Lauren Lauren is a plus model based in Los Angeles. She has an amazing look and an even more amazing spirit. Lauren booked her first job right away for Target and is proof that you can have it all; health, beauty, spirit, fashion, and of course fun. We love everything that is Lauren and we are so excited to have her as a team member at HNS.

Why do you believe in Healthy is the New Skinny? I believe Healthy is the New Skinny is such a positive movement because every second of everyday young girls are reminded of the “Hollywood” version of what it is to be  beautiful. The beauty we’ve all seen growing up has always been the tall lean “perfect” size 2 or 4 with flowing hair and a sparkling smile but what most young girls don’t know is, behind the scenes the women that looks so beautiful and happy are often times unhappy women that feel forced to maintain a standard that is close to impossible. Healthy is the New Skinny reminds girls everywhere that the “perfect” size 2 is not always the healthy size and will not make you happy. 

“Happiness is not about what you have or what you look like, it’s about how you feel. Weather I

have a little or a lot, or if I’m big boned or a size 2, my happiness comes from within.”- Lauren!

If you could go back to high school and give yourself a message from the future what would it be and why?

In high school I was constantly worried about my size and the fact that I was bigger than most of my friends. Being bigger was always a sensitive subject for me but I always pretended like it didn’t bother me. People would constantly compliment me on my looks but I often times questioned myself as to why. If I could go back to my high school self I would tell her she is  beautiful, smart and a shining star just the way she is… then ask her why it’s so hard for her to see what everyone else sees?

I want girls all over the world to know that perfect is impossible but happiness is attainable. The sooner we all accept our imperfections the happier our life will be…!

Do you think change is possible?

What changes would you like to see for your generation of women and the next generations to come?  I would like to see more women encouraging and complimenting one another on the things and qualities that make each woman beautiful on the inside and the outside. 

Yes, I believe change is possible … all it takes are more voices encouraging the movement and more images projecting a fuller healthier looking tomorrow :-)

As women we all go through a week where nothing “looks right” and you feel like crying … my friends and I have made a pack to always call and remind each other that we are beautiful and these emotions are temporary. Every time we talk about it how discombobulated we get for no reason we bust out in laughter. !
