Day to day affairs of running the school are being managedby the Principal assisted by appropriate staff under overallsupervision of the School Committee comprising 3 or 4representatives of the Trust, the Principal and a representativeof the teaching and non-teaching staff. The School Buildingis spacious with all modern facilities and is designed toaccommodate students from Std. I to Std.. XII with a seatingcapacity of 3,400 students; working in two shifts. The mottoof the school reads “<èPà <èAÞ²A _òµo²” which means“MODESTY ADORNS KNOWLEDGE.”
The school does not receive any Grant-in-Aid fromthe Government and the only source of income is theamount of fees collected from the students.
The Trust holds exemption u/s 80G of the Income Tax Actand is registered with the Charity Commissioner underRegistration No.E8297 (BOM) dated 17-8-1981 as a PublicCharitable Trust with the object to establish and/or runeducational institutions.
Any constructive suggestion from the parents whosechildren are being admitted to the school shall always bewelcomed. The Trust Office is housed in the Yashodham HighSchool Building, Goregaon (E), Mumbai - 400 063. wheresuch constructive suggestions can be recorded with theTrustee-in-charge.

1. LAKSHDHAM HIGH SCHOOL was inaugurated on 12.6.08. The medium ofinstruction in the school is English. The school is permanently unaided.
2. The School prepares students for INDIAN CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARYEDUCATION EXAMINATION (ICSE).
3. The aim of the school is to develop all the facets of the personality of a studentthrough liberal education and broad curricula. The school stands for academicexcellence, development of skills and formation of character through curricularand extra-curricular activities which help to broaden the mental outlook of thestudents and provide opportunity to discover and develop the latent talents inthem.
4. The objective of the school is to prepare the students to face challenges oflife, to encourage the creative ability, to help them understand their obligationsto society and to inculcate humane and aesthetic values. This objective isrealized by arranging various activities like mock parliamentary sessions,competitions, exhibitions, field-trips, seminars, 'Zero Hour'. Hobby classes,swimming facilities and free coaching for different games and sports is alsoavailable.
5. The school has a well-equipped Auditorium, Computer Laboratory, Physics,Chemistry, Biology Lab, Library and an audio-visual room with latestequipments and offers Computer Education for both Primary and SecondarySections.
6. a) Hindi is taught from Std. l upwards and there is provision for opting for theregional language from Std. I onwards.
b) Hindi and Marathi is offered as llnd language in Std lX & X.
7. Physical training, and outdoor games are compulsory, unless a doctor'scertificate is produced.
8. Admission of children to the school is open to all irrespective of caste, creed,religion and sex.
9. At the time of admission to the school the age limit prescribed by the R.T.E act(for Std.l) shall be rigidly adhered to.
10. Should the Parent / Guardian feel that his/her child is not making progressthe principal should be contacted for guidance. Our Teachers are not permittedto offer Private Tuitions. The parents are advised to refrain from engagingteachers either from the school or from outside for coaching as such tuitionsnormally do more harm than good. It encourages students to be inattentive inclass.

ADMISSIONS / WITHDRAWALS
1. Parents seeking admission for their ward in Std. I will have to produce anyone of the following documents to confirm the date of birth.
a. Birth certificate given by hospital / municipality.b. School leaving certificate from the Pre Primary school.c. Affidavit filed by the parent.
2. For seeking admission the parent / guardian will have to fill the admissionform online and attach scanned copy of necessary documents notexceeding the size as per the format given in the admission notificationpublished on the school website.
3. At the time of admission to Std.I in the School, the age limit prescribed bythe management from time to time shall be rigidly adhered to. No relaxationin age will be given.
4. On being granted admission, the parent / guardian will have to Producethe necessary documents in original for verification.
5. A child coming from a recognized school will be admitted only when aschool leaving certificate from the school he / she has last attended, isproduced. The school leaving certificate or transfer certificate should bearthe recognition number of that school. In case of students coming fromschools outside Maharashtra State / or from other boards, the SchoolLeaving Certificate must be countersigned by the Educational Inspector ofthe area in that state from where he / she comes.
6. All withdrawals from the school can be made only on the written requestfor the same giving one calendar month's notice or paying fees equivalentto one month in lieu of the notice period by the parent / guardian of the childto the Principal. Application for a leaving certificate, should be made by theparent / guardian on the prescribed form provided in the school calendar.Signatures of both the parents, is mandatory on the application form.
7. In case of request for a duplicate of the school leaving certificate, theparent / guardian, will have to produce an affidavit stating therein what hashappened to the original certificate and why a duplicate School LeavingCertificate is needed.
8. In case of adopted children, a certified copy of adoption document is to besubmitted at the time of admission.
9. In all matters regarding admission, Principal's decision shall be final andbinding on parents.

