room.
