1. Acceptance
People need assurance that they are truly accepted as they are – that it is safe to say in the group what they really think and feel.
Unless there is a spirit of respect and acceptance, people will not be free to learn, to rethink their old options, to change and grow, or to share fully their thoughts and feelings.
2. Sharing Information & Concerns
People working in groups also need information: about each other; their experience,
their ideas, their values & opinions and about issues which they
consider to be important in their lives.
3. Setting Goals
Unless the goals are set by the group, people will not be interested or committed to carrying them out. Unless goals are clear to all, people become frustrated. They way decisions are made is directly related to how committed people feel to carrying them out.
4. Organizing for Action
Once goals have been set, the group needs to make definite plans to reach these goals and carry out decisions. Definite people need to take responsibility to do definite things, and they should be accountable to the group to get these things done. This implies the need for a structure which is appropriate for the group and which will ensure that one person will not assume all responsibility or control all actions.
Discussion Questions
1. Nakakita ka na ba ng grupong sumusunod sa mungkahi ni Gibb?
2. Maaari bang gawing pabaligtad ang proseso ni Gibb? (magsisimula sa istructura, bago bumuo ng mga layunin, saka maghahanap ng mga impormasyon at sa huli kikilalanin ang mga tao) Magbigay ng halimbawa.

Iguhit ang iyong “life line” para ipakita ang iyong buhay, ipakita ang masaya at di-gaanong masayang pangyayari, mga mahahalagang panahon, pangyayari at tauhan, mga naramdaman dito, atbp. Markahan ng X ang kasalukuyang panahon at ituloy ito hanggang sa hinaharap. Gumuhit ng isang symbolo sa bawat mahalagang panahon. Simulan ang “life line” sa iyong pagkamulat.
