First are baby wipes! I love baby wipes, they are great for makeup removal. Working with so many skin types, I never know who's going to be sensitive to what, so using unscented baby wipes that are hypo-allergenic and saturated with cleanser to break down the makeup are the best. The price is affordable and the quantity is great! I usually get a 50 pack for $2.99, a price you can't beat!

next are Q-tips. I keep them in just about every bag I own. Q-Tips are ideal for cleaning up makeup mistakes, to mixing up different lipstick colors. I like multi-purpose items, as they can be used for just about anything.

My last makeup must-have is not an actual beauty product; but, it is a necessity and it is stain remover. For those times when makeup gets on fabric, stain remover is a life saver. Certain makeup products can get into places and onto things that I don't want to have ruined by product stains. So, keeping stain remover wipes handy is a must!

Share with me some of your beauty product must-haves at [email protected] and I'll post them to the lipstick Mixtapes blog!

Until next time, love & lipstick!

In this month's beauty insider, I am sharing with you a few of my favorite beauty products. They aren't the traditional makeup products that you would expect; but, they can be

used in a beauty bind nonetheless. Being a Makeup artist, I have certain items that are a must for my makeup kit. These products are affordable, easy to use and they get the job done.

Make It CountWith "mr. Flute" Gentry

As director and Founder of Young Blacks in action, Inc. (YBa), an organization that serves Central Florida Youth, I actively participate in the lives

of youth daily. Since starting YBa in 1979, I have won numerous awards for community service that include: Tom Joyner’s Morning Show real Fathers/real Men; the omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. - Chi Tau Chapter 2010 Citizen of the Year; the orlando Police Good Citizenship award, the 2011 arthur “Pappy” Kennedy lifetime achievement award; the Star 94.5 FM Mercedes Benz Community Service award; Commissioner Samuel B. Ings for district Six distinguished Service award; the 2011 BeT Shine-a-light Community Service award, the national Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. Community leader, and more recently the Pam Powell’s living legends award to name a few.

It was several years ago when I started the YBa House annual event. It was suggested by my staff member, George Harmon, to rent a house at the end of each season to celebrate the members and their participation. We have stayed in daytona, St. Cloud, Kissimmee and some other Florida locations over the years. This past year, we held our YBa House annual event beginning Thursday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 6th, in davenport, Florida.

as always, funding is an issue for my group. This is due to our being totally funded from personal donations, a few public charities, and literally neighborhood pockets and pocketbooks. For 33 years, I have begged, borrowed and begged some more for donations above what I was able personally to financially provide, and it has worked. Young Blacks in action, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that has served more than 5,000 young people directly and more than I can count indirectly. Those served directly, refers to youth who were actually YBa musicians and dancers. The indirect refers to their siblings, their parents, and those youth who hung around YBa to get a hug, a good talking to, or a word of acknowledgment. and of course, members of the audience who admired us as we strutted pass them in a parade, with our syncopated rhythm and our incomparable sound.

I have found myself many times in the past (and still today) being just a person; specifically, a man who young people can talk to and trust. Many of the YBa members arrive early to our weekly practice sessions to tell me about their day in school. often, alumni stop by to give the kids encouragement or to tell me how they are doing. Unfortunately, many of the young people who I am around do not have fathers in their homes, and I

am their YBa dad. recently, I was invited to a former YBa member’s wedding who calls me dad. I attended the wedding and she and her family were so very happy. I felt very proud as she glided down the aisle to her future husband. In some cases, several parents have listed me on their child’s record as a person to contact in case of an emergency. Many of the parents work and cannot get off from work. They know [parents] that I will respond and leave work to go to the school and find out what is happening. oftentimes, the schools just need someone (a parent preferably) to immediately respond to a situation and make or take the necessary steps to correct the problem. Quite frankly, many of the youth who participate in my program reportedly have problems in their schools and/or homes, but do not have problems with me or in my program. I have had children whose parents have abandoned them to the foster care system and are in my program. also, I have other children who take medications for emotional disorders such as add, adHd, etc. or other purported behavioral issues. But I can say when they are with me; they are happy, attentive and follow YBa rules. now let me clarify this more, what I mean is that the problem is still there, but does not show itself with me or in my program, because I do not concentrate on the problem – I concentrate on the kid!

at our YBa House annual event we had more than 40 children over a three day period. We swam, ate, had a talent show, went skating, had an awards celebration (each kid received a trophy, certificate and medals) and of course, we danced! My volunteer staff, nor I, had one problem. The kids clearly enjoyed themselves. over the span of the weekend, I gave out more hugs, more encouragement, and more positive reinforcement to the members of YBa, their siblings and parents that joined us for our annual event.