General Instructions:
Wearing of clean and well-ironed uniform is compulsory forstudents. Any student who comes to school without properuniform or whose appearance is untidy, continuously, isliable to be sent home. The school accepts no responsibilityif for failure of wearing school uniform or wearing it untidy,the pupil is sent back home during class hours.

RULES REGARDING LEAVE, ABSENCE ETC.
1. Regular Attendance is essential.2. Students must be present in the school after holidays/vacations
on the re-opening day of the school. They must also remainpresent in the school on the last working day of the school,preceding the holidays/vacations. School authorities must beinformed immediately in case of emergencies/exigencies arising onthese days.
3. School authorit ies must be informed immediately in case ofemergencies / exigencies arising on these days.
4. A medical certificate with supporting medical papers will have to beproduced immediately in case of absence due to sickness and whileresuming school after sickness, a medical fitness certificate mustbe submitted by the student.
5. A student should not remain absent from the school except incase of emergency. On the day on which he/she returns to school,the student must produce a note in the calendar from his/her parent/guardian stating the reason for the absence. The School accepts noresponsibility if due to failure in producing this note from the parent/guardian, the student is sent back home during class hours.
6. If the child is ill or is suffering from some contagious disease, thePrincipal should be informed of the same within two days by theparent/guardian supported by a medical certificate. The child shouldnot be sent to school till he/she is free from any danger of carryinginfection. At the time of resuming school, the child must produce amedical fitness certificate.
7. Unexplained absence over a period of a month renders a pupil liableto have his/her name struck off the roll. If he/she is re-admitted, theadmission fee must be paid again.
8. Any student who is late in attending school, should bring with him/her a written application from his/her parent/guardian for lateattendance. Child will be sent home with the parent.
9. No student will be permitted to leave school early. No half day leavewill be granted.
10. Attendance and wearing of P.E. Uniform at official school functions,like Sports Day, Independence Day, Republic Day etc. is compulsory.Absentees will be penalised.

RULES FOR THE STUDENTS1. This is an English medium school. All the students are expected to speak in
English.2. Students must bring the calendar everyday to school.3. The school uniform and identity card must be worn every day. A student without proper
uniform will be sent back.4. Uniform worn should be neat and tidy, hair properly combed and shoes well polished.5. Students should not wear jewellery, costly wrist watches and should not bring valuable
items to school.6. Books not recommended, magazines, comics etc. should not be brought to the school.
No article liable to be a source of disturbance should be brought to school. Use of MobilePhones in the school premises is strictly prohibited.
7. Students are expected to arrive at school before the assembly bell. Habitual late comerswill be sent home after three late remarks.
8. Any student coming late will not enter the class unless he/she brings a note to theteacher from the Vice-Principal/Principal.
9. Students must maintain silence in the school. They must maintain discipline whenmoving from one class to another. They should move in a single file only.
10. No student will be excused from physical education without a Doctor’s Certificate.11. No collections will be made by the students unless permitted by the Principal in advance.12. Students are not allowed to give presents to the teachers.13. Students are not allowed to distribute sweets/presents/eatables of any kind on their
birthday. Instead they can voluntarily donate a book/s to the school library, to inculcatethe good habit of reading and sharing.
14. Students should look after their books, clothes, pens, wrist watch, money, etc. Schooldoes not accept any responsibility for loss of such things.
15. Students should be regular, courteous, well-behaved, disciplined and clean in theirdress and habits.
16. A student who is persistently insubordinate, wilfully mischievous, guilty of misconductand/or has unwholesome influence on fellow students is liable to be expelled from theschool.
17. A student is responsible to the school not only for his/her behaviour in the school butalso for his/her general behaviour outside. Every effort should be made by the studentto keep up the good name of the school by his/her manners and deportment. Studentsshould greet their teachers/visitors when they meet them.
18. Students will not take part in any political activities.19. During the absence of the teacher, the Prefect or Monitor will be responsible for the
order and discipline of the class.20. It is forbidden to buy eatables from street vendors.21. Students are expected to keep THE SCHOOL PREMISES CLEAN.22. All Lakshlites are expected to:

