Thetimingchainsarepositionedattherearoftheengine.Itisthereforenecessarytoremovetheengine,transmissionandflywheelbeforeitispossibletoremoveandreplacethetimingchains.
TheCrankshaftPulleymayrequireturningtoapositionjustbeforeTopDeadCentretoenabletheCrankshaftAlignmentPin(B)tobeinserted.
ThethreadedholesinthecamshaftsmustfaceupwardsandlocktheBalancerShaftinposition.
FittheCamshaftLockingTools(A)inposition,andtightenthesecuringboltsto20Nm.(Ifthistoolcannotbefitted,thevalvetimingisincorrect).
Itwillbenecessarytoremovethechaintensionerstoenablechainremovalandreplacement.
TheTensionerplungermustbedepressedandlockedinpositionwithTensionerLockingPin(C)
WiththechainsremovedaligntheCamshaftsandrefittheCamshaftAlignmenttools(A)
Refit the chains.
Itisrecommendedthatfollowingtheremovalofalltoolsthecrankshaftisturnedtwiceandthevalvetimingpositionsre-checkedbyre-fittingthecamshaftandcrankshafttools.