I will always remember, despite my van running hot, not sure where the money was coming from to give out the awards, how were we going to actually transport all of the kids who wanted to participate, is the little ones who asked, “Mr. Flute, Will you rock me to sleep?” as I rocked the child and myself to sleep, I thought about all of the dads and fathers who, voluntarily and involuntarily had abdicated their roles as dads and fathers in their children’s lives. So my message is this, “Men, you absolutely must not waste any more time – your child or some child needs you to rock them to sleep; to be there when they wake up, to help them get dressed for school, to help them with their homework, to protect them, to provide for them and to prepare them for their future as only a dad or father can.” Happy Father’s day to men who protect, provide, and prepare children - our future!

Remember when Summer consisted of being sent outside at your grandmother's house for hours on end, making up

games to pass the time? From freeze tag to hop scotch, the days were much simpler then, when you had an endless supply of energy that was only interrupted by lunch and bathroom breaks. Now that we are adults, we have packed away our double-dutch jump ropes and erased the 4-Square lines. We have allowed our playtime imagination to fade away.

Well, it's time to pull your old play clothes out of the back of the closet, and give them to Goodwill, because more than likely, they no longer fit. Although times have changed, there are some things that will always be the same, and it's the look in a child's eyes when they get to play without a care in the world. Taking your child for an afternoon walk or dancing around the house like there's no one watching, are not only great forms of exercise, but an excellent way to strengthen a family's relationship.

These moments in time flee quickly, so cherish the time you have with the one's you value the most; because in the blink of an eye their fun time will be spent with their own kids. So, here are some quick ideas for family fun time in and outdoors.

OuTDOOr ACTiviTiES• Hang out at the park - Swings, slides and

plenty of space to run• Enjoy a picnic - Grab a blanket, basket and

throw in a few sandwiches• Pick some fruit - There are plenty of places

to go pick fruit and enjoy the fresh air • Take an evening stroll - It's free!!!• Go bike riding - Find a trail or just follow

them down the sidewalk• Go to a baseball game - It's not about the

game, it's about the experience!

inDOOr ACTiviTiES• Play the Wii - Dance, Dance, Dance.... It's

ok for your child to see your silly side!• Sing and dance like no one's watching -

Turn on some music and cut a rug• Plan a special meal - Cooking together

brings a family together• READ, WRITE, PRAY & COLOR - Self

explanatory

Time flies when we are having fun; but it goes even faster when we look back at the times we have missed, because we were relying on tomorrow to come, but it never did. Enjoy these moments, no matter how small, because in the eyes of a child they are monumental.

~ Special Message ~Children are born every day, but Mothers and Fathers aren't discovered until a child reflects back on their life to realize the values, morals and dreams that were instilled in them are the reason they are, who they are today.

Although he appears to be a fresh face in the political arena, he is no novice to the needs and concerns

of the constituents of what is now known as Florida’s House district 46. Sean Bradford’s feet are firmly planted in the district that he has called home for his entire life. Growing up on the heels of a father whose civic engagement also led him to vie for public office, Sean has taken the lessons and examples of leadership, citizenship and compassion from his father to fuel his own race for a seat at the top. Mr. Bradford shares with Gospel now his attachment to district 46, and his desire to improve the lives of not only the constituents of his district; but more importantly, his neighbors.

as a candidate for Florida’s House of representatives District 46, what gives you the confidence that you are the person who should hold this office?

As a life-long resident and product of District 46, I am assured that the concerns of the citizenry are very similar to mine. Having grown up here, I will bring to the forefront the issues that affect us each and every day. I am not some ‘Johnny-come-lately;’ but, I have been here and see the changes that need to be made. I have always been involved in community activities.

With life-long ties to the central Florida community, what level of engagement do you have with the constituents of this region?

