in Iligan which is highly visited by a lot foreigners nor even those local people who wish to

explore and experience the beautiful paradise of Tinago Falls.

HUNDRED ISLAND NATIONAL PARK

This small national park off the coast of Alaminos contains 123 separate islets, although

some are just large rocks. Over the centuries the tides have eaten away at the bases of

these limestone islands, giving them a distinctive, mushroom-like appearance.

The friendly and useful Hundred Islands National Park office is on the wharf in barangay

Lucap, the jumping-off point to the national park.

The three most popular islands are Quezon Island, Governor’s Island and Children’s

Island, but you’re definitely better off finding your own island on weekends, as these fill

up with loads of large families and beach vendors.

Iligan City (The City of Waterfalls ). The home of Maria Cristina Falls (which is the main

source of power). This city is famous for Timoga Cold Springs (crystal clear and clean water

which flows freely to the swimming pools. Literally, infinite flows of water), Tinago falls (this

place is hidden it is 13.8 kilometers from the city proper but, it’s worth the adventure). It is in

Iligan City where major industries are located like the National Steel Corporation (largest

steel producer), Philmico Food Corporation (maker of wheat and flour), Mindanao PortlandCement Corporation (one of the manufactures of cement), and National Power Corporation

(power generation).

Pearl Farm, Samal Island, Davao

Located in the southern part of the Philippines is the Samal group of Islands, an

archipelago consisting of nine islands which stretch out over a land area of 28,000

hectares. Samal is a beautiful, tranquil and exotic island with a coastline adorned with

white sand beaches, abundant marine life, rock formations, mangroves, and landscape

elements of coconut palms, flowering plants and fruit-bearing trees. The area is blessed

with various natural attractions and flourishing flora and fauna.

Nestled on the quiet side of Samal Island, The Pearl Farm Beach Resort is a mere 45-

minute boat ride from the wharf. This fourteen (14) hectare spread was once a pearl

farm, where thousands of white-lipped oysters transported from the Sulu Sea, were

cultivated for their pink, white and gold pearls. Today, the resort beckons with the

promise of a relaxing, private retreat, under the care of its friendly and charming staff.

The resort’s Samal Houses are patterned after the stilt houses of seafaring Samal tribes

of the Sulu archipelago. By day, schools of tiny fish frolic between the sturdy poles that

support the houses. At night, the sound of the waves are a soothing aid to slumber.

The waters of this island resort are inviting. Crystal clear waves lap gently on the shore

and the calm surface of the rock pool washes over the edge into the sea below.

HIDDEN VALLEY SPRING

The Hidden Valley Springs is a paradise that is awaiting to be discovered by you.

Located between Mount Makiling and Mount Banahaw, Hidden Valley Springs is a

haven for nature lovers. This is a place where you can have peace of mind and capture

the heart of the jungle and leads to the water falls. With a rustic architecture, Hidden

Valley Springs blends right in with the natural jungle setting. The structures are made of

wood, from the furnitures right up to the pathways which are made from molave railroad

tiles that arerecovered. Hidden Valley is place where time stops and Nature provides a

relaxing show.Hidden Valley is a mountain resort sunk about 1,000 feet below sea level

and harbors rare plants and animals.

KAWASAN FALLS

Kawasan Falls is actually a series of lovely waterfalls. The first waterfall is the biggest.

The scenery gets more rustic/wilder and impressive the further up you go.

From the parking area you'll have to walk about 20 minutes before reaching the first falls

— along a rocky, narrow path along the beautiful river. The river is very clean & clear.

The river fish can easily be seen as you take it easy and enjoy the walk. Lush tropical

trees & plants line the river.

You'll cross 3 small bridges before reaching the falls. Stop in the middle of bridge # 3 &

look upstream. It’s a good place for photographs.

Your brief hike brings you to Kawasan Falls, a three-tiered cascade of crystal clear

mountain springs. Enjoy a picnic, the lush scenery, tropical forest, and a cool swim. A

very lovely experience.

After a 5 - 10 minute trek going up above the first falls, you'll be able to reach the other

3 sub-falls and also the source. Don’t miss them!

The fall areas are very pretty and offers (cold!) fresh water bathing, a Tarzan swing andthe opportunity to climb up beside the waterfall and imitate the high divers of Acapulco!

The higher up the river valley, the prettier it gets, with places where you must swim up a

gorge and clamber over rocks. The area is popular with locals as well as

foreigners/visitors, so try to avoid the weekends and holidays otherwise you will share

the place with screaming children, BBQ stands and radios!

The first falls is the largest and is usually the most crowded. You can bring food and/or

a picnic lunch if you desire. Food is also available from the resort's native restaurants –

and cottages and tables are available for rent.

You can also rent a bamboo raft to navigate around the large pool under the waterfall,

or opt for a refreshing "waterfall massage" under the falls. You have the opportunity toclimb up beside the waterfall and jump into the water, just like Tarzan!

Magapit Suspension Bridge, St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Miraculous Lady of Piat, a
