Disability Champion at the Queen
Elizabeth hospital as this had come up at
the Big Check Up Day at the Heritage Centre.
Alun said that the Queen Elizabeth is now part of Lewisham
and Greenwich NHS Trust and he has talked to Oxleas
7

disability use A&E and the problems there are.
John A said that there is a new Safeguarding lead at
Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust who he will be meeting
with Tricia Pereira from the Councils Safeguarding Team.

proposal and budget for her idea of a Moving On Forum
which she sent to the council.
Carrie-Ann also said that the MPs will be doing an MP

changes at the moment to do with Autism.
Jobs
Jason said that the Employment Pilot had been set up to
try and get people with a learning disability jobs within the
council. It had lots of different people at the meetings
including GllaB and Greenwich Community College.
Jason said he thinks that the meetings
should become bigger and be a Jobs
Sub Group. This would help to move
things forward in supporting people into work.
Cllr Fahy said IKEA will be opening a store on the
Greenwich Peninsula which will bring more job
opportunities.
9
Housing
Jason said there wasn’t much to add to the update given
at the last meeting.
There have been a few issues but Jason will be going to a
meeting to discuss them. They still hope to use the
Abbeywood site and still hope that in a year and a half
there will be lots more housing options for people with a

want to move back to Greenwich can do.

2 out of 3 people get a phone call when their bus is
ready.
Routes need to be worked out by postcode.
Make sure journeys are short.
There should be spare buses in case one breaks
down.
This is what Greenwich Council wants to see happen:
People who use transport are comfortable
More people are happy with the service
People expect a good service
Journeys are quicker and shorter
Smaller buses to provide better comfort

complex needs and venues that are
already used will get new equipment.
