Moisture Separator Reheater (MSR)

The moisture separator reheater’s function is to improve the quality of the high-pressure turbine exhaust steam before it enters the low-pressure turbine. The operation mechanically removes the moisture from the high-pressure turbine exhaust, then reheats the dried steam almost to its initial live steam temperature by passing it though bundles of hot tubes. This “drying and reheating” operation minimizes erosion of the low-pressure turbine buckets as well as the momentum losses due to excessively moist steam. The net results are increased plant efficiency and longer life of the low-pressure turbine.

A device that gradually cools hot coke produced from a coke oven by using nitrogen gas, this can get coke in uniform size. This applies the environment-friendly cooling type that there seldom occur cooling water and fine dust. So this can greatly reduce coke crack compared with the current wet type (rapid cooling) using water and also improve coke quality. CDQ boiler is a waste heat boiler that generates steam by using waste heat generating in the system and operates a turbine by using the steam and then generates electric power.

Converters normally process 300 tons or more of scrap and hot metals in a single batch or “heat”. The scrap is added first, followed by the hot metal. A water-cooled lance is lowered into the the hot metal to deliver a high pressure stream of pure oxygen that triggers chemical reactions which convert the impurities into gases and slag.

Recuperator is a device that collects waste heat and so contributes to reduce energy and to preserve environ-ment. This collects heat of gas exhausted from various industrial furnaces, and sends it to a furnace to preheat combustion air. Recuperator is classified into three types by exhaust gas condition, installation place, and use; Channel Type, Radiation Type, and Flue Tube Type. This is the system that produces high-pressure process steam, or preheats fuel and air by using waste heat gen-erating from steel plant or power plants. The reuse of waste heat can contribute to prevent global warming by getting down the temperature of exhaust gas, and air pollution by reducing noxious gases such as Sox and Nox.

BHI adopts uses the natural circulation method of heat carrier by using sensible heat of gas exhausted from high-pressure boilers for power generation, and produces various waster heat recovery systems including BFG pre-heater to preheat blast furnace gas and sinter boiler, etc.

KEPIC(Korea Electric Power Industry Code) is the technical standards that specify techni-cal requirements required for design, production, construction, test, inspection, operation and repair, etc in accordance with domestic conditions in order to ensure safety and confi-dence of electric power equipments.

BHI acquired KEPIC-MN-228 in nuclear machines and KEPIC-SN-229 in nuclear civil engi-neering structures on December 2003 and so the quality and safety of our nuclear power equipments have been assured.

CSEL (Previously SQL) is a certificate that CSEI (CHINA SPECIAL EQUIPMENT INSPECTION & RESEARCH CENTRE) issues for boil-er and pressure vessels imported in China.

BHI successfully implemented a Quality Assurance System ac-cording to the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) 97/23/EC and meets the requirements of Module H, H1 of the Directive.
