• Frames (pictures) per second– 30 FPS faster than human eyes– 24 FPS – OK, about the fastest our eyes can see– 10 FPS - a little jerky
• How big is a frame– This screen 1024x768– TV - 640 x 480
How big?
• 10 minutes x 60 sec x 30 fps– 18,000 x 640 x 480– 5.5 billion pixels x 3 (RGB)– 16.6 billion bytes
• Audio - 48000 x 10 min x 60 sec/min x 2– 58 million bytes
• Compression (reduce the size)
Video Standards
• NTSC - American Television– Mostly black and white with a little color added– 460x360
• VHS - video tapes– Cheat a lot on the color– 300x360
• DVD - 720x480 • HDTV - High definition TV
– 1920x1080

- Select, Drag other audio track
- Slide and position audio track as desired
- Editing operations apply to entire clip

- Repeat previous 2 steps at second split
- Click on split clip
- Edit Detach Audio
- Double Click on (purple) Audio
- Delete Audio with Delete Key

- Double click clip
- Window Cropping, Ken Burns, Rotation
- Crop to initial window
- Select Ken Burns
- Click Done
- Preview and repeat as necessary

- Drag desired clip to project window
- Split Clip and mute or delete audio
- Sub in other audio
- Control-click in Event Window & “Add still frame to project”
- Delete excess frames
- Control-click still frame & “Reveal in Finder”
- Drag still from Finder to Photoshop/Gimp & Edit
- Save in iPhoto
- Drag from iPhoto into Project Window
