SOAR TO THE HEIGHTS A publication from Highland Heights United Methodist Church, Altus, OK

Micah’s Meditations
As the winds begin to twirl through the leaves and fall draws close, we will gather for Sunday wor-
ship and fellowship, to watch football games, for community events, for our UMW Pumpkin Sale
later in September, for the Blessing of the Animals and Hayride in October. We also gather with
brothers and sisters from our area United Methodist churches to serve the WOSC students during
Wesley lunches. How wonderful it is to join together with our brothers and sisters in Christ!
Beginning this fall, Highland Heights UMC has the wonderful occasion to join together with our
brothers and sisters from Altus First UMC, Altus Grace UMC, Blair UMC and Duke UMC. We
join with these churches to form the West Missional Area of the Wichitas District. Being a part of
the West Missional Area will allow us to join together in new opportunities of ministry and mission
with our sister churches. Stay tuned for more information!
With great excitement, I invite you to mark your calendars for Sunday, September 20th, as the five
churches of the West Missional Area will come together at Altus Grace UMC (620 S. Park Lane)
for a potluck meal, beginning at 6 p.m. A worship celebration will follow. Our Wichitas District
Superintendent, Rev. Chris Tiger, will share the message. Our church conference will also be held
that evening at Grace UMC. Let us gather with our brothers and sisters for a wonderful evening of
worship and fellowship.
In this upcoming autumn season, may each time we gather as the children of God be
a time that we are strengthened by the loving presence of Jesus, and may we share
that good news with everyone we meet!
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Micah

discover our spiritual passion.
This study will start on Mon-
day, October 5th at 10:00 am,
and finish on Monday, Novem-
ber 9th at 10:00 am. The cost
per book is $10.00. If you are
