This is a full-time, 12-month, benefitted position with a one-year probationary period in the College of Extended Education and Global Engagement. Position Summary: Academic Technologies in the College of Extended Education and Global Engagement is recruiting a Learning Management System (LMS) Support Coordinator. The LMS Support Coordinator supports faculty, staff, and students using the campus learning management system (LMS) in teaching and learning initia- tives. The LMS Support Coordinator assists in the creation and management of LMS technical training programs including both online and face-to-face. This position offers high quality customer service on the phone, in person, and online, as well as group and individual training on the use of the LMS. This position is responsible for hands- on, technical coordination with the Academic Technology Support Specialist and the AT Student Assistants. The LMS Support Coordinator is HSU's LMS expert and works collaboratively within AT to answer questions and solve problems, in all aspects concerning the LMS. As such, the LMS Support Coordinator communicates, as nec- essary, with various units within HSU's Information Technology Services (ITS). Under the direct supervision of the Director of Academic Technology the incumbent will coordinate with both the instructional design team and the Academic Support Specialist to support faculty and student use of the LMS and assist in the development and support of faculty and student learning opportunities in a variety of formats. The incumbent will provide support to academic units using the LMS to enhance and facilitate academic and education- al objectives. Duties: Coordination and Support Provides leadership and coordination over the daily tasks associated with campus-wide support for the learning management system. Actively creates and contributes to ongoing documentation, training, and AT knowledgebase. Participates in team planning sessions to implement productive solutions to new technology and functional requirements. Collaborates with AT staff to maintain accurate and timely communication to HSU faculty, staff, and students with regard to the LMS status and changes. Administers user access and permissions within the LMS. Coordinates with all necessary HSU departments to ensure enrollment of students into LMS courses Participates in testing of new LMS tools, upgrades and patching, and documentation of testing results. Maintains and resolves issues as they arise and escalates issues when required. Performs setup and testing of new products, capabilities, and uses in a test Learning Management System (LMS) environment prior to releasing them in a production environment. Audits and monitors data integrity within LMS. Training and Collaboration Develops instructional materials, training materials. Collaborates with vendors on LMS third-party tools Collaborates with instructional designers and AT Support Specialist to solve problems related to the LMS. educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of

study.

Preferred qualifications:

Two years of full time experience providing information technology support.

Administration experience with Canvas.

Experience with Moodle and Canvas and associated academic technologies.

Experience in multimedia systems.

Knowledge of student-centered instructional practices.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Knowledge of learning management systems and the instructional design process.

Ability to demonstrate the navigation of the LMS, creation of a course, add and interact with content.

Ability to demonstrate organization of information and resources in a course to support both learning

(student perspective) and teaching (faculty perspective), e.g., creation of an activity such as a discussion us-

ing the LMS technology.

Demonstrates professional level decision-making capabilities, application of creative, systematic problem

solving, and is an active liaison for AT with other units across campus.

Exceptional customer service and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure.

Ability to work effectively on a team.

Hands-on knowledge of other technology tools integrated with the learning management system, including

but not limited to web- conferencing tools and multimedia applications, such as Zoom and Camtasia Suite.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge

functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying expertise.

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in working with users to interpret needs and provide

appropriate solutions. The incumbent must have a strong commitment to customer service, be proactive, and

self-motivated in order to support the diverse needs of faculty and student.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.

Demonstrated ability to pro-actively perform duties and meet time lines with only general direction.

Demonstrated expertise in general office procedures.

Ability to integrate multiple applications and/or systems. Ability to support and participate in multiple pro-

jects, and to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students as part of an interdisciplinary team.
