2007 by the Ford Foundation

• excellent implementation of waste management by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources

• 2009 as the Most Child Friendly Municipality of the Philippines

• 2009 won National Awards for its implementation of effective disaster preparedness and for its nutrition programs

• 2008 Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award

Important programs and projects

• The LCW and PBA are the makers of the peach-orange itlog na maalat (salted eggs) organically colored by atsuete and to which San Mateo is also known for.

• These salted eggs have been included in various local, regional and national trade fairs such as OTOP Luzon island Fair in SM Megamall and National Trade Fair at SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia.

Most Child-Friendly Municipality for the 1st -3rd Class categories

• Intensive promotion of children’s rights on survival, development, protection and participation , and child friendly governance

Medical Outreach

• We have also thought of taking good care of mothers since there is no better way to uphold children’s rights than to educate, empower and treat mothers properly.