Past President of the Southwest Orlando Jaycees, President of the Central Florida

Chapter Alumni Association of South Carolina State University, involvement with guidance interactions, involvement as a Youth Usher Sponsor at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, involved with my high school class (Jones High School) where scholarship funds are provided for the students of Jones High School, and Chaplain for the Sons of AMVETS Post 30.

considering the concerns and needs of district 46, where do you see yourself serving within the House, to make the greatest possible impact for your constituents?

I believe jumping right in to fight for education has to be a priority. Privatization of our public school dollars will only continue to drain an already strapped system. We must also continue to support our teachers by equipping them with tools that work for their students, and not more standardization created in a box. Also, giving control back to the teachers.

your community involvement is extensive, and speaks favorably to your genuine interest in the lives of the citizens within your district. How have your grass-roots efforts prepared you for service in government?

Being involved in my father's past campaigns and his community involvements, and service to the community afforded me to see and learn what the community’s problems are, and identify where I can start to make viable efforts

towards the solutions.

Most great men and women acknowledge the lift provided to their lives by the one’s upon whose shoulders they have been allowed to stand. Who would be that person in your life, and what principle(s) of theirs have you adopted as your own, especially in your quest for the District 46 Seat?

My father, Wardell Sims, instilled in me that I can accomplish anything; and he [modeled before] me [the importance of] being a people person and a man. [He taught me the] importance of being elected for the people and by the people, instead of [doing it for] self-gratification. He also taught me about the importance of apprenticeship training, and the role that organized labor has played with the working class. My father ran for this office (formerly districts 40 & 39).

Is this campaign your first attempt at securing a formal place in public service? Why now and why this level?

Yes. Again, as a product of this District, I believe it is now time for a fresh perspective, and ideals that are directly related to the constituency of the district; and I know the needs of the community, being that I grew up in the district and still reside in the district.

What do you foresee as your greatest challenges in representing District 46?

Funding for the programs that cannot be sacrificed…educational/vocational and economic development in the district.

do you have a personal strategy for success that you have developed specifically for this campaign? How is it helping you in this challenge?

Yes. Running a grass roots campaign and having personal contacts with voters, getting voters to the polls by whatever means possible, letting the people know that I have great concern for them. [This strategy] gives motivation to voters on the importance of letting their voices being heard.

In the course of its functioning, our body manufactures approximately 100,000 different chemicals everyday, and performs literally billions of chemical and electrical

operations. To do that, it needs 50 or so raw materials each day. Equally important, the body needs to avoid receiving substances that are toxic to its delicate, complex and balanced operations.

Pesticides such as DDT, Dialdrin, Aldrin, and Heptaclore are among the most toxic chemicals known to science, designed to kill living creatures. Along with other industrial fertilizers and chemicals, they run off into our lakes, rivers and oceans, contaminating both water supplies and marine animals. These chemicals become more concentrated as they move up the food chain.

Not only farm animals, but fish in fresh water and even in the ocean are gradually being poisoned by a combination of pesticides and herbicides; yet, the DDT which wiped out fish and small game, left its prime target, the boll weevil, alive and kicking.

Farm animals also concentrate in their fat and livers, toxic chemicals found in their food. Since these chemicals are in all food now, it is impossible for this concentration not to occur, even in animals that are raised organically. The livers of prime animals are confiscated much of the time because they contain abscesses and toxic substances. Commercially grown chickens have arsenic and stilbesterol in their bodies, and much of it winds up in the liver. The liver is the detoxifying organ of the body, and that's where these poisons go. Today, virtually all livestock now receive heavy doses of antibiotics to counter the diseased conditions associated with chemical pesticides.

These higher chemical concentrations, as we move up the food chain, are confirmed in tests. In a study from 1964 to 1968, for instance, it was found that, compared to the average pesticide residues found in plant foods: dairy foods had about three times as much; meat, fish and poultry had about six times as much.

In the food chain of life, plants play an essential role, as man cannot ingest essential elements directly from the soil. They must be brought to him through

the nourishing elements of living plants, which likewise feed all animals, directly, or indirectly. Through plants and animals our bodies grow out of the soil. However, when toxic chemicals are added to the soil, vegetables, grains, and seeds absorb these toxins, converting them into "mutated pathogens."

Every time the body must devote resources in the attempt to detoxify and expel these toxins, energy is taken away from other and better uses. Sometimes, the body simply doesn't have the time or ability to deal with them, and so it stores them away in the tissues, organs, or muscles. This build-up of toxins and poisonous chemicals in the organs is what leads to disease.

