You are chosen by the popular TV show “Swap Students.” You’re going to visit a school in Beijing and the camera crew will film your first day of school there.

Instruction:

1. In groups of three or four, A will be the visiting American student, B will be the local Chinese student, C will be the teacher, D (in group of four) will be the other local Chinese student.

2. A, B, C & D will take turns to video record each scene.

3. Your screenplay needs to include:

(1) greetings. For example: “你好！”“你好吗?”

(2) asking about each other’s name.

(3) asking about each other’s age

(4) asking about each other’s nationality

(5) asking each other which school you’re attending and your grade level.

(7) a mini-lesson demonstrated by a teacher and students

(8) goodbyes.

4. You will use “Educreation” on your iPad to write the screenplay (conversation lines) in Chinese.

5. Save the file as: “YourFirstName (include every group member)_Screenplay_12/8/14”

6. Bonus points:

look up new words and phrases in Chinese and use them in your screenplay.

3. Every group member will take turns to film each scene.

4. Bonus points:

When you finish recording, use iMovie to edit your video. (instructions see handouts)

5. Airdrop your saved video or iMovie to Liu Laoshi’s computer.

6. Movie time! We’re going to watch your movie.
