Introduction

LAWNITE

LawNite is an annual gala dinner which involves the academic and non-

academic staffs and students of the Faculty of Law of University of Malaya as well

as the honoured members from the legal fraternity. This event is the most highly

anticipated event among the various activities organized by the Law Society of

University of Malaya (LAWSOC) This event gives a platform to extend honour

and acknowledgement to the law firms for their support over the previous year. Italso provides the honoured members of the legal fraternity with a platform to

interact with the law students as well as scouting for potential talents for their

future recruitments. In 2014, LawNite was held to celebrate yet another successful

year and strengthen the existing versatile network. A total of 20 law firms and

corporate firms had participated in this event. The reception to this event has been

overwhelming for years and we hope to continue this silver tradition with the help

of your firm/company.

Objectives

To enrich the legal fraternity through mutual understanding between

law students and members of the legal profession.

To provide a platform of interaction between the law firms /corporate

firms and the students

To widen the networking among the members of the legal fraternity

To contribute to the society by supporting the less fortunate and the

bodies that aids them.

To obtain self-enrichment while gathering up courage and motivation,

in which to optimize personal and professional growth.

To enhance relationships between students, staff and alumni of the

Faculty.

To grant opportunities to students to gain experience in organizing

events.

To provide an avenue for students to showcase their talents and

abilities.

CORE IDEA OF LAWNITE

The Law Society of University of Malaya is excited to announce our annualgala dinner , with the theme Effulgence.

LawNite is an honoured annual gala dinner organized by the Law Society of

University of Malaya ( LawSoc) . The core idea of this event is to provide an

invaluable opportunity for law students from University of Malaya,academics and members of the legal fraternity to interact and engage with

one another in a relaxed atmosphere. It also serves as an event to celebratethe contributions of the lecturers, staff and student for the Faculty.

The theme Effulgence exudes Brightness, Radiance, Splendor andBrilliance.

Going through the ups and downs in law school, success is unattainablewithout hard work, the audacity to try out new challenges, and the

perseverance to walk through all the challenges ahead. And yet, the finalyear’s not only managed well, they achieved success by breaking through

the clichéd way and emerged as versatile and brilliant being intuitively.

Aside from the final years, this theme literally explains the faculty being one

of the leading and most prestigious law school throughout the nation. Everymember of the faculty is portrayed as outstanding and brilliant beings of the

nations.