In this connection with pesticides, there is a startling relationship between the consumption of milk and dairy proteins and insulin-dependent diabetes. Because of the "legal amount of DDT allowable in milk" established by the Food and Drug Administration, most cow's milk continues to be contaminated by DDT and other pesticides.

Pesticides concentrate in milk of both farm animals and humans. A study by the Environmental Defense Fund found widespread pesticide contamination of the human breast milk among 1,400 women in forty-six states. The levels of contamination were twice as high among the meat and dairy-eating women as among vegetarians. There seems to be a growing consensus among scientists and nutritionists that dairy proteins play a major role in the genesis of metabolic disease. This suggests that the milk and animal proteins that people have been ingesting since 1940, is the real reason for diabetes and other metabolic diseases.

On top of this, cow's milk contains many proteins that are poorly digested

and harmful to the immune system. It appears that milk protein such as casein, lactalbumin, and

lactoglobulin is the most usual culprit. In addition, many people do not produce enough of the enzyme "lactase" to digest "lactose" (milk sugar). This condition gives rise to a condition known as "lactose intolerance." Black people do not produce enough lactase to sufficiently digest milk products; and therefore, have a high rate of lactose intolerance.

So, why is it that black people seem to have one

of the highest rates of diabetes than most Americans? Well, people in different parts of the world eat varying amounts of dairy food. What determines whether it becomes a health risk food seems to depend on two things: your innate resistance (how well your body can cope with the proteins, fats, sugars, and chemicals) and how much of it you consume. The milk proteins, along with the pesticide chemicals somehow leads to an auto-immune reaction aimed at the pancreas and ultimately to impairment of the pancreas' ability to produce insulin.

In the past, I have put some of my diabetic patients on a diet with very low amounts of fat, sugar, and dairy. Usually, within weeks, a large percentage no longer needed insulin. Others were given a complete herbal and diet program, and were able to stop using insulin all together.

A diet without dairy products is closer to the African diet. In fact, no animal in the wild consumes milk or dairy products past the period of nursing. Neither did Africans until their enslavement in the Americas. We apparently had no problem with diabetes during the time we consumed a mostly herbivore diet in Africa.

Mounting evidence shows that the onslaught of decades of pesticides and other poisonous chemicals in our food and milk is the real cause of diabetes. If you, or anyone in your family have diabetes and are experiencing health problems, and dairy is a part of your diet, it makes sense to completely eliminate the dairy and observe the results.

Flavanoids: Beneficial for MenA regular consumption of fruits and vegetables provides

significant protection against breast, colon and other types of cancer. The risk of cancer is typically

reduced by about 50 percent or more in those consuming daily servings of fruits and vegetables versus those who do not. Different fruits and vegetables may provide protection against cancer at certain locations.

For example, the use of carrots and green, leafy vegetables provide substantial protection against lung cancer; while broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower provide useful protection against colon cancer. The regular consumption of cabbage has been shown to decrease the risk of colon cancer by 60 to 70 percent, while the regular use of onions or garlic can decrease the risk of stomach and colon cancer by 50 to 60 percent. Recently, regular consumption of tomatoes and strawberries were found to substantially protect against prostate cancer.PHyTocHeMIcal FeaST

The national Cancer institute identified about 35 plant foods that possess cancer-protective properties. The foods and herbs with the highest anti-cancer activity include garlic, soybeans, cabbage, ginger, licorice root, carrots, celery, coriander, parsley, and parsnips. Additional foods with cancer-protective activity include onions, flax, citrus, turmeric, cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower), tomatoes and sweet peppers, brown rice, oats, barley, various herbs (such as mints, rosemary, thyme, oregano, sage and basil), cucumber, cantaloupe and berries.

