“shinrin-yoku”

This is a sort of mindful hiking popular in Japan and, increasingly, Korea. It emphasizes a multisensory experience, and researchers there have deeply studied the effects of the scent of the hinoki cypress tree. However, it also has a business aspect, encouraging tourism to Japan’s natural areas, and helping to justify their preservation.

How does tech support this? Tech could be a park, campfire, phone, internet? Is this an appropriate place to discuss “Common Ground”? – or possibly the next slide on Public Spaces. There are so many connections and forms of partnerships during this event. I have not directly participated in one but know many people who have and got a lot of valuable information.
