Topics of Discussion
The San José / Evergreen CCD Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) has been developed to enable the District and Colleges to respond to extraordinary emergency situations.
The EOPs do not address day-to-day operations. In the event of a major emergency the EOP requires that
District and College EOC responders communicate, coordinate and cooperate with each other and with other emergency responders in the field.

Assumptions
San José City College and Evergreen Valley College: Are primarily responsible for emergency actions on their
property under the supervision of the District. Will utilize National Incident Management System (NIMS) /
Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) / Incident Command System (ICS) in its emergency operations.
Will commit on-hand resources to a reasonable degree before requesting mutual aid.

Government Code 3100 Disaster Service Workers
In accordance with the Government Code of the State of California, Section 3100-3101, all college district employees are hereby declared civil defense workers, subject to such civil defense activities as may be assigned to them (…all public employees are hereby declared to be disaster service workers subject to such disaster service activities as may be assigned to them by their superiors or by law.).

Crisis Action Team Responsibilities
Bring together all relevant information about the emergency in one place.
Bring together all key management staff in one place to coordinate the response.
Organize the emergency information in a useful format for the District and/or College’s decision making body.
Facilitate the coordination of resources needed to mitigate the effects of the emergency.

SAFETY MARSHAL PROGRAM
The Safety Marshal Program has been established to supplement the District Police Department to respond to major emergencies or disasters.