The many flavonoids in fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains have extensive biological properties that promote human health and help reduce the risk of disease. Flavonoids act as antioxidants, protect cholesterol from oxidation to the unsafe cholesterol oxides, inhibit the formation of blood clots, and have anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor action. One study found that men with the highest consumption of flavonoids had 60 percent less mortality from heart disease and 70 percent lower risk of stroke than the low flavonoid consumers.BeneFITS oF Flax

The use of flax seed can lower blood cholesterol levels due to its very low saturated fat content and rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seed can also enhance immune function and promotes anti-inflammatory action. It has been used in the treatment of lupus and arthritis. Flax seed and other oilseeds such as sesame, are very rich sources of lignans, which are converted in the colon to cancer-protective substances. These estrogen-like metabolites can bind to estrogen receptors and inhibit the growth of estrogen-stimulated breast cancer.ProTecTIon FroM WHole GraInS and nuTS

Many of the cancer-preventive phytochemicals found in fruits and vegetables are similar to those found in whole grains and nuts. The phytochemicals are concentrated in the bran and the germ of the kernel, so that the health benefits of grains are maximized when the whole grain product is consumed. Cereal grains and nuts contain substantial levels of tocotrienols (a

form of vitamin E with powerful antioxidant activity), which strongly inhibit tumor growth and elicit a significant reduction in blood cholesterol levels.GraPeS are Good For you

Red grape juice and red wine contain a significant level of flavonoids and red anthocyanin pigments that act as antioxidants. These substances protect cholesterol from oxidation, reduce blood lipid levels, and inhibit blood clot formation, thereby providing protection against heart disease. It is the trans-resveratrol (a flavonoid) content of red wine, rather than the alcohol content, that has been shown to reduce the tendency of blood clots to form. Substantial levels of trans-resveratrol and other antioxidant compounds are found in the grapes and unfermented grape juice, clearly safer sources than the red wine.

The regular use of raisins (3-4 ounces/day for 2 months) has been shown to lower blood cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels, improve bowel function and possibly lower the risk of colon cancer. In addition to fiber, the raisins contain the active phytochemical tartaric acid.PIGMenTS are More THan JuST color

There are about 4000 known plant pigments in our food, including thousands of flavonoids, and hundreds of carotenoids and anthocyanins. These pigments do more than provide color to our foods. They also protect us from disease.

Anthocyanins are the water-soluble, reddish pigments found in many fruits, such as strawberries, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes and black currants. Since anthocyanins inhibit cholesterol synthesis, these fruits provide protection against heart disease.

Carotenoids are the pigments found in yellow-orange vegetables (carrots, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes) and leafy, green vegetables (kale, broccoli and collard greens), and the red and yellow-orange fruits (mangoes, pineapple, peaches, oranges, pink grapefruit, tomatoes, strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe) known to possess significant anti-tumor activity. The carotenoids are also known to enhance immune function. Persons with high blood levels of carotenoids have a reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.ProTecTIon FroM SeaSonInG HerBS

Garlic, onions and other members of the Allium family are rich in sulfides and other protective substances. Garlic is known to decrease the tendency of blood clots to form, significantly lower blood cholesterol levels and risk of cancer at different sites. Terpenoids are responsible for the flavors of many common herbs and seasonings. Many of these substances are reported to be useful cancer chemo-preventive agents. A diet in which herbs are generously used to flavor the food will provide a variety of substances that promote health and protect against chronic diseases.

bOOST TESTOSTERONE Naturally

Testosterone is an anabolic steroid hormone that plays a critical role in metabolism, sex drive, muscle building, mood regulation, memory and cognitive function. Normal testosterone levels play a huge role in maintaining optimal weight as well as reducing risk of degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, & certain cancers. Testosterone is produced in the testes and adrenal glands. Testosterone is known to peak in the early twenties and then drop about 10% with each successive decade. Men are said to lose 1.5% of their testosterone production each year beyond 30. When men lose a greater proportion of their testosterone it is called andropause. Symptoms of male andropause include lowered libido, decreased muscle mass, increased abdominal fat accumulation, depression, lack of drive (energy), and increased inflammation (pain).

The key to stabilizing testosterone levels begins with an anti-inflammatory diet. This should be loaded with phytonutrient rich fruits and vegetables. Grains and sugars stimulate higher levels of insulin and cortisol. Cortisol is the anti-thesis to testosterone. The body produces high cortisol when faced with chronic chemical, physical, and emotional stressors. Healthy blood sugar balance is critical to stabilizing cortisol and boosting testosterone. Healthy fat sources are extremely critical for good hormone function. Fats and cholesterol play a critical role in forming the structure and rigidity of our cell membranes. These fats impact cell messaging by acting as enzyme and hormone regulators. The nutrition plan should consist of ample amounts of good fats such as avocado, coconut, and olive oil. Saturated fats, cholesterol, conjugated linoleic acids

and essential omega-3 fatty acid from healthy, grass-fed animal products are excellent. Xenoestrogens, artificial hormone mimicking substances, are linked to lower testosterone levels. These xenoestrogens are found in tap water, plastics, home cleaning agents, deodorants, soaps, cosmetics & body lotions. Many medications also contain heavy amounts of synthetic xenoestrogens as well. Avoiding these sources along with ensuring a diet rich in raw and lightly cooked fruits and vegetables will provide fiber and phytonutrients that help the body eliminate these toxic substances.

