This booklet is a comprehensive and detailed breakdown of all the awards and recognitions
being offered by District 82 to its members, clubs and district officers. These awards have been
curated to encourage and recognise the members, clubs and officers who achieve excellence
during this Toastmaster year.
Provided below is a log of the amendments made to this document since it’s initial publication.

The allocated period for the 2020-2021 awards, is from 01st July 2020 to 30th April 2021. Any
submission beyond 30th April 2021 will NOT be considered (except for a few special awards to
be achieved after 30th April 2021)
The submission cut-off date for the various awards vary, therefore, please review each
awards’ requirement and submission guideline carefully to avoid disappointment.

a Certificate of Appreciation with the corresponding TI Award Ribbon.

Toastmasters, namely the Distinguished Toastmaster.

and January 31st, 2021.
• 80% retention of total area membership base (as of 30th June 2020) while achieving a
net growth of 8% in membership payments

• Minimum of 3 members from each club should participate in all TLI events per Term

This award recognises clubs who are able to attract at least 8 new members and retain 80% of
their club members during the two periods indicated.
Eight-80 award Term #1:
a) New/Dual/Reinstated Member Registration Criteria - “Eight”
Add Eight (8) new, dual, or reinstated members with a join date between 1st July 2020
and 30th September 2020. (Club must have added and paid for all 8 new members with
their membership starting on or before 30th September 2020)
b) Member Retention Criteria - “80%”
1) The Club must have completed the Renewal payments by 30th September 2020
2) The club must have renewed for 80% or over of the existing membership
present in the Membership Roster on 30th June 2020. Retention percentage of the
club will be computed based on the data available on the TI dashboard/Membership
roster on 30th September 2020 (i.e. Finalized Roster for the month of September
2020 Vs Finalized Membership Roster for the month of June 2020).
▪ Clubs meeting the above two criteria (a & b) will be qualified for Term #1 of “Eight-80”

The first 30 clubs to complete their April renewals up to the club's membership "To Date" count
as of 30th November 2020 will receive this award. The "To Date" count can be found on your
club dashboard page (dashboards.toastmasters.org).
Clubs with less than 20 members, will need to reach 20 or more members during the renewal
to receive the award. And all new members need to be added with a join date before 31st
March 2021.

by 30th June 2020 are eligible.
• Clubs that achieve Golden Gavel award or Silver Eagle award
will not be eligible for the Phoenix award.

• The club will be awarded 5 points per renewal cycle, as per following:
o If a club with a membership base (i.e. members as at 30th June 2020) of less
than 20 members - reaches 20 renewals in both renewal cycles*
o If a club with a membership base (i.e. members as at 30th June 2020) of more
than 20 members - renews its membership base*
• All renewals need to be completed for the two renewal cycles on or before 30th
September 2020 and on or before 31st March 2021, respectively
• Club will be awarded 5 additional points per renewal cycle if the club renews for base
membership count + 5 members.
• For both the renewals, the base membership is the count of the Member Base of the
club which appears on the dash board.
* Note:
Clubs do not need to renew the same roster of members; they only need to match the
number of members with the number of renewals for each cycle.
Therefore, if a club has less than 20 members or knows that some members may not
renew in the upcoming cycle, they can add/reinstate members (before 30th September 2020
or 31st March 2021), so that the total number of renewals, by the cut-off dates, will meet the
above-mentioned criteria
