THE PROBLEM: Safe drinking water, basic health, hygiene education and sanitation facilities are sporadic for many impoverished people in developing countries throughout the world. Everyday, approximately 6,000 people, mostly children, die as a result of water-related causes.

THE SOLUTION: The AWWA NJ Water For People Committee raises money throughout the year with various fundraising events, including the Annual Wine Pairing Dinner in the Fall and the Annual Water For People Golf Classic in May to help fund Water For People Projects.

Water For People is an international nonprofit development organization committed to long-term, sustainable solutions that increase access to safe drinking water and improve sanitation conditions in developing communities around the world. Water For People has found that providing safe drinking water to a community can serve as a catalyst for greater community development.