SAFETY MEASURES1. Students should compulsorily wear the identity-card issued to them
by the school along with their uniform.2. Parents should always possess the identity card issued by the

of the person they delegate to collect their children from school, ifthey are not doing so themselves. An identity card will also be issuedfor the guardian/s which they have to carry when they enter theschool premises.

8. Parents can form car pool groups for safe transportation of children.9. Parents should supervise/stay with the children when they go down
to play.10. Sending children to shops/shopping centre, alone should be avoided.11. Parents should give their children a Re. 1/- coin so that children can
call home from the nearest P.C.O. in case of emergency.12. Parents should ensure that the correct phone numbers of the
residence and office are written in the calendar and their signaturesare at relevant places
13. Parents are advised not to send their children to school if they areunwell.
14. Along with the values learnt in school, it is of utmost importance tolay stress on cleanliness, and hygiene and above all a sense ofresponsibility.

RULES FOR THE SCHOOL LIBRARY1. The Library is open from Monday to Friday : 07.00 a.m. to 06.15 p.m.
Saturday : 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.
2. Pupils will be given library cards for borrowing books and each pupil is responsiblefor the books taken on his/her card. The librarian shall confiscate the cards ofthe students who contravene the library rules.
3. Books will be issued for the use of the BORROWER only.4. A pupil can borrow or return books once a week only.5. Books should not be kept for more than a week. At the end of each period the
books may, if desired, be renewed at the discretion of the Librarian. However,for such a renewal, the book must be produced.
6. Failure to return a book on the expiry of the period of a week, the pupil will bepenalised (Re.1/- per day).
7. Books must be kept clean and used carefully. No marking should be done in theLibrary book. Any imperfection found in them or any damage done to them mustbe reported to the School Librarian before taking the book home. The damagedone to books or magazines and loss of books will have to be made good bythe pupil concerned.
8. Reference books and magazines cannot be borrowed or taken out of the Library.9. Students can borrow parallel text-books of ICSE syllabus against their library
cards.10. Students must consult the Librarian/teacher for the books recommended for
their specific age group and record should be maintained in the calendar (LibraryRecord)
11. All books must be returned in good condition before the beginning of eachTerminal Examination and before a Leaving Certificate is issued. The borrowerwho fails to return a book must pay a fine equal to the value of the book.
12. No personal books, bags, satchels, electronic gadgets and eatables are allowedin the library. Any personal books found will be confiscated. Only note-books,school calendar and a pencil may be taken in.
13. Every pupil should help to keep the Library clean and tidy and see that thebooks and magazines are kept in their proper places.
14. Strict silence must be observed in the Library and conversation should be keptto the minimum and sound should be low.
15. The Library should be used only for perusing reference books, parallel textbooks, periodicals and reviews.
16. Before taking the School Leaving Certificate/Hall Ticket every student isrequested to return all Library books and get the Librarian’s signature in theapplication for Clearance Certificate. Necessary form is provided at the end ofthe calendar.

