The Board and Staff of the Museum of North Texas His- tory are aware of the discus- sions surrounding the monument, and that in other towns and cities across the country, museums have be- come a repository for Con- federate Statues and Monuments. We appreciate the public for wanting to en- gage the Museum into this conversation to provide con- text and history. We, as an organization, are willing to participate in conversations surrounding the monument with both res- idents and the Wichita Falls City Council. Near the top of the list at the recommendation of the list, he said recalling a con- versation with an attorney for the Texas Association of Counties, was the on-line training regarding open meetings and open records. The judge noted he al- ready has the names and phone numbers of several ex- perienced judges who have stepped forward and offered to help him navigate the complex waters of adminis- tering a county. Meanwhile, lurking near the top of his desk is finaliz- ing the 2020-21 county budget. “It’s going to be chal- lenging,” he said of the budget.
