The presenter helps students to understand and define sexual harassment, and leads a discussion on how harassment can affect a persons health. This presentation covers Learning Target #5 of our Human Growth and Development Unit. (Explain the difference between acceptable, respectful physical contact and sexual harassment). If you have questions or concerns about this presentation, please feel free to contact Ms. Steif, Mrs. Berger, or Mr. Chalupny. JRG Students Wow the Audience With Seussical Jr. Performance JRG students showcased their talents and brought the characters of Dr. Seuss to life during each performance of Seussical Jr. on March 7-9. Congratulations to the cast and crew for a job well done! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to make this production a success. LMC News—Battle of the Books During the months of January and February, eight 7th and 8th graders have been practicing to compete in the state's Battle of the Books competition. In order to prepare, they collectively read a list of 20 books and memorized as much as possible about each one. Last month, the students competed in a JRG battle, and then qualifying students competed against students representing 161 other Wisconsin schools in a digital state battle. Congratulations to all of our hardworking, dedicated Battle of the Books participants! Forward Exam—March 19-April 12 JRG students have begun Forward Exam testing this week, and will continue periodically until late April. All Wisconsin public school students in grades 3-8 are assessed annually using the Forward exam. At JRG, both grades complete assessments in Math and English Language Arts, while 8th graders are also assessed in Science and Social Studies. Our testing schedule this year will be: 7th and 8th Graders:

March 19-March 29: English Language Arts (during Language Arts classes)

March 25-April 5: Math (during Math classes) 8th Graders Only:

April 1-12: Social Studies and Science (during Science or Social Studies classes) Important reminders for the Forward Exam:

As always, we ask that whenever possible families avoid scheduling appointments or other pre-scheduled absences during the testing sessions.

Remind your student to charge their Chromebook, since all testing is done online. Also, remember that students cannot use a personal device (laptop, Chromebook, etc.) for testing. We will provide those few students who typically opt to use their own device with a district Chromebook to use during testing.

Students should bring headphones on testing days, as some portions of the test require them. Please note that Bluetooth (wireless) headphones do not work with the testing system.

Phones, smartwatches and any other personal electronic devices cannot be used by anyone (students or staff) in the testing environment. When possible, students should leave them at home on testing days. Teachers will be collecting these devices during testing, and returning them at the end of the testing session.

You can also help your child to perform at their best by ensuring that they get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast.

If you have questions about the Forward Exam, please feel free to contact Eric Brinkmann, Principal.

Boys and Girls Track and Tennis Begin in April Boys and Girls Track will begin Wednesday, April 3 and will continue into May. Practices will be held daily from 3:10 until approximately 4:30.