LABORATORIES
Facilities to use all the laboratories are available to students fromStd. III upwards. All experiments will be undertaken in the presenceof and with the knowledge of the teacher and the LaboratoryAssistant.Pupils are requested to take special care of the Laboratory materialsand apparatus. The cost of repairs and replacements if any will beborne by the pupils concerned. No pupil is allowed in the Laboratoryexcept during Practical Periods.

Performing Arts is a source of edutainment, providing a historicaland cultural insight. It has been introduced in the curriculum, tobalance the demand of disciplined skills and challenging standardsin an environment of emotional, aesthetic, imaginative and creativedevelopment. It aims at developing a co-operative attitude throughthe organization and participation associated with music, danceand drama. It further aims at developing appropriate skills andknowledge with understanding, as a basis for further study or leisureor both. RECOMMENDATIONS TO PARENTS1. Since this is an English medium school, every student should
learn to speak and write good English. Hence at home, he/she should be given an opportunity to speak English and speakit correctly.Parents should instruct their ward that, except for Hindi/Marathiclasses, English alone should be spoken during the school hours.

1. Term fees must be paid in June along with I-Quarter Tuition Fee andin December along with III-Quarter Tuition Fee. Fees can be paidQuarterly, half-yearly or yearly.
2. Fees for the months of April and May must be paid in March, andthis holds good even for those who wish to leave the school in March,April & May.
3. The delay of payment beyond 3 months renders a pupil liableto be struck off the roll. If the pupil is re-admitted the admissionfee must be paid again.
4. If a student is to be withdrawn, one calendar month’s noticeshould be given in writing by the Parent/Guardian to thePrincipal of the school to arrange for the refund of the balanceof tuition fees. In exceptional circumstances of withdrawal, onemonth’s tuition fee in lieu of one calendar month’s notice will haveto be paid. Amount collected as Term Fee or Tuition Fee will not berefunded.
5. Students whose fees are not paid will be considered as defaulters.
6. Unless all dues are paid by the student, the results of theexaminat ions/ tests conducted by the school wi l l not becommunicated to the student. School Leaving Certificate will not beissued till all the outstanding dues from the student at the time ofleaving the school are paid and clearance certificate from theconcerned authority is obtained.
7. Students who leave the school in the month previous to any vacationmust pay the fees for the vacation.
8. No deduction in fees will be allowed for vacations or for broken periodof the month. Full month’s fee will be payable if the student’s nameappears on the roll on the 1st day of the month. Admission fee willnot be refunded even if the student, for any reason, leaves the schoolimmediately after securing admission.
9. Std.X (ICSE) students will have to pay fees till May, in the monthof January.

The school provides bus service to the students of the PrimarySection and Secondary Section of LHS under the aegis of G.A.E.T.
INSTRUCTIONS:
• The bus facility is extended to students only when there is anavailability of seats and is offered at the Principal’s discretion.This offer can be withdrawn any time.
• Students will board and alight only at fixed bus stops. Parentsand children are requested not to ask the driver or attendant tostop the buses at unauthorised bus stops.
• Parents are not permitted to change the bus stops, without priorpermission. In case there is a change in the bus stop, the parentsmust inform the school in writing.
• Children must obey and must be courteous to the bus-in-charge.Children found misbehaving in the bus will not be allowed tocontinue availing the bus facility.
• In the event of the child not being at the stop at the scheduledtime the bus will proceed without the child. It will be theresponsibility of the parent/guardian to drop the child to School.In the event of there being no one to receive the child at the stopof the return journey the child will be brought to the school andthe parents wil l have to collect their child from the schoolauthorities on presentation of their Identity Card.
• If the parent doesn’t want their ward to avail the bus facility forsome reason on a particular day, the school must be informedabout it in writing.
• In case of any grievance, parents must inform the schoolauthorities in writing for appropriate action. Parents must not enter/board the school bus for any reason.