High intensity exercise is crucial to boosting testosterone. Exercises should be explosive in nature and maximize the resistive overload on the muscles. Large muscle group compound lifts such as squats, deadlifts and burpees are some of the best testosterone boosting exercises. The training session should be short (5-30 mins) and have very little rest periods between sets. Using high quality non-denatured sources of whey protein post-exercise boosts testosterone. This is due to the high concentration of branched-chain amino acids such as leucine that are rich in whey protein. These BCAA's stimulate muscle protein synthesis, which boosts testosterone production.

Eatonville Citizens Give Mayor Mount A Second TermBy Roger Caldwell

There is a new spirit that permeates and spreads around the Town of Eatonville, and it starts with Mayor Bruce Mount. Mayor Mount is ecstatic

and humbled that the citizens of the town believe in his plans to help move forward his initiatives for another term. In a recent interview with the mayor, we discussed his future plans for Eatonville, and the significance of Founders Day, the 125th anniversary of the town.

Eatonville is a town in Orange County, Florida, six miles north of Orlando. Businessman Joseph Clarke bought 112 acres from Maitland Mayor Josiah Eaton, and began selling lots to black families. On August 18, 1887, 27 registered voters, all black men, met and voted to incorporate the town. The vote made history, because Eatonville became the first incorporated African American community in the nation.

“When I first came into office, we needed to secure that property, so we rented it from Orange County for a dollar a year. We are in the process of purchasing the school. It is important to keep that going, because we use the gym for recreation, we use the cafeteria as a rental facility, and we have the classrooms in there,” explains Mayor Mount. The Hungerford property has been an integral historical part of the community since 1930, and to lose the property would be tragic.

Mayor Mount would like for the Hungerford property to become a Charter School, a vehicle to help facilitate economic development. “We need economic development in the town, something like the Winter Park Village. In the Village you have eateries, movie theatres, condos, and that’s what going to drive this community. In these economic times, we know it needs

all the revenue it can get, so that’s what I started in my first term, and that needs to carry over to my second term,” says the mayor.

In 2012, Mayor Mount had a record turnout for his election, because he holds voting on Saturday, and more citizens are available for voting. He is very proud of this achievement, and he believes that more counties will follow his lead.

When Mayor Mount took office, Eatonville was notorious for having disorganized records, and misplaced records. “I am very proud to say

that this is the first time since 1980 that the Town of Eatonville is caught up on its audits. When I came into office, we were three years behind on our audits and the records were in shambles. The state of Florida cannot believe that we did it in such a short period of time,” says the mayor with a big smile. The mayor has put some of the information on-line, and every department

is responsible for delivering their records to the Town Clerk.

“Visit Orlando and Experience Eatonville” is the new motto and slogan for the town. The town is well known around the nation and the world, because of the branding of the Zora Festival each year. Mayor Mount is extremely excited about the Founder’s Day 125th anniversary week celebration in August 18, 2012.

“We will be unveiling our streetscape, we will have a parade, and we will have an educational component where we talk about the town, the mayor’s breakfast, and a banquet. We will have a week of festivities, and we are planning a big celebration, because we are proud of our history, and we have faith in our future,” explains Mayor Mount.

There are challenges in Eatonville, but the government is transparent, and the leaders have integrity. Mayor Mount has plans that are fresh and exciting, which will move the town forward. Every Monday and Wednesday, he has a walk and talk group, and their goal is to be the healthiest community in America. For more information on the Founder’s Day Celebration, contact www.townofeatonville.org or call 407-623-8900.

The second term is very significant. We had the opportunity to start some things the first term with the acquiring of the Hungerford property, which was a school in the town that was closed. We also started our streetscape, which is our gateway project to the town. During the first term, I was able to turn the perception around of eatonville, because in the media the perception was negative almost daily; so I am glad to have a second term to keep those initiatives going, says Mayor Mount.

