01 Hotel Havanna

Havanna Hotel caters to both Miami residents as well as visitors A club space and Cuban restaurant invites residents into the hotel and intermingles them with the visitors

Business space and conference rooms are located on the amenities floors which are open for public use and planned events

The 14th floor will include a spa and restaurant space with access to the outdoor pool area

Each hotel room has two scenes The daytime scene is lighter and brighter After the sun goes down the colored lights can turn on to change the mood

There is a dropped seating area in each room to separate sleeping from lounging space Murphy beds can fold into the wall for optimum use of space

Waiting areas were designed with bright colors fun patterns and varieties of furniture from ldquodunerdquo

Dropped ceilings were placed in the high traffic areas where doctors researchers and patients can collaborate updating each other on hospital happenings

AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL LAW OFFICE GLOBAL ADVOCATES REVAMPED THEIR IMAGE WITH A NEW MORAL OF HAVING NOTHING TO HIDE ldquoTRANSPARENCYrdquo WAS THE BASE CONCEPT FOR BOTH THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DESIGN

Open office plans allow employee collaboration and free flow through the spaces In a physical transparency a rough diamond shape grounds the company and suggests feelings of empowerment and success Curving transparent ribs line the corersquos office windows to give the space a playful intriguing feel

THE CO-HOUSING PROJECT IS BASED ON A GROUP OF SENIOR ARTISTS WHO HAVE SPECIFIED A SETTING THAT WOULD BRING THEIR COMMUNITY TOGETHER WHERE THEY COULD BE INSPIRED CREATIVE AND CONTINUE THEIR ACTIVE LIVES TOGETHER

Most of the areas throughout the 2 buildings have an open floor plan to allow residents to converse from room to room

A variety of spaces were provided to promote healthy lives and a sense of community These spaces include an art studio library full gym and a large community kitchen with seating for 50

VICTORIA IS A HEALTH AND WELLNESS SPA LOCATED IN THE HEART OF BOSTON MA ON NEWBURY STREET THE DESIGN CONCEPT WAS DERIVED FROM RESEARCHING BOSTONrsquoS VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURE THE FLOOR PLANS MIMIC THOSE FOUND IN VICTORIAN HOMES PATTERNING amp TEXTURES OF MATERIALS FROM THESE HOMES WERE ALSO INCORPORATED INTO THE SPArsquoS OVERALL FEEL

06 Victoria Newbury Spa

The color palette chosen was taken from common house coloring and toned down to give a calm soothing effect and promote relaxation Listening to the waterfall on the back wall of the lounge also provides a soothing soundtrack

07 SoPhirsquos Restaurant

THE MOMENT IN TIME WHEN A TRAIN APPLIES ITS BRAKES AND EVERYTHING JOLTS FORWARDS SoPhirsquos RESTAURANT IS BASED OFF OF THE PHI PHENOMENON ldquoAPPARENT MOTION RESULTING FROM AN ORDERLY SEQUENCE OF STIMULI WITHOUT ANY ACTUAL MOTION BEING PRESENTED TO THE EYErdquo

The phi phenomenon can be seen in the colored windows which simulates a train passing by at high speed Also the lights as well as the glass dividers are at an angle to feel as though their swinging motion in the train is paused

STUDIO I- THE PROJECT REQUIRED A PRESERVATION OF A CUBE ESSENCE BY USING NEGATIVE SPACE IT SHAPED A DETAILED INTERIOR PRIVATE MEDITATION CUBES SURROUNDING THE OPENING ON THE SECOND FLOOR DRAWS IN LIGHT TO THE ULTIMATE MEDITATION SPOT

Hierarchy was determined by the amount of detail surrounding the space The central meditation area has the most detail with inspiration from spanish and islamic architecture
