State aforesaid have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to
Amelia Jane Booth and her heirs and assigns forever for and in consideration of
Fifteen hundred Dollars to me paid a certain tract of Land in the State of Tennessee
Fayette County and Surveyors District No. 10 Containing by estimation two hundred
acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a stake with
three Hickory pointers at the North West corner of Entry No. 339 for 640 acres in the
name of Fredrick Huling thence North Eighty three poles to a black oak Thence West
one hundred 73 7/10 poles to a stake two Hickory and one Spanish oak pointers
Thence North 70 and 7/10 to a stake with four oak pointers with A. B. Bullard's East
boundary line thence East 226 1/10 poles to a stake small Hickory corner two Hickory
and one Poplar pointer thence South 33 poles to a stake with two white oak pointers
Thence East 69 poles to a Hickory on the West boundary line of Entry 889 for 360 ½
acres in the name of S. Polk Thence South 220 and 1/10 poles to a stake with three
Hickory pointers Thence West one hundred and sixty poles to the beginning To have
and to hold the same to the said Amelia Jane Booth her heirs and assigns forever
separate and apart from her husband D. C. Booth and not to be conveyed unless by
the act and deed of the said Amelia Jane Booth I do covenant with the said Amelia
Jane Booth that I am lawfully seized of said land bargained right to convey and that the
same is unencumbered I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and
representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part
thereof to the said Amelia Jane Booth her heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of
all persons whatsoever. ____ the dower of Amelia Jernigan marked off to her by the
order of the Chancery Court at Somerville Tennessee this the 27th day of December in
A. D. 1851.