The law requires that most non-U .S . citizens report a change of address within 10 days of moving, by completing a Change of Address

form with USCIS . Additionally, petitioners and sponsors are required to report a change of address whether they are a U .S . citizen or permanent resident . It is also mandatory for any alien who has been designated as a “special registrant” to inform the USCIS whenever he or she has a change of address, employment or school .

In the past, INS required every alien in the United States to report his or her address annually, in January . This requirement was eliminated in 1980 and annual reporting is no longer required . However, if you are not a U .S . citizen, the law still requires that you report any change of address within 10 days of the change .

As a U .S . citizen, you are only legally required to update your address with USCIS if you have ever submitted an Affidavit of Support to be the financial sponsor of someone so they can immigrate . You are required by law to report any change of address within 30 days of your move by filing a Sponsor’s Notice of Change of Address . Additionally, a U .S . citizen and permanent resident (green card holder) will be required to submit a change of address on-line or by calling USCIS if they have a pending petition filed for a family member .

Any notices or documents USCIS sends to you are considered official Government mail . If your name is not on the mailbox and/ or registered with the local U .S . Postal Service Office, the Postal Service may not deliver official Government mail to you . Please remember to register your name and address with the local post office and to put your name on your mailbox . HOW dO i rEPOrt My CHAnGE OF AddrESS?

If you are not a U .S . citizen, changing your address for legal purposes does not change your address on any application or petition pending with USCIS, and changing your address on a pending application or petition does not meet the legal requirements of informing USCIS of your change of address .

For most cases, a petitioner or sponsor can change

their address on a pending petition and inform USCIS of their change of address by accessing the new web-based service provided by the USCIS website . If you choose to use this online tool, you can complete an electronic Form AR-11 and notify USCIS to update your address on most pending cases .

If you choose not to complete an electronic Form AR-11, you will be required to obtain a paper Form AR-11, and mail it to the address shown on the form . This will delay the process of notifying USCIS significantly . Not filing an electronic AR-11, and choosing to mail in a paper AR-11 will not update your address on any applications or petitions pending with USCIS .

Regardless of whether or not you are a U .S . citizen, if you choose not to use the electronic change of address notification, you will need to call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to request that the address on your pending application/petition be changed .

If you are not a U .S . citizen and you have a case pending with USCIS, you will need to do both – call customer service and complete the paper AR-11 . Completing an AR-11 does not update your address on any pending case . Also, notifying customer service does not meet the legal requirement of completing an AR-11 . If you mail a paper Form AR-11, it is recommended to use certified, registered or return receipt mail . This is not currently a requirement of USCIS; however, it is advisable to send the AR-11 by a method that will give you documentation that you did mail the form to USCIS, in case there should ever be a question .

2012 Dove AwArDs

Gospel Now Magazine contributing writers Will and Gwen Covingtonwere thrilled to attend and be a part of a special evening at the 43rd AnnuAL GMA DOvE AWArDS, the nation's largest Gospel/Christian music celebratory event. It was held Thursday, April 19, 2012

at the legendary, fabulous FOX Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Celebration of GOD's MESSAGE began with a remarkable pre-show event followed by a 1.5 hours memorable red carpet affair with an incredible line-up of diverse talents who later electrified and inspired the audience. Among the amazing talents were Donnie McClurkin, Jason Crabb, Natalie Grant, The Issacs, Ruben Studdard, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, nicole Mullen, and many more. There was no-ending laughter brought by both hilarious hosts David Mann (Meet The Browns) and Chonda Pierce (This Ain't Prettyville). Grammy-nominated hip hop artist, LECRAE, walked away with top honors ( two DOVE AWARDS) in major categories Hip Hop Song of the Year (HALLELUJAH) and Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year (REHAB:THE OVERDOSE). The Gospel Music Association (GMA) produces the DOvE AWArDS. GMA founded in 1964, serves as the face and voice for the Gospel/Christian music community; and is dedicated to exposing, promoting, and celebrating GOSPEL through all music styles including POP, Rock, Praise & Worship, Urban Gospel, R&B, Hip Hop, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, Country, and more. This awards process is enormous. Nominations are submitted in 43 categories. For a full list of winners, go to www.doveawards.com.
