145TH BRITISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP AT ROYAL TROONWitness the world’s best golfers compete for

the Claret Jug in South Ayrshire, Scotland, at

Royal Troon. We’ve reserved tickets for the

last two rounds of the oldest of the four major

championships in professional golf. By the third

round on Saturday, the field of 156 will be narrowed

to the top 70 golfers at the championship. Die-hard

golfers will want to reserve both days to witness just

how exciting golf can be at the 138-year-old Royal

Troon course, which is home to both the longest

and shortest holes in Open Championship golf. On

Dear LCV Members,

Happy New Year, Le Club Voyage! I am fresh

off a two-week vacation and have hit the

ground running in 2016. There are just so many

experiences to look forward to in the new year.

The one I’m most excited for is the 2016 LCV

Arabian Gulf and Emirates voyage in October.

Since coming back from break, I have been

relentlessly planning the tours for the voyage.

There are still a few details to be worked out,

but I am confident you will have a wonderful

time, so stay tuned for more information, and

make sure to read further for four new tours

exclusively curated for LCV members.

The beginning of the year is looking like a

whirlwind of activity. Towards the end of February,

I’ll be called to London for the Daily Mail London

Cruise Show on 20 February. After that, who

knows where Le Club Voyage will take me?

2016 has started with a flourish, and it is definitely

an exciting time to be in Le Club. So read on,

follow the ship’s navigation like you’re on an adventure with Indiana Jones. You can even

book Land Discoveries, check your onboard folio, submit feedback, make housekeeping requests, order in-room dining, and call or text other

onboard guests. It’s seriously one smart TV.

It’s a new year for all of us, and 2016 is shaping up to be a big one for Azamara Club Cruises. Both

of our ships are receiving the Reimagine Azamara treatment – the Azamara Journey® is currently

in dry dock and the Azamara Quest® will be in shortly.

Reimagine Azamara is centred around bringing more of our cornerstone philosophy of Destination

Immersion® onboard our ships. What this means is a better, full-circle experience for our guests. The

upgrades throughout the ship have been inspired by the four elements of nature with the intent to

be reminiscent of destinations travelled wherever you are onboard.

Later in the year is our first-ever Le Club Voyage member voyage. I am very excited for you

to experience the unique offerings of the Arabian Gulf. The shopping and dining of the region

The iconic Grgich Hills Estate in Napa Valley

produces world-class wines, while being committed

to natural winegrowing and sustainability. The

estate farms five estate vineyards without artificial

pesticides or herbicides. Grgich Hills relies on wild

yeast fermentation and their passion and art to

create food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

The Fume Blanc comes from cool American

Canyon and Carneros vineyards in the southern

tip of Napa Valley. The Sauvignon Blanc devotes

about 80% to the Musqué clone to provide

elegant, formal aromatics.

CHARDONNAYDomaine Vincent Girardin, Meursault, Les Narvaux, Bourgogne, France 85

Vincent Girardin started his vineyard in 1980, at

the age of 19, when he decided to create his own

wine. While this may make him a relative novice,

his pedigree is steeped in winemaking tradition.

His family has been doing it in Santenay since

the 17th century.

The wine is made from grapes that were harvested

by hand and sorted. They are then lightly pressed

pneumatically at a low pressure to get a slow

extraction. After a gentle racking, the wine is put in

French Oak casks and fermented for 16 months. A

month before bottling, the wine is put in a stainless

steel tank to make the blend, ultimately creating a

wine with great minerality.

Van Duzer Vineyards is the first in Willamette

Valley to benefit from the cool Pacific breezes that

flow nightly through the Van Duzer Corridor to

the interior of the valley. The vineyard flourishes

in the cool-weather growing conditions that

allow for wines to own a purity of fruit flavour,

complexity, and pleasing balance.

The Pinot Noir is Van Duzer’s signature wine. It has

a savory attack that leads into a bright, acid-driven

mid palate. Ample tannins create a generous

structure that progresses toward the wine’s

triumphant finish.

DESSERT WINEInniskillin, Vidal Blanc, Niagara Estate, Niagara Peninsula, Canada 102

Inniskillin is Canada’s original estate winery.

For over 35 years, they have been creating

award-winning table wines and iconic icewines

made by progressive, artisanal winemakers.

They are a respected winery pioneer,

committed to producing premium wines from

premium grapes.

The Vidal Blanc is a hybrid with a thick skin suitable

for harvesting late in the season. It possesses

a good natural acidity, which provides a great

structure to the lusciousness of its tropical aromas

and flavours.
