Rule #5 : Don’t Waste Your Energy on Those Who Don’t Get on Your Bus: “It’s simple, my man. Some people are going to get on your bus and some people won’t. Don’t worry about the people who don’t get on your bus. Don’t waste your energy on them. Don’t try to make them get on. You can’t drive anyone else’s bus. You can only drive your bus” = Jon Gordon, The Energy Bus, page 70 Welcome New Reps! 4 Run Through the Warehouse! New agent/broker contracts – received by Friday, March 21st, 2014 to guarantee first quarter processing. For the contract to be considered complete, the new candidate must have passed the market conduct test, have a license, and any background issues need to be explained. We’ll process contracts received after March 17th in the order received, but this doesn't guarantee processing for the first quarter. We'll continue to process your business until the deadline, but we don't guarantee that it will count for this quarter. To count for quarter-end bonuses, the business must be submitted and processed in this quarter. For most other bonuses paid on a year-to-date basis, business not submitted and processed on time is counted for the next quarter and paid accordingly. Holding your business or not meeting these deadlines could affect your bonus payout. See your compensation plan guide for complete details at Compensation > Plans, Schedules & Policies > [your compensation plan for your contract type]. So Please Remember To Submit business immediately and frequently. Don't wait until the last minute. If you send in your business early, we have more time to address any submission errors or unclean business. It's even more important toward the end of the quarter so we can process your business before cut-off dates. Keep your license and appointment current and up to date with us. Home-Office News: Company-issued VISA gift cards The brief 12-hour interruption of service at our Visa card vendor has been delayed by one week. The new schedule that all unused cards will be inactive is from 9 p.m. CST on Sunday, March 23 through 9 a.m. CST on Monday, March 24.

Previous e-mail sent on Feb. 5, 2014

Because of a system upgrade at the provider of our Visa gift card program, all unused cards will temporarily be inactive from 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 16 through 9 a.m. CST on Monday, March 17. In addition, their website, Myprepaidcenter.com, and the self-service portion of the 800 customer service number will also be unavailable during that time.

For those of you who have ordered Visa gift cards in the past year for your salespeople or award recipients, we recommend that you let them know about this brief 12-hour in-terruption of service.

Please let Stephen know if you have any questions about this at [email protected]

Plan Busters and Winners

Run like you stole it!

You’ll want to do just that if you’re one of the grand prize winners running through the ware-house! There isn’t much time left to get those final new accounts and rack up the new account sales premium. Not only will you get to take home incredible prizes, but you’ll spend a fan-tastic weekend in Chicago with some of your fellow “partners in crime.”

Don’t forget about the Wild Card spots. You might not be No. 1 in your category, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have an opportunity to win big! Rack up tickets and increase your odds. We’ll draw for three lucky winners in April. Read the contest brochure for how to qualify for the Wild Card Spots.

If that isn’t enough to tempt you to be a grand prize winner, read what former grand prize win-ners have to say about the electrifying Run Through The Warehouse experience. And take a minute (1:27 to be exact) to see the exciting video of former winners reliving the thrill of the run.

“I remember finishing second in my category one year, and we focused so hard to make sure we won it the following year,” says Joe Conley, District General Agent, Dallas. “The

Four Seasons Chicago was, and it’s still one of the best places we’ve ever stayed”.

“It was awesome! We snagged a pretty im-pressive haul in our sprint,” says Nona Sny-der, Agency Sales Rep, San Marcos, Texas.

“With limited time to grab unlimited prizes, your adrenaline will get the better of you”, says Tom Wagoner, Agency Sales Rep, Findlay, Ohio. “The Four Seasons Chicago is amazing, but the best part was making close personal friends with top producers”.

“It was like we were shot out of a cannon at the start to get to the prizes we wanted,” says Gail Solomon, DGA, Bonita Springs, Fla. “The excitement was off the charts!”

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to win terri-fic prizes, enjoy Chicago and have fun with your fellow grand prize winners.

There’s still time to qualify!

Calendar 2: Weekly Recurring Sales Rep Calendar

Effective leaders embrace and practice consistency.

But as a value, note the different meanings of consistency: - harmonious uniformity; reli-ability; logical coherence, agree-ment.

Some leaders focus on creating harmonious uniformity. Military leaders understand and practice this aspect of consistency, with the standardization of planning processes, organization, equip-ment, and even personnel.

Some leaders focus on reliabil-ity. When you need them, they are there. You know the leaders you can always rely on.

Some leaders focus on logical coher-ence and agreement. They excel at creating an environment where peo-ple and processes easily connect in a logical manner. Successful leaders within large organizations tend to ex-hibit this trait, engaging various par-ties to work together – almost natu-rally.

For me personally, the value of con-sistency is about reliability – to be dependable, faithful, and authentic.

The correct protocol for a Colonia Life agent that is market-ing and they run across a Colonial Life account is to thank them for their business, smile, and leave. This protocol is the only acceptable practice in the above-mentioned situation. We do not ask who their agent is, whether they are happy, or mention the status of a rep’s contract with our organization. As the manager for an entire territory, I have a responsibility to support all of our active agents and their accounts throughout our entire team. I will support anyone who fol-lows proper protocol or conversely protect the agent whose account was approached by another agent and not han-dled/communicated in the proper fashion. Each manager is able to request active status of an account, rep, or broker by asking TEAs Stephen or Marti; please do so via email, how-ever, so that there is record of your request without involving the client. Professionalism and teamwork is how I expect our team to operate on a daily basis and moving forward this is my continued expectation from everyone in our organization.
